We watched tons and tons of videos and things got slightly better but we really didn't see much behavior change until we worked with Andres. It's not that information online was good enough, it was that we didn't understand how to best execute the information. We also didn't know what information was good and what was garbage. Having Andres in our corner was truly helpful. He would answer any questions we had and I enjoyed his teaching style and his ability to breakdown concepts to us. We brought them a very difficult situation:…read moreour 8-year-old corgi, Rexy, was struggling badly after we brought home our Akita puppy, Ryu. The stress and fights became so severe that both dogs ended up at the vet hospital after Rexy started attacking Ryu in what had previously been his "only dog" space. Our house was literally separated by gates, and we were living in constant stress trying to keep everyone safe. Honestly, we were terrified we might have to rehome Ryu and almost did. Sophie worked with Ryu on puppy obedience and handling the strong-willed personality Akitas are known for, while Chris worked with Rexy on the behavioral side and helping him tolerate and coexist with the new puppy. They did two weeks of training followed by a week of boarding together so the dogs could continue adjusting to each other in a structured environment. The communication throughout the process was amazing. We received frequent updates, pictures, and videos, and it was obvious they truly cared about the dogs and understood the emotional toll this situation had taken on us. The difference since coming home has been huge. Ryu is far more controllable and much less reactive around other dogs, and Rexy is now able to tolerate and coexist with him peacefully. Our dogs are now respectful of each other's space, and our home no longer feels divided and chaotic. What we especially appreciated is that they were realistic about the fact that training does not end when the dogs come home. They gave us the tools and guidance to continue the work ourselves, which we have been committed to doing. We've had no out-of-control barking incidents; he can be tethered and remain quiet. He's very good on walks, moving from "heel" to "break" and back to "heel" again. He's very responsive to the "off" command, which we use primarily to keep him off the furniture and out of the kitchen. Last week we had friends over for dinner and after his initial excitement he was a good boy, lying nearby content and chewing on a bone. We even attended the Humane Society Walk for Animals at Kit Carson Park, and with hundreds of dogs and people and non-stop activities, he was again a very well-behaved boy. We are so appreciative of the work that Michelle did with Monty. He is now the dog we always hoped he would be - happy, well-behaved, and living his best life!

Wanted to give a much needed update !…read more Shortly after I wrote my previous review my spouse and I decided to just push forward with training and board as our pup was completely out of control and tried snapping at a family member's hand. Our dog came back calm, orderly, and OBEDIENT! After a month long stay and many many wonderful updates multiple times per week we are confident he has made at least a 90% improvement on his bad behaviors and is able to calmly behave not only around us but his reactivity to other dogs has made a tremendous improvement. Shannon and Sierra are STELLAR! I'd also like to mention they did a home drop off for us (since I'm still heavily pregnant) and spent over an HOUR with my husband and I going over all of the new things he has learned + even took a walk with us in the neighborhood to address another issue we had with reactivity. We were left with a sheet of all his new & enforced behaviors to keep track of along with super chewer toys and treats. I spoke with my husband on each and he agreed with me, DOTR was the best sounding. We reached out, told them about our beautiful 5 yr old Great Dane. They did the research within the company to find a best fit. Carter came out to our home after some communication. He LOVED our dog, she loved him. Carter and his wife were hooked and accepted her with open arms. The day to leave was here. She got a bit anxious seeing our luggage. My husband drove her a short distance over and dropped her off. She loved it, and they were so loving right back. We had updates regularly, both in email and pictures. It looked like she was on vacation. We are booking again for Thanksgiving this year. Unfortunately, Carter is not available, but they connected us with Madeline. We already know that this is going to be a great experience for Madeline and our pup (6 yr old at that time).
