Very easy self service washing tub! Took our puppy here for her first bath, and will definitely be returning. Super easy and convenient! 3 different soap options then the final water rinse and blow dry.

I'm a regular at Pet Food Express and come here just about once a week to bath Lola. Lola is 1-1/2 now and up until 6 months ago I had to carry here into the wash tub because she was so scared of it. She knows the drill now and no longer resists her bath. She actually looks forward to going to the scale to weigh herself and then into the bath. The store associates are friendly and they keep the wash stations clean

This is embarrassing.

We have been bringing Huckelberry to pet Food express for baths between his regular grooming. Normally we are greeted on our entry and the staff are friendly and helpful. Today was a totally different experience. When we walked in we were totally ignored. The staff were standing around talking. We were not greeted at all. When we got back to the pet wash area one staff member was busy cleaning the stations down. As he was about to leave, I asked him politely if he would please give me a couple of towels he pointed to where they were available. At that point I had my dog up on the wash stand. It's very clear from their signs you are not to leave pets unattended and I was by myself. I pointed that out to him and he repeated that I could get as many as I wanted. He made no effort to hand me a couple of towels which were easily within his reach and would've been helpful to me. I had to unhook my dog, pick him up and carry him over just to grab a couple of towels. I don't Know if it is a result of Covid or if customer service just doesn't matter at this pet Food express anymore.

Great customer service. Very clean environment. I love the self serve bath. It's limited to time so you can actually bath 2 small dogs at once. The time limit allowed is about 20 minutes (I think). It's a good enough time to bath your dog well and blow dry with the blow dryer. The hooks on the wall really helps to keep your dog in place. The overall experience for my dog is very positive. Free dog treats for your dog too! I weigh my dog each time on the easy to use scale so I know if I need to cut back on his treats or he is in shape.

tl;dr -- This store is the most caring, above and beyond customer service, blow your socks off customer care. They dont want to just sell you stuff. They want your pet(s) to thrive. Warning, this story is sad. I had a dog named Nurgle. He was a Blue Heeler x Kelpie cross. I adopted him from a shelter in Texas and he came with me when I moved back to California. Nurgle was special; he was a service dog for me. And on several occasions, other than doing his regularly trained tasks, saved my life multiple times. He was an incredible dog that touched the lives of everyone around him. He's always been a picky eater because of a health issue (that did not impact his working capability) So Pet Food Express ALWAYS came through with something else he could try within his -extremely- specific dietary restrictions. They ALWAYS upheld their return policy if he didn't like it (which was OFTEN.) They always gave him cookies in store. Always said hi to him and gave him a ton of love. Even tried to make him more comfortable when I took him for a bath. (He hated them.) About a year ago, Feb 2018, his behavior shifted dramatically. I'll spare a lot of the details here because it's a little complicated but he then also started to have seizures in June '18. Medically, he started to decline. Refusing even more foods and he stopped trusting a lot of people. He retired from his duties as a service dog. But one thing he never tired of was Pet Food Express. There was ALWAYS a happy face that he *loved* to give him treats and ask how he was doing. Absolutely everyone knew him and remembered his dietary issues without me sayin anything at all. Food after food, treats, CBD ... you name it. Nurgle has bought and tried every food (nearly) in the store. He loved his toys, from there too. But the employees never failed to brighten my day and make Nurgle feel like a regular, healthy dog. His behavior, and health took a rapid urn for the worst this year, in May. It became clear to me his quality of life was suffering. I made an appointment to let him take the big nap in the sky. I set a date. When I came to the store to tell Jenny (employee), she began a secret mission. A few days later, Jenny let me know that a few other employees (Chris, Taylor, Sami ... I'm forgetting names. I'll update when I remember the rest) wanted to throw him a puppy party. So the night before his nap, they got TONS of treats, Just Food For Dogs, Honest Kitchen and so much more and let him much and lay in the aisles and be a happy boy around his favourite people. Not only that, they let him wander around the store (and shoplift a cookie or two) sniffing and playing for a few minutes right after they closed, while they were moping up the aisles. We tossed a ball around. We laughed. We cried. But they even went beyond this. Jenny and Sami attending his celebration of life event the following day. I love you guys. Nurgle loves you too and he's not suffering anymore. Thank you, always.

