It took her 6 months to be okay with my sister-in-law So when I say she grew to love our trainer Sasha, that means something. We say Sasha's name and Roma looks around for her! When we started, Roma was very anxious and nervous, with few ways of calming down in chaotic or packed areas. She was also a picky eater and had some reactivity. Sasha worked with us for 3 months and taught us so much. She guided us through each scenario, showed us we should have more confidence in Roma, and set us up with a system of tools, exercises, and mindset to empower her. Roma was nervous with the team at first, but by the 3rd month she fully trusted them. Now Roma is learning to stay in place and ignore people and dogs, and she's more confident in crowded areas. She's no longer picky with food either. We learned it's okay for her to skip a meal instead of bribing her with cheese. It's not the end of the world! If you have an anxious dog, take the leap. Ask a bunch of questions, come in with an open mind, and put in the work on the exercises and homework. We couldn't have done it ourselves with our busy schedule.

After a consultation at the residence-turned-dog-training-facilty we decided on the 3 week boarding program. We boarded our Maltipoo pup, Remy, during the peak of teething-destory everything era while we were out of town for wedding. The trainers were really great and patient with him. You could have also tell Remy was very comfortable with them. When we picked up Remy he was happy, healthy and very excited to see us. He also exhibited more attention and checked in with us more. Pulling on the leash became non-existent and his new default is now to sit in a heel position. The only improvement I'd suggest is that I wish I received more updates regarding Remy while he was boarded. We received a photo and say a couple of videos on Instagram, but more would have been welcomed. Regardless, we're happy with the training and the additional homework/tips to practice while at home. Remy continues to be a regular at the group trainings and other outings hosted by K9 Logic. I feel comfortable with my pup socializing with different dogs in the presence of the K9 Logic team.

After Mochi arrived she visited weekly for in-home training, and each session was followed by a detailed email and PDF summarizing step-by-step what we learned. There was no problem she didn't have a solution for -- she's the female dog whisperer. Jessica is attentive, extremely knowledgeable, fantastic with dogs, and genuinely friendly - highly recommend Proud Paws!

We had a deeply disappointing experience with Jesse and Proud Paws. During our initial…read moreconsultation, we explained our specific situation: a young puppy in a home with a 2-year-old toddler, and a desire to build good habits early before problems could develop. Jesse assured us that she had experience with this kind of dynamic. She strongly encouraged us to sign up for her "Puppy Rockstar" package which is eight sessions for $1,360. She came across as personable, confident, and knowledgeable, so we trusted her and paid in full upfront (though this was optional). Despite carefully following the program (including more than triple the 10 min minimum daily training time she advised) our puppy's behavior deteriorated. After three sessions, it was clear her training methods (which relied entirely on treat-based reward and offered no alternate tools or structure) weren't effective for our situation. We made the hard decision to go with a more intensive program elsewhere. When we contacted Jesse to explain our situation and request a prorated refund for the five unused sessions, she refused, citing a strict "no refunds" clause in her paper work packet. Her only offer was to put our remaining sessions on hold and extend their expiration, even though we made clear that we had already moved to other training out of necessity. It is important to note that the contract also included a clause discouraging us from working with or even taking advice from any other trainer during the program. In our view, this kind of exclusivity, especially in a situation involving a toddler and a rapidly escalating behavioral issue, was unreasonable and not in the best interest of our family or the puppy. Ultimately, we had to prioritize safety and act against the restriction as quickly as possible, even though we initially agreed in good faith. I made this clear to Jesse and offered a fair compromise, in my opinion, of allowing her to retain payment for an additional unused session as a gesture of goodwill. She declined. I voiced my frustration and, frankly, shock at her stance. When I told her I would be leaving a review of our experience, she said that doing so was "threatening her business." I clarified that we were sharing our honest experience so others could make informed choices. My wife and I don't see it that way-we believe sharing an honest account is important for other families deciding who to welcome into their homes with training. Her communication about resolving these issues reflects a rigid and transactional mindset rather than a client-focused one. That was particularly disappointing given how kind and understanding she initially seemed. I strongly advise others to approach with caution: If you choose to work with Proud Paws, I recommend avoiding prepayment, requesting a copy of any contract, and understanding there may be little room to adapt if things don't go as expected. Check out my other reviews-I hate leaving negative ones and have only done so once before. I much rather spread positive news with people and typically have much better luck on yelp finding the right providers. As an update: our puppy has been with a new trainer for just one week, and the change has been dramatic. She's calmer, better behaved, and able to interact positively with our toddler. It's been a complete turnaround. We're beyond relieved that we made the change, though still hurting from the way our family was treated here. Photo from that visit-because every review needs one moment of joy-attached.

