I'm a super loyal Petco customer I love that place except this one I will NEVER EVER go back, today I went there to buy food and had the worst experience ever,, I bought two bags of pro purina focus that was on sale, I admit the sale was a bad idea I knew there was a reason I ignored it, when I got home I opened both bags to put them in the food containers that we out all the food in and BOTH bags have bugs crawling around through all the dog food, we called the store to tell them about the situation, the manager who we spoke to on the phone was nice about it and told us to throw the food and bring in the receipt to exchange it, we had one employ be very rude with us telling us we had to bring the food in that's how it works, then the manager helped us out with another employ, they were nice I'm glad they let us exchange food but now I have to check every bag of dog food for bugs read more

What happened to this place??? It fell apart since my last visit. Out of what I needed and asked a 'manager' to look in the back. David said he was the manager and that they were getting a truck tomorrow and they wouldn't have it. Asked if he would look he said he was too busy. Yet he walked away to the break room. I should have left right there, fortunately I didn't and was able to witness him come out of the break room with a cup of coffee. I glared at him and he threw me a smug smile. What a piece of work. Jerk! Where did the manager go??? She was always so pleasant and helpful. Take care of your people Petco - you are losing the good ones and keeping the crap. Grooming was closed at 2 o'clock. Time to go back to Petsmart. read more

We had a great experience! My husband took my dog to the wrong place and the staff were all very gracious and went ahead and squeezed my dog in and gave him an amazing cut!!! read more

The best pet store! They price match big online retailers, offer really great dog training at a great price and so much more. Staff is always friendly and go above and beyond. Highly recommend this particular location. read more

The smell will rip a hole in your head. Please clean this place up or close it. Can't believe a large chain would let a store get this bad. Enter at your own risk. read more

I love the staff at Petco grooming, I have been taking my dog there for over 10 years and have always had a positive experience, not one problem ever! read more

I take our dog Carly there every couple of weeks for the Mini Makeover. Karen and all her groomers are always cheery and happy to see us. They do a wonderful job and Carly is not an easy client. The new remodel of the store and the $10 "Do It Yourself" pet wash station is a really nice feature, shampoo, conditioner, towels, blow dryer all included. The other store associates always ask if you need help so you and your pets needs are taken care of. read more

And this is why I only support small local pet stores. Poor customer service. Don't raise your voice in a defensive manor when I ask a simple question if you carry a product. My bad for coming here out of convenience to the location. read more

I really like Petco. It never smells bad and is always clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and they have a MUCH better selection of QUALITY pet foods than Petsmart. One thing I love is that they guarantee their pet food, meaning if you buy a bag of new or premium food you don't have to worry about wasting money because if your animal does not like it or they have adverse reactions from it, they take it back and give you a FULL refund. This is very important to me because I have one cat that has food intolerance problems and I've had to try many different brands to find one that suits him. read more

Worst customer service. Employee Bailey barely has a pulse. Is more worried about getting in trouble with her GM over actually asking her manager to help her in my simple, single item return transaction. I stopped shopping here years ago due to rats, horrible smell and bad customer service. I had to come here for an item that I can't get at my regular, local place. I should have ordered it from Amazon. I would have been able to return it and have my money back in less time that it took me to write this review. read more

crowded. I observed the man who worked in the doggy day care... boy, had he been very impatient with one bulldog. I watched for like 20 mins. i sure wouldnt want to bring my dog in there for him to watch her. The dogs seemed freightened by him. read more

Roy was unbelievably helpful and provided me with the most outstanding, personable customer service I have received in my entire life! He is without a doubt, the most upbeat and friendly person I have ever spoken with, and went above and beyond to resolve my issue flawlessly! Due to the over the top incredible accommodating assistance I received, I will remain a loyal Petco customer for years to come. I cannot even begin to express in words how immensely thankful and appreciative I am for Roy's unmatched help, and I hope that he will be recognized for being such a genuinely amazing person and associate of your company! I have worked in the customer service industry myself as a manager for well over a decade, and needed to take the time to commend Roy's above and beyond commitment to making me feel like a sincerely understood and cared for customer. He radiates the most infectious positive energy, and I am infinitely grateful for him. You are extremely lucky to have such an extraordinary person working for your company. His efforts to assist me were absolutely stellar, and I hope to work with him again in the future with any needs I may have. Roy is truly a special human being, and we need more people like him in this world, let alone industry, that have such a passion for taking care of customers. This has been such a difficult and challenging past year for everyone, but I left my visit with the biggest smile on my face, from our enjoyable and uplifting interaction. It is not possible for me to rave more about the exceptional experience I had with Roy and cannot thank him enough for everything!!! read more