Excellent customer service! Jenny is the best! It has been 3 years since my last review and I am happy to say this place is still 5 stars! I recently went here just 15 minutes before closing because I thought I knew exactly what I wanted. I had been at emergency vet all day, my puppy was just diagnosed with HOD and I needed to pick him up some new food. When I got there, I quickly realized they did not have the food I planned to get. They actually had a wide variety of healthier options. Jenny was amazing. She listened to what I needed and helped me look through all the options to find the best food for my puppy's condition. Although I offered twice to come back another day so she didn't have to stay late, she and the team insisted I stay and find what I needed. She aided me in finding the best protein, fiber, calorie combination for my puppy. He has been on the new food for a couple weeks now and is doing great! This store continues to hire the best people. Passionate, knowledgeable, caring, and with a level of costumer service I rarely experience not just in other pet stores but everywhere! If you need anything for your dog (especially if it is a unique necessity) visit this store and ask for Jenny!

My new dog!!

I rescued a dog yesterday and went to Pet Food Express in Pleasanton. They were all so helpful, had sample treats, helped me with toys. What a great experience. I'm going to shop here all the time, even though it's not the closest!! Thank you!!!

I cannot say enough about Jason and the staff at this store in Danville. In the midst of a pandemic the maker of my dogs food decided not to make it anymore. My poor pup has alot of food allergies and his stomach upsets easily. Duck is the only thing he can eat without issues. Jason jumped into high gear and found enough cans of wet food to get my Colonel safely through a transition to another food. The new food recommendations were perfect! Thank you Jason and staff you are an amazing team. I am so grateful.

Everyone is always so knowledgeable and helpful. Love how they have the adopt-a-pet on weekends too, and an area for the doggies to play.

Knowing it was my dog's very first groom , Anna was incredibly patient and showed kindness from the moment we arrived . My dog was a little anxious , but Anna had a calming presence that kept my dog at ease throughout the whole appointment . She was gentle , caring , and clearly took her time to make sure the experience was positive rather than rushed . You can tell Anna genuinely loves and respects the animals in her care . I had to call at 3:30 PM just to check, and they said he was "almost ready." I didn't pick him up until 4pm. When I got there, there was NO haircut done, just a blow dry. You couldn't even see his eyes. I had clearly asked for a teddy bear cut, but they claimed they thought I didn't want a haircut, which I never said. I didn't realize I had to say "haircut" since I'm already paying for the service. I left and came back at 7 PM after they said they would fix it. There was a slight trim around his face and ears, but still no proper haircut and the sanitary trim (which is included in the $70 package) was not done. I was told manager Joe would call me and never got a call from him. I had to call a couple days later. I asked for a partial refund since the haircut wasn't completed and the assistant manager let me know that the manager refused, even when I offered to just pay for the bath and blowout. Paid for a full grooming and didn't receive it. Poor communication, long wait, incomplete service, and no accountability. Would not return.

It was a friendly crowd, and we got to hold some of these fascinating reptiles after signing a waiver and making a donation or paying a small fee. We also supported some of the reptile rescue organizations by buying merchandise, plus shopped for gifts at the vendor booths. Entry tickets were $15 each. Parking was also $15 (though we had the missus drop us and pick us up). There was food available - we shared super nachos ($15 again!), which were filling and delicious. Bathrooms were well maintained, and there was hand sanitizer everywhere! Will be back next year!

