My first sessions went really well. She knew how to calm my temperamental dog and groom her with no biting. Yvette suggested frequently bringing her in two times per week just to get used to the environment around other dogs. Caring for my brother through hospice, I explained to her I would have to hold off a few months. When I was able to resume a consistent schedule on a regular basis, she said she was booked through the holiday so it would have to wait. After 2 months, I brought my schnauzer back in. Yvette peeked around the corner, and almost in a shouting fashion said: OH NO WERE ARE NOT TAKING THAT DOG. You didn't come bake for training so we can't help you. This was rather embarrassing as I was getting scolded in front of all the groomer "unfairly" I might add. She was rude, unprofessional with a bad attitude. Not the person you want grooming a dog that needs patients. read more

Yvette is really nice and she was able to add our little doggie for a full grooming appt at the last minute. She did a wonderful job with Piglet! Also, her shop is AWESOME because there are cats hanging out in there! There is a resident kitty name Cowboy who is the sweetest guy. If I didn't have three other kitties, there was a high chance of a cat-nap happening. read more

I thought I yelped this place when I took Rudy in a couple years ago. I guess I hadn't. Rudy was on the waiting list at Shampooches but I was anxious to get him in for a grooming. Let me tell you a few things about Rudolf -- yes, with an f. I have trimmed his nails, brushed his teeth and bathed him since kittenhood. I have trimming tools but I was always scared to use a razor. That's why I would take him to groomers. He's a Nebelung cat -- a long haired Russian blue if you will. Rudy is a teensy bit spoiled. This was the closest groomer and closer to where I lived than Shampooches so I took the regrettable risk. I loaded Rudy into the car within his dog sized carrier with his blankie and a few toys. When I returned I saw that he was not smoothly trimmed. He was wailing and his carrier stank of urination. Here's the summary I got from the groomer: * He bit me * I removed his collar because it's too tight. That's cruelty to animals . [Rudy is a little larger than average. He had a dog collar on -- not tight] * I can't get the smell out. He got nervous and urinated * He's difficult No one has ever said such things about Rudy. I usually hear that he's a joy. I've also had vets tell me that they were shocked at how clean I keep his teeth. Since then I've been determined to find an excellent groomer or get up the guts to shave him with an electric razor myself. I guess at some level I was searching for a yelp that would specifically read, "this person will be very nice to Rudy." Today, I took the plunge and got a groomer grade razor. I know that pets prefer their people to strange groomers but Rudy actually rolled over for me to shave his tummy!!! He also purred and licked my fingers during. This made me angry all over again. Just say no to this place! If you have a referral to a better place go there!!! Go there or do it yourself. Your pet will thank you. read more

I strongly don't recommend this place. Today I took my 1 yr old Shih-tzu for grooming and specifically told don't cut it too short and showed pictures of how we wanted, after listening and agreeing to do their best. After 2.5 hrs when we went, it was shocking all they did was full shave without consulting with us, moreover, they cut vein accidentally, but didn't bother to inform us. We noticed and asked, then they casually responded saying it happens most of the time without even asking sorry for cutting vein and not informing us also. such an irresponsible response. After coming home, my pet is very scared and not eating properly, we feel they treated him rude/because they cut his vein and he is scared of all these. Don't ever go back to this place in my pets lifetime and I strongly don't recommend it. I could't select 0 star, hence selected 1 , not even worth it. read more

Oh my God I just picked up my doggies from VIP grooming. Yvette did such a wonderful job on my bichon and poodle. She is my doggies forever groomer ‍ read more

This place does the job but it's not the best. There are maybe only 1-2 groomers on staff at a time so don't expect your pet back till later in the day. I would use them over Petsmart tho! Be warned......they do not take dogs that hate to be groomed even if it's on a muzzle. read more

I took my golden retriever to be groomed and had a horrible experience. First they did a bad haircut and second he received razor burn in multiple locations around his face and ears. By the next morning he had a oozing swollen face and a $255 vet bill and weeks of antibiotics he is finally improving. I will never take any of my animals there again. read more

We were looking for a nice place to take our dog. We'd went to Shear magic once and we weren't really satisfied with them, kinda like a sweat shop.. So then we called Wine country pet spa and the lady who took the calls was rude and not receptive to taking new customers.. Then we found Yvette! She was SO nice and welcoming! She did a fabulous job on our furry baby. He looked happy and cute when we picked him up. She put a cute little bandana on him, she really was great! She said if we'd like any alterations to the cut we could bring him back for touch ups.. Before she took him she went through pictures of different styles, and showed us how short the hair would be by using a model.. I'm so glad we found Yvette!! Thank you! read more

Vip Pet Grooming - Our furry baby, Marley. Before and after! He's cute and cool for Summer! Thanks Yvette! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Livermore, California

Since my first review Tito has been going to Yvette for all of his grooming appointments. The last time he went will be the last time. I dropped him off at 11am and asked if there was any way he could be done by 12:30pm (I had a AT&T appointment at 1:00pm), she said it wasn't possible and he would be done by 3pm. It wasn't ideal but I was willing to make it work. Out of the blue I received a phone call from her at 12:00pm that he was done! (Shocking because I was told there was NO way it would be possible) I unfortunately was in a hurry to get to my cable appointment and didn't take a look at her work (she had done just fine in the past so I didn't think it was necessary). I arrived home and was shocked at how terrible the hair cut was. I would have much rather waited until 3 to pick him up than this terrible cut. Very disappointed!! read more

I've taken my two labradoodles, Susie and Mal, to get groomed by Yvette a handful of times now, and she does a wonderful job - good enough that my mom and brother both take their two dogs to her now too! I am always able to get an appointment, her prices are more than reasonable, the cuts are always well done/not too short or poodle-y, and Yvette never gets judge-y or adds on surprise fees because one of my dogs (normally very well behaved but a terror as soon as a comb comes out) is difficult to groom. I can't recommend VIP pet grooming enough! read more

