I'm not sure why but the last time I brought him, we pulled up to the business out front and he was shaking. His whole body was shaking. He had no intention of going in that Groomer and I'm not sure why he always has Been a little reluctant, but you have to listen to your pet and he's been my best friend for 12 years. I listen to him very carefully and he said no dad I won't go in there.? so I just bought some whisper, grooming, shears, scissors, oatmeal shampoo, and will be recruiting a couple of helpers and doing the best I can for my buddy !!!! I have been taking my chi terrier to get washed and have his nails grinded by Megan. We followed her when she left PetSmart. Megan has been great and so patient with him because he hates when his paws or nails get grinded. He comes out smelling so clean and fresh. I usually text her when I need an appointment. I suggest booking appointments a few months out. The pet salon is small but quaint, hidden from the street but it's behind a barber shop and next to a laundromat. We've gone from Pleasanton to Walnut Creek and haven't found any place as friendly, skilled and consistent. I've brought my dogs here now since the beginning of 2022 and have been exceptionally pleased every time we leave. My puppy Gemma (pictured) had her first grooming and looked incredible! From the prompt response to schedule our visits, the overwhelmingly accommodating, to the incredibly silky soft (& lovely smelling) coats after a visit (for my Pomeranian & Malti-Poo) I can't say enough good things. The wife and husband duo always hand you back a happy gorgeous pup! Heather was able to get Gemma back to her white coat, did her first cut of these lovely bellbottoms on her and groomed her face to perfection. I am so grateful to Heather and The Pampered Poodle. They have been booked solid for months but were kind enough to squeeze in two sanitary appointments for my 17 year old maltipoo. Because of his age and history of back problems, it's very difficult to find a groomer that is gentle enough to handle him. I stayed for the entire quick sanitary appointment (they shave under his belly and around his face, paws and back side to clean him up) and Heather was so sweet, patient and gentle with him. Diana groomed my medium sized corgi mix, who has a long furry coat. She brushed out his undercoat and trimmed and cleaned up his feet and backside. He is so soft and isn't shedding as much. He didn't like getting his nails trimmed but she worked with him and was very patient, she even gave me tips on how to work with trimming his nails at home. She brought him out to my car when I went to pick him up so I wouldn't have to unload the kids. I would highly recommend her services, she did an awesome job. read more

After our wonderful family dog Moke passed away, we brought our heart broken golden retriever Maggie to get groomed by the Pampered Poodle. It was our first and last visit. Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. Maggie experienced razor burn on both of her ears which resulted in oozing sores, terrible pain and a large vet bill. Despite my repeated attempts to amicably address the issue with the owner Diana, it's been over 30 days and she has yet to resolve. Unfortunately, I must conclude that the customer service in my case was very poor and she made me feel as if I were somehow at fault for the experience which added insult to injury. As such, I will need to resolve via the small claims court process. read more

Diane is the owner of The Pampered Poodle. She is very sweet and does an absolutely excellent job with grooming poodles. However, I would only recommend bringing your poodle here with the following conditions: 1. Your poodle's fur is not matted. Diane will not accept dog's who have matted fur. I believe she said it's due to her arthritis. 2. You're okay with leaving your dog here for several hours. The last time I brought my dog here for a hair cut, I dropped him off at 10 a.m. and he was not ready to be picked up until 6:30 p.m. Although his hair cut was fantastic, I really did not like that he was at the groomers for so long. He was really stressed out when I went to pick him up. I'm sure this would work out fine for some people. For instance, I have a friend that brings her dogs here and she likes it because she can drop them off before she starts work and can pick them up when she is done. Another plus about this place is that you can make an appointment here to have your dog's teeth cleaned. The lady that does it does a wonderful job and her rates are very low. Diane does an excellent job of grooming poodles. However, I would not take my dog here again. I think they keep the dogs there way too long and personally my dog's stress is not worth that good of a hair cut. read more

Pampered Poodle is a great shop Diane is the nicest person you will ever meet and after two years of her grooming and bathing my dog Bella I have not had a poor outcome. Additionally you will not find another shop in town with rates as reasonable as The Pampererd Poodle I have found that most other shops are easily $20 more per visit some much more than that. read more