I took our puppy shorky to get groomed about a month ago and i must say he still looks amazing! Everyone at this Petco is extremely nice and were eager to help. It is really hard to find someone you can trust with your family pets with I will definitely keep bringing my pets to get groomed at this location... Thank you to the Petco staff read more

Petco on Brodie Lane did a great job giving my labradoodle puppy (7 months) his first major grooming. He had picked up fleas out of town and his coat waa a mess. The groomer got rid of the fleas and gave him a short hair cut that was fabulous. read more

AQUARISTS STAY AWAY. Absolutely horrible. DO NOT go here for fresh water fish or plants, all of the tanks were completely infested with pest snails. I came in looking for a betta and a mystery snail, there were no mystery snails in stock (whatever, it happens so that didn't cause them to lose a star) but the Bettas were so sad. There were a couple that were dead and more than half were swimming funny. I managed to find a good one and some silk plants that I liked but were way overpriced. I bought them anyway because Petsmart doesn't carry anything that looks like those. However for most of the aquarium equipment, Petsmart has much more affordable options. It seriously looked like no one had paid any attention to the freshwater animals in a week. The salt water fish looked okay, I don't know anything about keeping them though. read more

Bought a large, expensive item. Took it home, found it did not have all items included in the box but did have packaging from another product someone had purchased. Obviously this item had been purchased & return and the employees just threw it back on the shelf without checking the item. I now get the luxury of lugging it back to the store to return. Thanks quality Petco employees. Will just drive over to Petsmart from now on. Or better yet, locally-owned Tomlinson's. Update: received a call from manager of the store apologizing & stating they do have policies in place & will be reviewing with the specific employee so it does not happen again. Will give them another chance, will just be cautious w/ purchases. read more

Being a new dog owner, I found the options for dog food to be a lot to go through. I asked a woman for help. She was cold and very snippy with her replies. Kinda fustrated I was ready to leave when I decided to ask another employee. Dorey was a god send. Calm, kind, and genuinely spoke from the heart. She offered not only options and advice about food, but also tips and first time tricks to welcoming my new four legged friend into my home. She didn't rush me or try to "sell" me products. If you want to know what great customer service is, go ask for Dorey. Completely changed my shopping visit and made me feel at ease and confident with my purchases. Thanks dorey. read more

I shop there for cat food, but I went in to buy some aquarium stuff for my beta fish. My husband bought their bamboo to put in the tank with my fish. I would have told him no if I had known that the bamboo picked out was in a tank with fish in it. I've had beta fish and successfully kept them for 11 years. I've never had any issues with them and know how to take care of them. We washed the bamboo and put it in the tank and by the next day he was dead! We dumped EVERYTHING out of the tank and once again cleaned ALL of the stuff. Scrubbed it and rinsed it very well. We went to a different store and bought a new beta fish and brought it home. Not knowing if it was just a coincidence we put all of the same CLEAN stuff back in the tank with the new beta fish, INCLUDING the bamboo. A week later he was dead. He was perfectly healthy, he was eating and swimming around then yesterday he started acting funny. He was darting around in his tank and was basically nose diving and laying on the bottom of the tank. I know what swim bladder looks like and that definitely wasn't it. Now I have two dead beta fish and the ONLY common denominator was the frikken bamboo. I knew I shouldn't have put it in there, especially from a place where selling fish is just a novelty rather than the main business. I was very sad though, I really loved my first beta fish and the second one we got was pretty nifty. I took it out and am just keeping it as a plant OUTSIDE of the tank, but now I have all of these items and no fish. I'm very disappointed. read more

This place is a nightmare. The manager Blake. Was extremely rude and would not honor the pricing or promotions and said he would only give us 10% off and not the 25% like marked. Will not be returning to PetCo anymore. That is for sure. read more

The grooming dept should not schedule weekend appointments! Why make one if my dog is going to sit in a kennel for 3.5 hours before he even gets seen? I get that there's walk-ins, but if I'm told it'll take 2-3 hours for him to be done, then I expect him to only be in a kennel for 1-2 hours tops. Call me when he is able to be seen and I'll be there in 10 mins. It is completely unnecessary for him to be in a kennel that long. read more

first off they never sell the food i get for my dogs anymore. I can't find my bird's food there anymore either even though every time I'm out I go there and look just hoping to find it. second of all the groomers are terrible... my dogs both had choppy, uneven, not blended, UGLY haircuts.... I have no grooming experience and could do better than that. so for over $100 that was super disappointing and not worth it at all read more

