I can't recommend this grooming salon enough! I bring both of my Pomeranians here and every single time we walk out looking like we just stepped off a dog-show runway. The fluff is perfectly sculpted, the face is round and teddy-bear cute, the paws are neat, and the tail looks like a cute pom-pom. No one else has ever nailed it like they do. Their staff is sweet and genuinely loves the dogs - you can tell the moment you walk in. They listen carefully to exactly what I want (I'm picky!) and deliver it every time. A very small shop with limited hands. Many people have commented on their lack of bed side manner..honestly most groomers are similar. They are pet people not people people. I was nervous because my chow chow always tries to leave when we walk in to the groomer but when he's all done ...she always gives him treats! And he would never accept treats from someone who isn't nice to him (he's very particular) so clearly he doesn't love the grooming but no fault to the groomer. They have done a great job with my Chow chow for years! Usually just giving him a bath and only needing to go in deeper if i let him get matted! They truly care for your pet! So so happy! We were "one and done" 4 years ago when we brought of Golden pup here. The prices were steep and the customer service was lacking so we moved our grooming needs elsewhere. I heard recently there was new ownership and I made a mental note to check it out. On a whim today, I called to see if they had an opening to handle my green-tinged English Cream after rolling around in freshly-cut, wet grass and mud. Not only were they willing to accommodate us but the new owners were lovely and my fur baby came out cleaner than I have ever seen her post-grooming. We will definitely be back! read more

I love this little shop. They do a good job grooming my pups, and they always give them a treat when we're leaving. Previous groomers I've been to kept my dogs all day, and I really like how they give you an appointment and then you can pick your pet up in 1.5-2 hours. They charge $65 for a grooming. My dogs always look adorable, but sometimes it's a little inconsistent. I think I need to figure out which groomer I like the best and only make appointments with that person. I love that it's a little local shop, and they also sell food, treats, harnesses, beds...you name it. Because of this, they're able to still be open for grooming during shelter in place. Horrible service. The front desk is just rude. Used the service there and here few times in last few years. It was recommended by neighbor. And i would mention to people when they ask since its down in plaza close by. But... i will NEVER recommend this place again. Customer service is so bad... never will use again. If they treat you bad can imagine how they treat your pooch. My dog had skin and eye infections after the visit, i did notice he had red eyes and skin when picked up. Hope it would settle after day, no, we were in and out vets for month+ for eye, skin infections. read more

PP's does a fabulous job grooming our dog. But their front desk service is rude, blunt and insensitive. Reminder phone calls come across as directive and borderline threatening. I showed up during the holidays with a box of chocolates. They front desk person took them, said nothing and literally threw them across the desk to the side. At first I thought I did something wrong so I waited to see how others were treated. About half were treated similarly. Hmmmm. That's not a passing grade. Maybe since this is this way since it's the only one in Blackhawk. Seeking another service asap! read more

Their grooming is good. However I had to deduct several stars for their customer service and scheduling system. After scheduling appointments 6-8 weeks in advance, for the second time, when we arrived for the appointment, they said it was not on their books. The y schedule their appointments by hand in an apptmnt book, and this obviously isn't working for them. Pls Pyreness Pet upgrade this archaic Flintstone process with an online scheduling system. How about one that automatically sends text message confirmation and reminders to customers. We plan our weeks and months in advance around the grooming appointments. Your current system and inability to accurately book and track appointments is causing your customers a lot of frustration.. if not addressed, customers may look elsewhere for service from a service that has their act together. read more

Amazing! Everyone thinks their dog is the cutest, but mine really is thanks to Pyrenees Pets! We've had our little Yorkie for two years and have been to 3 different groomers. I took my dog here because he had just been sprayed by a skunk. After bringing him home, I noticed he had trouble opening his left eye and there was some discharge coming out of it. I have gotten my dog groomed (at other places) countless times and this has never happened. I ended up having to take him to the vet that night because he could simply not open his eye. They prescribed him ointment for his irritated eye; the vet speculated that whoever groomed him must have gotten soap in his eye. Not only that, but they trimmed my dog's genital region. No other grooming salon I have taken him to has ever done this; they need the hair there to protect them. If you care about the well-being of your dog, please do not take them here. read more

