THIS IS NEW OWNERSHIP. THE OLD REVIEWS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CURRENT STATE OF SHAMPOOCHES. The first picture is what my standard poodle normally looks like. She's been groomed every 3-4 months since she was 8-weeks old and is now 5-years old. Never once a complaint about her. Usually around $100 for grooming. The second picture is what my dog left Shampooches looking like today. $165 they charged because she "moved a lot on the table" and they had to completely shave her because "she had mats." My dog has been home for multiple hours, and is still terrified, squatting out of fear when you talk to her and keeps putting her ears back and flinching when I go to touch her. Never bring an animal you love to this place. Response to manager's comment: Good try, Ealen. I've never met you. And no one is going to believe that after coming to this place for 10 years between my two dogs and "always getting the same haircut" as you claim, I now suddenly have a problem with it. You're not fooling anyone when so many reviews have the same themes. Instead of writing manipulative responses, take some accountability so you can improve your business.

I take my fur Baby to Shampooches for nail trims, I like the fact that you don't have to make an appointment. Just drop-in. The staff is very friendly and helpful!
This all went down in early September 2021. After reading the glowing reviews I thought that I too would be able to write one up for them. Unfortunately that is not the case here. I want to start by saying that I had to leave a voicemail even though it was during their business hours. I have a 1 year old male corgi, who at the time was probably about 10 months old, and he had never been groomed before. This is vital information which I made sure that they were aware of in my first voicemail to them, and then again when I had spoken to someone on the phone, and again when they came to my car to get my puppy. So they do a car drop off and you call them and they will come to your car to get your dog. Pretty standard since Covid so I was fine with that. What should've been the "aha" moment for me was when the lady didn't use my leash to take him inside but instead she just picked him up. My boy is now roughly 28lbs but at the time he was exactly at 25lbs. That's not a small dog that you want to carry around, and I don't even carry him around at all. The vets office always takes him on our leash or on one of their own IF they are worried about sanitation. So this should've been my first red flag. I had of course mentioned he had never been groomed before, and when she asked what I wanted done I was very specific. I didn't want any part of him shaved except for his paw pads which is normal to be shaved out. I wanted a sanitary trim and his butt fluff to be trimmed as well, but not to touch his coat as he doesn't need that. They said they would call when he was ready and that it would take 2-3 hours or so before I would have to come back. I went about my day and was in Walnut Creek when they ended up calling. They called me to pick him up since he was anxious and I asked how he did and they said he was fine, but definitely to go get him as soon as I could. Well of course they had told me that they weren't sure how long it would take and that as long as I can get him by 4pm there wouldn't be any issue. The first time they called I had mentioned I was in the middle of something in Walnut Creek and I would be heading back in thirty minutes or so and that I would be there in about an hour. They then called me several times and asked how much longer when I had said initially an hour and it only ended up taking me about 45 minutes from the first call. My poor baby was super anxious when I picked him up and he just wanted to be with me so of course I let him do just about whatever he wanted and got out of there as soon as I had paid for the service. The grooming cost $70 and I added a $10 tip at payment and left without inspecting my dog since he couldn't sit still and was still super anxious. What I hadn't realized until the next day when we were home relaxing was that my dog was STILL traumatized and he had been shaved in several areas AND THEY CUT HIM. They shaved him which I had asked them not to, but no big deal it wasn't his coat so it wasn't the end of the world for me. BUT they didn't do anything to his paw pads which I had specifically asked them to do, which was the whole point of the grooming service. We typically have the vet techs trim his nails as needed, and since I am a cosmetologist I'll occasionally trim his sanitary area as needed. He doesn't like for me to touch his paws which is why the vet techs do it! So I was absolutely furious at this point. The receptionist talked to the woman who had groomed him, and she said nothing out of the ordinary and that he was fine the whole time. She then told me that the lady, Maria, was new! Which would've been fine if she had respected my wishes and done as I asked. The receptionist then spoke with the owner and said I could come back and have some sort of free or discounted services, but of course I didn't want to retraumatize my puppy and subject him to that again. I asked if they could do a partial refund since I can't see spending that amount on a poor service. I'm in the service industry and I know they still have bills to pay and after all he was washed and dried, and groomed to some extent. The owner was accepting of this and I ended up paying $50 total. Which I could in my opinion justify for the wash and dry and partial grooming that was done. I appreciate the owner and the receptionist for doing their part to make this right, but I hope that something was done about the fact that this even happened.
We have been using Shampooches for over 15 years with 3 dogs. Lulu is a rescue and had to get use to being groomed. Sue has always been caring and gentle with all of our dogs. Lulu has learned every girl needs a good cut! I would highly recommend them! You can even do walk in for a nail trim or face trim!
Thanks Anna and all staff. I'm sooo glad my puppies had a grooming today. I have a Bernedoodle(Pepper) and Westie(Junior) Junior barks when he meets other dogs and is excited a lot. I never tried him to get grooming in public; even I didn't expect Junior to get in today. After grooming, he looks pleased!! And pepper looks gorgeous! Thank you very much!! I'm looking forward to getting the next grooming for them!
Alex always does amazing with our Eddy's haircuts and style! He always comes home happy and with new energy- confidence booster we think! The bandana's are also the cutest. Don't think twice, Shampooches is the best place for the pups in town!
Took my dog for grooming today and ShamPooches did a great job! I will definitely bring Klei back!!