This is an annual event very similar to Reptile Realms (a different reptile fest that happens at…read moremultiple locations in and around the bay area throughout the year)... plenty of snakes, skinks, geckos, chameleons, and more on display or for sale, along with habitats and other reptile supplies, and reptile-related merchandise (like toys, stickers, and apparel). Also, photo ops for five bucks if you want to hold a snake, presentations and speakers at different times (educating and entertaining visitors both on and off stage), and a concessions stand selling burgers, hot dogs, salads, and nachos among other things, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (dining tables and seating were outdoors though, even with the cold of winter). A few things I saw here that I haven't seen much of at the other reptile fests are rats as pets (usually only see them sold as food for reptiles), bats (several different species, which was cool to see up close), beautiful carnivorous plants, spider homes (creatively and playfully decorated), and yellow shelled turtles (albino, I believe). We also saw a lot more turtles and tortoises here than expected, especially during the final hours of the last day of the event. We didn't find the specific soil we wanted for our tortoise at home, as they had run out by the end of the event. But the vendors were friendly and helpful, offering future discounts at their actual store, and teaching us about their products as well as the general recommendations for certain species. So we learned a lot while there, and didn't go home empty-handed. We puchased a 3D backdrop for our tortoise habitat... saw one of the tortoises at the show with this and just had to get our own... so now our tortoise lives in the desert :D Event parking sucked! I've never had a problem with the lots at Alameda County Fairgrounds (for different types of events), but this was the worst. At $15 per vehicle, the parking design for this event was nonsensical (and they blocked off certain areas to make sure you followed this nonsense), I saw many cars getting stuck in narrow dead ends while looking for parking, going in reverse or making 10-point turns, and obviously interrupting the flow of traffic. That being said, this was still a fun event, nothing really extraordinary, but worth checking out especially if you are into reptiles or looking for a new cold-blooded pet.

I knew I was in great hands when I arrived early in the morning and took time to read the team bios. I was especially happy to learn that Melody is known for working with Shih Tzus. Although I do not live nearby, I would absolutely love to return. The service I have been receiving at my local PetSmart made me give up on them after four years of taking my dog there. Melody was thorough, addressed all of my concerns, and went above and beyond to educate me. She even updated the notes as well. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I highly recommend her! :)

This review is specifically for the grooming service (the store itself is fine--no issues there)…read more About a year ago, we brought in our Australian Shepherd for grooming. She had some matting, so we understood that some fur might need to be removed. However, they ended up shaving her down to the skin. As many people know, you should never shave a double-coated dog--it can permanently damage their coat. It took a full year for her fur to grow back, and even now, it's not the same as it was before. Hoping that was just a one-time mistake, we gave them another chance last week for a light summer trim. This time, she was not matted at all. I specifically explained our previous experience and clearly told the technician not to shave her. Unfortunately, when I picked her up, she had been shaved again--not to the skin like last visit but still very very short. At this point, it's hard to see this as anything but a lack of understanding or care when it comes to proper grooming for double-coated breeds. We won't be returning, and I would strongly caution other pet owners--especially those with similar breeds--to think twice before using this grooming service.

The advice feels genuine and experience-based, which is huge in a hobby where the wrong guidance can cost you time and money. Their selection of corals and fish is solid, and everything consistently looks like it's been handled with care. On top of that, their prices are very competitive--honestly better than most other places I've come across--which makes it even easier to keep coming back. He told me that I could sign up for the plan to get discounts and cancel it later anytime if I did not like it. A couple of months later I found I didn't really need the plan because I could buy many things from Amazon with cheaper prices, so I decided to cancel it to avoid the monthly charge $10.96. Then, I realized that I had signed up for a membership plan with an annual commitment, which was never mentioned by the guy who helped me. I suddently felt that I was tricked. How many people would actually read all pages of the contract? Fine, I could cancel it after one year. I wanted to make sure my membership won't be renewed after one year. Guess what! There was an option of turning off the Auto-Renew Plan function on Petco website and Petco App on my phone, but I was not able to switch it off (it's a fake switch). I was shocked and thought about whether the company made this on purpose. I wanted to visit the local store where I signed up for the membership, but I was too busy to go there and forgot about it. During the Christmas break, my daughter wanted to buy a light bult at the store, so it reminded me of asking my Vital Care Premier account. I showed the Petco app on my phone to one of the staff that I could not turn off the Auto-Renew Plan, and surprisingly she had no clue and suggested me to contact the Customer Service. A couple weeks later, I decided to try it one more time on Petco website. I used the online chatting function on Petco website to look for a solution and received a customer service phone number (They could not help me from the online chatting). When I was typing another message to explain my situation, the chat session was ended by the representative. Shouldn't the representative wait for my response to end the session? I then called the customer service and explained the situation. The lady who helped me could easily switch off the Auto-Renew setting from her side. This is RIDICULOUS! The company made the option available on the website and app, but customers can not do it by themselves. I had to waste my time to get it done (one trip to the store, online chatting, phone call to customer service) instead of a simple click on the website or app. I doubted that they knew it and just wanted to make the cancellation more diffcult.