This post is LONG overdue!! I can't say enough wonderful things about Pyrenees Pets. Groomers always wanted to shave Monty and I remember calling Tina when I first moved to the Bay Area 7 years ago. She was upset that people would even consider shaving a Pyrenees! He was a matted mess and they worked on him for hours. He came out gorgeous and the price was great compared to what other places wanted to charge to shave him! Through the years she has helped keep Monty and Zena healthy and happy. She knew exactly what to do and how to groom them when they would get hot spots or minor skin infections due to Bay Area weather. What to feed them as Monty aged and his skin and joints needed more attention. Moving to Millbrae didn't stop us going to Pyrenees Pets and visiting Tina and Janet for all of our grooming needs! If you have a Pyr and live in the Bay Area this place is a MUST!! Seriously don't even look for another location, even if it is out of your way! Thank you both for all of your care through the years! Monty had a very wonderful and spoiled life thanks in part to you! Zena and I will miss visiting, and hopefully we will find someone just as wonderful in LA to groomer her through her golden years. :) read more

I took my smaller older dog and my larger young dog (almost 2) there together. Neither had been to the groomers for 4 months, so the dogs were really overgrown. But the groomers did a fantastic job. The larger dog was so matted, they had to go pretty short. Nonetheless they looked great and seemed happy. There are fun things to shop for in the shop. They are a smaller shop so they get the dogs done so quickly. I liked that my two dogs could go together because my older dog is blind and gets scared easily. So she was able to be comfortable by the presence of her "sister". We will be going back. read more

The owners are nice, the staff is pleasant and the prices aren't expensive. I bring my dog Sadie in to clip her nails and it's always quick and easy. My dog is a little scared since she was abused before I found her on the side of the rd and she has no problem with their staff. They also have the best treats and items for your pets. read more

We had our pup groomed today at pyranees pets. He is a golden retriever mix with a lot of fur and they did an awesome job making his fur shorter but he still looks like himself. They were also able to cut his nails which other groomers have told us is impossible. We will definitely bring him back. Love the festive bandana! read more

I am very disappointed and angry with the service here. I went in to have my dog groomed (he's a yorkie mix). After checking in, I walked around the store to look around. While I was walking around, I saw an employee who was grooming a dog in the back room, and the employee was threatening to hurt the dog. The dog was visibly disturbed and terrified, but the employee continued to get close to the dog's face and yell at it. After seeing this, I canceled my dog's grooming session and I have not gone back since. I would advise that anyone considering having their pets groomed here should reconsider. Animal abuse is not okay and I am disgusted that a business who's sole purpose is to care for animals would treat their costumers with such disrespect and cruelty. read more

I've been grooming my 5 pound Yorkie since i got her 2 years ago. Due to recent hand surgery, I am unable to bathe or groom her. I called many pet grooming salons and Pyrenees Pets is the only place I could find that did not keep your dog for 4-8 hours. Since it was Quincy's first time and she is a nervous little girl, I didn't want to leave her for so many hours. I called and got an appointment the next day! Best part is that they kept her for only 2 hours. Tina did exactly what i requested and Quincy came out smelling and looking great! I wanted a very short cut for summer. ( I colored Quincy's hair pink at home. I am not sure if they do dog color) The only negative is the $10.00 extra for a dental brushing (I can't because my hand surgery) . I thought it was a little pricey for the tooth brushing. A slightly amusing thing was that when I came back 2 hours later, they didn't remember whose dog was mine. I have a great memory, and as a dental hygienist, I remember my patients that I haven't seen in 10 years, so I guess I assumed that they should know I was the owner of the "5 pound blonde Yorkie with pink hair" lol . Other Yelp reviewers have commented that the staff is rude. I agree that they are not warm and fuzzy, but they not rude. Just don't expect a warm, bubbly greeting upon entering. Overall, It was a great first experience and highly recommend this grooming salon. All dog grooming salons should have 2 hour window appointments just like Pyrenees Pets! read more

This place was recommended by several people and I don't know why. The women at the front desk are blatantly rude. Almost comically rude. I came in with my mini Aussie. I booked a grooming appointment, showed a picture, and told them several times I wanted her "trimmed" -- just trimmed. If you are a dog groomer, you should know what to do with an Aussie when someone says trim. They used clippers buzzing her down and completely destroying her undercoat. When I said she was too short and I wanted a trim, as I expressed many times before leaving, they said I should have then just asked for a "bath" because a "groom" inherently means they're going to use "clippers." Makes zero sense. And if that's the case, then they should have made that clear upon drop off when I showed a picture of how I wanted her to look. I couldn't have been more clear that I didn't want my dog shaved and that's exactly what they did. Oh, and then they charged $90 for the uneven hack job. read more
