Avoid this store or Petco. I went there to purchase equipments for my daughter's pet. I was introduced the Vital Care Premier Plan by one of the staff. He told me that I could sign up for the plan to get discounts and cancel it later anytime if I did not like it. A couple of months later I found I didn't really need the plan because I could buy many things from Amazon with cheaper prices, so I decided to cancel it to avoid the monthly charge $10.96. Then, I realized that I had signed up for a membership plan with an annual commitment, which was never mentioned by the guy who helped me. I suddently felt that I was tricked. How many people would actually read all pages of the contract? Fine, I could cancel it after one year. I wanted to make sure my membership won't be renewed after one year. Guess what! There was an option of turning off the Auto-Renew Plan function on Petco website and Petco App on my phone, but I was not able to switch it off (it's a fake switch). I was shocked and thought about whether the company made this on purpose. I wanted to visit the local store where I signed up for the membership, but I was too busy to go there and forgot about it. During the Christmas break, my daughter wanted to buy a light bult at the store, so it reminded me of asking my Vital Care Premier account. I showed the Petco app on my phone to one of the staff that I could not turn off the Auto-Renew Plan, and surprisingly she had no clue and suggested me to contact the Customer Service. A couple weeks later, I decided to try it one more time on Petco website. I used the online chatting function on Petco website to look for a solution and received a customer service phone number (They could not help me from the online chatting). When I was typing another message to explain my situation, the chat session was ended by the representative. Shouldn't the representative wait for my response to end the session? I then called the customer service and explained the situation. The lady who helped me could easily switch off the Auto-Renew setting from her side. This is RIDICULOUS! The company made the option available on the website and app, but customers can not do it by themselves. I had to waste my time to get it done (one trip to the store, online chatting, phone call to customer service) instead of a simple click on the website or app. I doubted that they knew it and just wanted to make the cancellation more diffcult. Be careful about signing up for the Vital Care Premier plan! Not sure if any other customers had the same experience of cancelling the membership. No more Petco. Go to PetSmart or Amazon. read more

The service is not consistently reliable. The store was totally empty. When we came in with the exception of one staff member who was feeding the live pets. After she disappeared the only other person was in the grooming area. When we were ready no one was around. I yelled several times. I didn't get any response. I had to find an employee only room and knocked on the door. The clerk came out and rang up my sale. The store is well stocked, though it does not have the types of dog food. I feed my dog. We had an appointment at 5:30pm on a Sunday. We showed up at 5:15pm and didn't get our dog vaccinated until 6pm due to a long line. read more

Staff is always super friendly! They luckily always have our dog food: Taste of the Wild, Southwest flavor. I personally don't like how all the animals at pet places look so sad and like they are dying slowly so that makes me a little depressed every time I go here for dog food. However, I rescued my two cute boys and I have to go somewhere for dog food. So I try to look past it for the biweekly dog food purchase. I used to cook for my dogs but I felt like it was so much work to do. I want to get back into it after I'm done with school so I don't support corporate places that don't respect their animals. Dublin Petco didn't do good grooming for my dog. He was unevenly shaved around nose area. I have a golden doodle, even though we paid extra bucks for the Halloween package I wasn't satisfied with the service provided. We have tried Petco Livermore grooming in the past 4-5 times and they were too good never experienced this. I won't recommend Dublin Petco grooming. read more

We took our Mini Goldendoodle in for his first grooming appt this week and Rachel did a great job ! We loved the cut and he smelled so good after we picked him up. Beware!!! We have been bringing our three year-old Yorkie mix to Petco in Dublin for couple of years now, but the haircuts have not improved over those years. In fact, the cuts have gotten worse and worse. Last Thursday we took her into have a well needed grooming. Simple short haircut, very uneven, pieces left long for no reason. Paid for the service and took her home. She started scratching immediately, and we realized that she came home covered in fleas. Now both our dogs have fleas. We had no flea problem on Wednesday before the grooming, but now we are faced with a possible infestation and all the fun, cleanup and linen washing, etc., that goes with it. Flea combing constantly, finding 3 to 7 fleas every time. They've never had fleas this bad, ever. We called the management and they really had nothing to say. We may have to consider trying out one of the other Petco locations nearby. If you use their services, check for fleas immediately afterward. And good luck getting a satisfactory haircut. read more

The customer service here was amazing! I went in one evening with my dog and it was pretty quiet. All of the employees were so kind and wanted to give my dog treats! It was so cute! I was a long time customer of Petco for a number of years, until I found their service quality going down hill. For several years I stopped supporting Petco. However, after not finding what I was looking for at a competitor, I decided to visit Petco again. Fortunately, a new general manager, Stacy, helped me. She was enthusiastic, helpful, and I felt she genuinely cared for my pets' needs. With her outstanding customer service, it was obvious that she not only showed she cared about her customer/customer's pets, she positively supported her store location as well as other store locations, thus supporting Petco as a whole. Outstanding customer service is harder to find these days. We will definitely begin shopping here again as our first choice and recommend others give Dublin Petco a try. I just had a great experience with Petco Grooming. Rachel gave my cavalier a great haircut. She looked him over carefully and asked all the right questions about medication, nervousness, ears, etc. I asked for it short because it grows back so fast and he sheds a lot. And the price was decent, $69, and I like that the 8th cut is free so I will be back and I hope she is still there for the next haircut. read more