My dog regularly enjoys the clip and buff option. With that nail service, a customer can walk in without an appointment. The groomer sees us quickly. I had a zoom appointment at 11am and show up at 10:55am for the attendant to tell me that it would be 3-4 hours. I said that I had a zoom appointment and she told me that it was not recorded as such. This is the second time this has happened here. She asked if I could come back in an hour and I said no, I took the day off from work to do this and have other things to take care of. The manager came over and said the same. I stood there in disbelief as I looked at an empty area behind them. There were 2 employees standing in front of me doing nothing and all they could say was "sorry". I will never return. read more

Never again will I take my dogs to petco grooming again. I took them in at 10am. The drop off area has only enough room for one owner and one or two pets. The lady at the counter was nice but when she came around to get one of my dogs she put her hand right under his mouth to pet him without giving him an opportunity to sniff her hand. He nipped at her and all of a sudden he needs special handling which is an extra charge. I was told 3-4 hours but it took them 5.5. I swung by after 4 hours to see if they were done and the groomer said she still needed to do my other dog. Why even make an appt? What was surprising was one of my dogs was on her stand just barely getting taken care of. The dog she had on the stand, she said she was having problems trimming her nails. I used to go to petsmart and my dogs have never had those problems before. The employees there just had attitudes, so I switched. I finally got the call to pick them up. I took my dogs home and they literally ran to their water bowl and drank water like they had not had water all day. So by dogs were stressed more than normal there and obviously didn't have access to water. Now to start looking for a new groomer. read more

I shop here all the time and think this is probably one of the best Pet stores in Austin, despite it being part of a large chain. What makes it so great is that the employees are all very laid back Austin types and seem to really care about their jobs. I like how the store is very bright and clean and sells more higher end pet foods then the competition accross the street. From a glance you feel like the store caters to the beginner pet owner, more so than the expert, but after you talk to a few of their employees you learn that they have several experience Avian, Aquatic and herp owners that work there and they Will go out of their way to find the products that someone more experienced as myself may need..... read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a pet store. I bought two bettas and two tanks, etc on Wednesday. It was extremely difficult to find anyone to help us since we had questions. When we finally found someone, she basically blew us off. Then one of the bettas died within 12 hours of us buying it. So we went to return it, but they insisted on doing a water sample before doing a return or swap. The lady we went to was extremely rude and even yelled our water levels out to the whole store. She also yelled at one of her employees who just needed a key for another customer's appointment. Overall, we dealt with 3 employees who were equally rude and unhelpful. They didn't tell us how to fix our water and refused to give us another fish to replace the dead one. Don't ever go to this store. Go to Petsmart about a block away! read more

Seems like there are no mature adults working in this store. All teeny boppers talking about their boyfriends. Couldn't find anybody in the store other than the front to ask about the dog food I needed. I won't be going back. read more

I took my dog to the groomers on Friday 11/4, I've always trusted petco with my dog but after what happened...never again. I mentioned I always get the $65 dollar price cut and they said that would be the spa package included...totaling to be 83 dollars. I said okay because again I trusted them. After returning a 3 hours after, my dog still wasn't done. They quoted me in person another 15-20 mins. An hours passes I get a call saying 10 mins! Cool okay...not! I arrived to pick up my beloved dog and the helper (Christine-manager said that was her name) DROPPED my shitzhu on the floor! He's an older dog, and to be dropped in his shoulder didn't help! She didn't say sorry or apologize she just said "oh"! After that I got anxiety and walked out with my dog into the car, I looked at how poorly his hair was cut and returned inside! They then proceeded to fix the disaster they created! While the older woman fixed him I watched him be handled roughly and the two helpers just stood there! As they answered the phone saying plumbing was a hold back, something that was never told to myself(seemed like an excuse). Anyways the manager I believe her name was Katherine gave me a discounted price and would let the groomer manager know what happened. After all that, they didn't finish fixing his cut, probably because they saw me talking with the manger while they were fixing him...he has irritated spots from being shaved too closely, limping from the side he was dropped on, oh and that spa treatment, he doesn't even smell washed!!!!! read more

I've been here twice in the past few months and I agree with the other customer who says the store stinks. I'm not sure it's urine and feces. It smells like dead lizards. We've recently started taking our dog there for grooming & very happy with the results. Pricing was fair as were the time frames for service. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I've witnessed & can appreciate the patience the staff has shown with some very pretentious customers. Called the store to ask about which selection of birds they had, and the worker put me on hold until I hung up. I called two more times, and the same thing happened. Either they don't know how to help me, or they're too lazy to do it; both of which are inexcusable. read more