We've been bringing our "pup" here for several years, and he consistently receives exceptional care. He's a Lhasa Apso and can be quite finicky, but the team is incredibly patient, gentle, and attentive with him. They always take the time to understand his temperament and make sure he's comfortable throughout the grooming process. Tracy, the Manager at Shampoochees, greets us warmly every time and truly goes above and beyond. She communicates clearly about timing, listens to any special requests, and ensures his haircut is exactly how we like it. We also appreciate how clean and well-organized the salon is, and how happy and relaxed our pup seems when we pick him up. It's such a relief knowing he's in caring, capable hands. We wouldn't take him anywhere else! read more

Great grooming experience for our two dogs who were seriously overdue for a hair cut. Staff introduced themselves and you could tell they wanted to ensure they knew exactly what we needed. My male dog is snippy with the dryer and they managed it very well. They will be going for their regular baths in 2026. read more

Brittney is my groomer!! She is very professional and is very skilled! She's friendly and is very kind to my 11 year old Golden Annie! I've received many compliments on how well my dog is groomed. I have struggled to find a good groomer for our mini labradoodle/golden doodle mix but ShamPooches has been outstanding over the past year we've been taking her here. She sees Elan for grooming and we couldn't be happier! Elan and her staff are so nice and sweet with our pup. We've made small tweaks in the cut details and each time she comes out looking even cuter than the last. We are so thankful and recommend Shampooches to no end! read more

I have used Shampooches for a few years with my 26 lb. mutt. I have them trim her nails. They have always done such a great job. Recently I returned to them as the place closer to me closed. We asked for a short cut. The end result is definitely short, which I figure is the easy part. But the job around my dog's head is horrible. The groomer couldn't even keep the lines on her head look even or rounded; instead, they look uneven and jagged. The job looks like it was done in 20 minutes. How hard can it be if you just buzz the entire body short and only have to spend time making the head look nice? read more

Very bad service. If there is a negative stars I would give them. They kept my puppy for 7 hrs and they started grooming very late. They groomed my puppy very badly that I can't even recognize my puppy. I would never go back to this place again and would never recommend this shop to any pet lovers. read more

Shampooches is a fabulous place for grooming and bathing! Alex is our hero - after several months without grooming, our dog was a mess. Alex returned her to her beautiful fluffy self with such care and attention to her health and safety as well as her appearance. The whole team at Shampooches is super kind and loves dogs. I especially recommend Shampooches for Doodles. Our neighbor with a labradoodle recommended them to us, and we couldn't be happier to have found Alex and the Shampooches team! read more