1 star for grooming service. The first time my husband went there, the groomer Skye blew him off. My husband waited for about an hour and asked cashier couple times, the cashier kept saying they paged the groomer, but the groomer never showed up. Talked to manager and sounded like Skye lied to the manager by saying my husband was late for more than 15 minutes. It should be easily verified if they check the security camera that my husband was on time and Skye never showed up. The manager offered a free haircut by Skye (I clearly requested a different groomer and manager promised, they still assigned Skye, what's wrong with Petco????) for the next week. In the picture you can see how bad the haircut is. Two ears are not symmetric, there are bumps all over my dog's body. Everyone who saw this picture said it's an awful haircut!! I brought my dog here for the first time , the groomer was waiting outside for someone to come and open the door . Long story short I was not satisfied with her groom . We normally get a teddy bear cut with a slight trim to the ears . Big cheerful store! Plus, they have cleaning supplies if your pet has an accident in the store. And they don't even get mad at you. We live pretty close to the store and frequent it to buy bird food, cat food, dog food, raccoon food. Well okay, we don't really have a raccoon, but we have five rescue cats and a rescue doberman/coon hound. That's almost like having a raccoon. With all these rescue animals, sometimes I think I must be a rescue husband. The last time I was here, I brought Nikki the doberman to try to get her acclimatized to people. It was a complete failure, and led to a cleanup on aisle 6. Fortunately, they had plenty of cleaning supplies close by for me. I didn't come back for a few months, since I was so embarrassed. Nikki wasn't embarrassed at all. I think she kind of snickered. This time, it was just me. Last time, I think my doberman was trying to give me a hint that she didn't like these acclimatize sessions. Today, I needed some cat supplies, and the cashier was very helpful and directing me to the right products. The employees were also very friendly in demonstrating some of the squeaky dog toys. This one star rating has nothing to do with the amazing cashiers and on floor staff. I cannot give enough praise to their dog training staff. I'm extremely dissatisfied with how Petco handled the canceled training classes, I was never notified therefore I made multiple trips over the weeks only to find out the class had been canceled. They had my email and phone number in the the system yet I was never given any notice. I even made the effort to call the day before and was told yes to come in. It was a waste of my time and resources for which I was not reimbursed. I do not plan to step back into Petco again after this experience. My first time at petco grooming and I am very dissatisfied. My 9 year old poodle has been going to Petsmart for a long time, however, his groomer went on maternity leave and I wanted to try a new place. I paid $95.60 for a services that was not delivered. The groomer called me from petco when my dog was ready for pick-up and reported that my dog was nervous and tried to "bite" her when she touched his face/paw area (my dog is NOT a biter). I picked up my small poodle and it was a TERRIBLE haircut. The groomer reported that it was unsafe to keep cutting and that is why he was left that way. She advised I come back a different day to fix it. She explained she couldn't really file his nails (which I paid extra for). Then she reported that my dog possibly has arthritis because how "he was walking and sitting"and said I should check it out with the vet. First of all, my dog is known to ALWAYS do really well at his grooming appointments. He comes out with a wonderful haircut. Even after I shared this with my family, they were surprised because that's not like my dog. I understand that it is a new environment and a new person but it also makes me wonder how he was treated at Petco to have had this traumatizing experience. When he got in the car, there was hair falling everywhere still. It looked like he was bit by ants as some hairs were longer than others. Then, when we get home I noticed my dog was walking oddly. After about 30 minutes it was back to normal. My dog is healthy, he was just at the vet and arthritis was not a concern and before his appointment he was not walking or sitting weird. I know my dog very well and this is all very unusual. I will not be returning to this location. I should be refunded for this. read more

It was easy to make an appointment via the Petco app, and I got a call from Rachel the day before to confirm. Drop off was great and didn't take too long. And my pup was ready in under two hours! Went in for some wet cat food for my cat who needs to have a certain kind of food and we have been having trouble finding the kind that we need. Anthony was able to find the last package of what we were looking for! We were able to get our cat the food she needs in order to stay healthy. Also, recently we had been looking for a mat for our litter box since we are sick of cleaning litter off the floor and he recommended one to us, so we bought it and it works fantastic! Do not buy feeder crickets here! I asked for ten large feeder crickets. Someone went into the back and came back with a bag. Unfortunately, I didn't look closely until I got home. When I opened the bag, there was a very strong odor. It appeared to contain a few weeks worth of excrement. At least three of the crickets were missing limbs. One was DEAD. Several appeared to be of medium size, not large. One was very small! It would seem they fill the cricket bags in private for a reason! I won't return here. They have an honest selection of pet supplies and VERY knowledgeable staff. The lady who helped us knew everything we needed to know about our new toads: what they eat, where they sleep, what they like to do in their free time, etc. (j/k about free time). We immediately knew we wanted these toads over the snooty parakeets or even the lizards or tortoises. Amphibians rock. Makali is the grooming manager and the only person I have ever allowed to groom my dogs. She is nothing short of amazing.