This is my 100th review!! I knew it would be a special one. It involves my bestest buddy in the world: Atticus. He is my dog. A little background: After 18 years, my wife and I had to put down her Terrier mix dog. He was a very loyal and loving dog. We wanted to get another dog, but didn't want a puppy. We wanted to save a dog from the shelter. After nearly 2 years of looking and being disappointed that we couldn't find a small to medium size dog, we read a notice that the bay area agencies were holding a fair for hard to place animals in Jack London square. We arrived early on the Sunday morning and saw a lady walking a very unusual looking dog. Both my wife and I said that was the kind of dog we were looking for and hoped would be at the fair. Being that the fair was being held at the farmers market, we naturally assumed that the little guy belonged to that lady. We found the fair and took a look at all the dogs. There were some really nice ones, but none that stood out to both of us. After purchasing some items at the farmers market, I suggested we take one more look at the dogs. To our surprise, the one we wanted was in a pen! "This one is available for adoption?" we asked. Yes! (The lady walking him around earlier was a worker who was wearing a coat that covered up her volunteer shirt.) He was a stray that had been in the shelter for nearly two months. Because he was a stray, the shelter didn't now what to call him. They gave him some dumb name I can't even remember. My wife's favorite movie is "To Kill A Mockingbird". So we named him Atticus. After filling out the appropriate paperwork, we had our dog! Atticus wasn't fixed when we adopted him, so it was off to the vet for a snip, shots, and a check up. Fast forward 9 months. I've been taking him to the local pet store and using their self-serve baths. However, my wife insisted that we take him to a professional groomer to get rid of some of his undercoat, trim his nails, and clean his anal glands. I know I wasn't doing that myself. Did I mention that Atticus is a beagle / pug mix? (see his picture I added) And please don't call him a "Puggle". He is probably 8 years old. He is not a designer dog; he is unique. Anyways, After asking several friends who would they recommend, I was directed to the Pampered Poodle. It might be a little hard to find, but once there I realized I had found the right groomer. The Pampered Poodle is owned by Diane who is usually booked a month in advance. She was very helpful in explaining what they were going to do for Atticus and after 3 hours, we received the call to pick him up. He looked and (better yet) smelled awesome. He even had a little bow put on his collar (cute!) Diane said he was a great dog to work with and recommended that we bring him back every 3 months. I like that she didn't try to push a monthly appointment or some unnecessary nonsense on us. Very professional is what I can say about her and her staff. This is a small shop and the owner does most the grooming herself. She does a wonderful job on the grooming much better than anywhere else I've been. I have a poodle and maltese. We go every 6 weeks for about 2 years now. She really loves animals and I never worry when I leave my dogs. They are there for several hours but she takes good care of them. read more

We recently took our dog here to get groomed I have to say that my first impressions were well not the best, it was a hassle for me to even find the place and when I did find the location I didnt know where I was bringing my dog!! However, after I went in Diane the owner was very nice and sweet and asked exaclty what I wanted done and I told her I would be back later on and when I went back to get our dog she looked great!!! She had a great cut better than others that we have tried, so I have to say despite the location and the first impressions it was more than I had expected, we will continue to take her here!! read more

My dog spent 7 hours at Pampered Poodle today and got a terrible haircut out of it! This was our third try with these ladies but it is DEFINITELY our LAST!!!! There has got to be someplace that grooms pets in less time than 7 hours!!!! I think thatthis is animal cruelty and I ended up walking in and picking my dog up because enough was enough. I don't care how ovebooked, how matted someone else's dog was, how busy they are, if you have an appointment then your family pet shouldn't have to spend 7 hours at the groomers. I took my ShihTzu, Zoe, to Diana fearing that Zoe would fight her tooth and nail.....I have been told time and time again, that she is very difficult to groom. When I picked up Zoe and asked Diana how she did, she replied "fine". I had never heard that before and was amazed! She was able to cut her nails, which I always get charged extra for at the vet because Zoe is so difficult. I noticed that when I dropped her off, that Diana is a natural with dogs and talks so sweet to them. Whatever it is about her, Zoe, just loved her and took to her immediately. We have brought our pack to her salon since shortly after moving to town almost 11 years ago. She is very busy so I make my appointments in advance. We know they will be there all day so they go in when I work. They always act like they feel great after a day with Diana. And they look great too. She said she couldn't promise anything except that she would do what Abby would allow as it was her first time getting groomed. Terrible experience! If I could give no stars, I would! I had made an appointment for 3:30 the day after I called. When I showed up for my appointment, just to have my dogs nails trimmed, the owner, Diane, told me "I wish you would have called! I don't have time today." Why would I have called when I already had an appointment?! When I asked if she had time the next day she said not really and started throwing out excuses. I just told her I would take him somewhere else. She proceeded to call me the next day and leave me a lengthy voicemail telling me I should just take him somewhere else.... Yeah, no problem! The groomers seemed friendly however If your looking for professional groomer that are highly skilled in many pedigree please look elsewhere. They butchered my baby. Luckily, hair grows back! I think they should remove poodle from their name because the are not capable of that complexity of that haircut. read more