Where do we even start? Our dog, Cooper, was adopted from a shelter after being surrendered twice…read more We quickly learned that he struggled with severe separation anxiety and couldn't be left alone. We became prisoners in our own home. We either had to take him everywhere with us or have one of us stay behind. It became a huge burden, and we found ourselves scheduling our entire lives around our dog. We decided to work with Dawit, and little by little, things started to improve. When we got Cooper back from training, he was like a completely different dog. He no longer pulled on the leash, was not reactive when he saw other dogs, his recall was amazing, and many of our typical worries disappeared. However, the separation anxiety still persisted. This is where Dawit truly deserves recognition. He never gave up on us or on Cooper. Our training journey probably lasted longer than most because of how severe Cooper's anxiety was, but Dawit went far beyond the typical follow-ups. Over the course of several months, the training sessions, check-ins, texts/videos, communication, and home visits finally paid off. There were times when I genuinely thought we'd never be able to return to a normal life, but our consistency combined with Dawit's continued support and new techniques made all the difference. Cooper can now stay home alone in his crate without issues. That being said, training only works if you put in the effort. We followed through with everything Dawit recommended, even when it was difficult or when we didn't see immediate results. It's easy to fall back into old habits or give up when progress feels slow, but perseverance truly pays off. Side note: Dawit is just an all-around great person who genuinely cares about what he does. Our dog absolutely adores him. We also love the boarding services he offers -- especially because Cooper comes home exercised and happy. Another huge plus is that Cooper is now off-leash certified, and we fully trust him to make good decisions. Yes, it can be costly, but it's an investment and honestly, I don't know another dog as well‑behaved as ours. I'm incredibly proud of the work it took to get here.

It is like summer camp for dogs, with a ranch style yard, swimming & hiking. Our dogs used to shake when we dropped them off at the boarders or groomers, but here they run straight to the back & don't even look back! What I love about the ranch as opposed to other boarders is that I know the dogs are continuously socialized & stimulated. They don't sit in isolated rooms, where you have to pay extra for socializing or play time. They get a lot of exercise -- you can pay for hikes or training sessions during boarding. And like the name says: it's affordable!! So I don't worry about the cost or impact of long-term boarding on my pocket or my dog. Which really helps with our busy traveling lifestyle. After using these trainers/boarders over the years, they've become like second parents to our dogs. I know they get love, belly rubs/pets, & treats. We receive photos of the dogs and can see how truly happy they are on the ranch. I fully trust them with my fur babies! We found Affordable Dog training when rescuing an aggressive/defensive large dog; he had issues with toy possession, trust issues, hand biting & sensitive areas from previous abuse. The trainers helped us with training in our house, at the ranch, & out in real-life situations. They recommended the best tools to help, like slip leads, short leashes & shock collars for training. We really saw the dog's demeanor change over training & every time we picked him up from the ranch he was more trusting & loving. We had a second dog with somewhat opposite behavioral issues: dog aggression on leash, pulling & defensiveness of owner. They knew exactly how to help in this case too! They helped teach us how to manage the two very different behavioral issues. I cannot recommend them enough!!! 100/10 best trainers & boarders you can find in the SF Valley & surrounding area.

We enrolled Poppy, our 4 month old puppy at the time, in their 10-day reverse board-and-train program. I wasn't expecting her to come out perfectly trained in 10 days, but I did expect the level of intensive training they advertised on their site. The trainer we got was sweet and had a calm energy, which I liked since Poppy was skittish around new people. But the actual training didn't come close to matching what was promised. We have security cameras at home, so I could see exactly what was happening while we were gone. Most days were only 5-10 minutes of actual training. The rest of the time the trainer was watching TV or on her phone. If we'd wanted someone to watch TV with our puppy, we could've asked a neighbor for free. By the end of it, Poppy knew "sit" and "down" and not much else. The separation anxiety and potty training work we'd specifically talked about before signing up hadn't really progressed. I want to be clear, my problem wasn't that she wasn't fully trained in 10 days. It's that we paid for a specific service and didn't get it. I emailed the owner, Jeff, sent him the video clips, and asked for a partial refund. He wouldn't address any of it directly, just offered services that were already included in our package and turned down the refund. Then he was rude to my husband on the phone, which threw me because my husband is about as easygoing as they come and almost never gets worked up over anything. I also found it concerning that the exit document I was given included a clause saying clients agreed not to post negative reviews. I never signed it, but seeing that made me question how much honest customer feedback actually makes it online. Super shady. We ended up going with a different trainer afterward, and Poppy turned out exactly how we'd expected her to after actual, consistent training. Maybe we just got unlucky with the trainer. I can only go off our own experience, but between the training we actually received and how they handled it afterward, I wouldn't recommend them.