I would give ZERO stars is that were an option! **BEWARE: The dog you take in will NOT look anything like the dog you pick up** I have a well mannered medium sized white terrier. We have used Shampooches in San Ramon for 7 years, but when we moved to Pleasanton I decided to try VIP Groomers. MISTAKE. After having me fill out a detailed "how I want my dog groomed sheet" which included my contact info (cell and home), I then verbally described the desired cut ... puppy face, long ears, close body and cleaned up tail. I wish I could post a pic! The ears were cut as close as possible to the cartilage (outline of her ear). She went in with long cocker spaniel ears and came out with PUG ears. I am NOT kidding!! Her tail is so closely cut, my dog is walking around trying to hide her behind. Her feet (all 4) are not trimmed, we are talking long uneven hair all around the outline. The best part? A big bush of hair left in between her eyes that I keep having to guide straight so one or both eyes aren't blocked! A TERRIBLE cut. 100% NOT what I had written down. My daughter picked up and paid. The owner stated "her ears were so matted I had no choice" BS! When I came home I immediately called the store and left a vm. I asked 'why didn't you call me and tell me and get direction? Maybe I would have said "sure, ruin my dogs hair" but more likely I would have said, "do nothing, I will take her to Shampooches that has NEVER had a problem with her ears" I told the lady she lacked any professionalism and that I was flabbergasted at her decision making skills. I told her "you can't give me back my dogs hair, but the LEAST you can do is give me back my $60" I left my number. No surprise, she hasn't called me back. I've called the store twice today and it went to the machine. If you want your dog's hair completely GONE and uneven and oddly long in odd places ... well this is your place. I WILL NEVER BE BACK. read more

What can I say.... service was excellent! My westie always looks top notch, like a little model when he comes out . As far as the negative reviews...animal people are crazy. We all know that . And I am an animal person. But when you mix a crazy person with a crazy animal person. They become monsters. Hence the minor few negative reviews. I would ignore them, like you ignore a crazy person on the street. This place is fair in price. And does a good job! read more

I'm new to the area and was in desperate need to get my pup groomed with short notice. Luckily I found Yvette. She was so sweet and got my Dixie in right away! Thank you so much Yvette read more

I will NEVER again take my dog there. The groomers are the owner and daughter, the owner is very rude, makes your dog wait in an old box she refers to as a 'kennel', and NEVER CHECKS THE DOGS SHE WORKS ON FOR RABIES!! BEWARE! The final time I took my Lhasa Apso there, she burned and nicked him in multiple places, and yelled at my dog when I picked him up calling him a bad dog and accused my dog of biting her. The ONLY time my dog bites is if you are VERY rough with him. On top of that, I pointed out that she did not even cut his chest or belly and she proceeded to give me the hardest eye roll I have ever seen. Never AGAIN will I ever put my dog through that. This place should be shut down! This place gets 0 stars from me, the only reason she has 1 star from me is because this website does not allow you to leave it blank. read more

NOT Professional at all! We will never take our pet there again. We took our dog to her for a simple bath and trim and when I came back to get our dog, after being called that she was ready...I walk in to find my bathed dog laying on her dirty, cut dog hair floor. She opened the little door to let my dog out, no leash on and when I asked for her leash had to ask what it looked like. Then I get my dog outside to find goop in BOTH of her eyes....wasn't she JUST groomed?????? I know for a fact, as I have family that was in the same business for 45 years, this is NOT good business. My dog was NOT trimmed, eyes were dirty and she had other cut dog hair (of a different color) hanging off of her tummy. read more

Evette was wonderful to work with. She helped me with my small dog's grooming that PetSmart stopped halfway through the job because they said my dog was too wild. Evette took me in within an hour and fixed Bella's cut in no time and no troubles. I highly recommend her. read more

I've been taking my Golden Retriever here for about 2 years now and I've always had great results. They shave her coat real short during the hot summer months and my dog loves it. Price is rite and my dog always looks good when she leaves the shop. :-) read more

I searched Yelp for groomers in Livermore and ended up calling these guys first. I called and spoke to Yvette and she was very flexible and accommodating. I called her on Monday afternoon and asked her to do a full groom on 2 Golden Retrievers. She got me in on Wednesday and did a fantastic job on my dogs. I couldn't be any happier with the service and price. Yvette was a pleasure to deal with and she has made a regular customer out of me. Thank you Yvette! read more

I have 2 dogs that needed nail trims today, so I called at 8:30 to set up an appointment. Yvette said to"come on in"! They were so loving with my dog, did the job and had her back out to me in about 5 minutes. When she told me the cost, my jaw dropped and before I could stop myself, I said... "you really need to charge more!" I hurried back with my Lab and both dogs were delighted with their nails. I was thrilled to have such a nice dog groomer in our neighborhood. We will be back! read more

Yvette, the owner, booked solid two days before thanksgiving, took my, 105 mix bloodhound, & German Shepherd, and groomed her. To me that is off the chat fantastic customer service. She even recommence mobile service. I told her I have never had luck with mobile service as they never answer their phone and she agreed whereupon she took Annie. Good bless VIP SERVICE. They have a new address change to, 160 N. L., ST. Livermore. Cheers to you all. read more

I have been taking my mini golden Daisy Belle here for a year. I am a last minute person and so I never make appointment too far in advance, but every time I call, they work me in with no problem. Daisy gets a haircut, bath, nails, ears, and teeth for a great price!! I won't take Daisy anywhere else. I am not sure why this place is getting such bad reviews. I really enjoy the way my dog looks and I receive great customer service when I call. I highly recommend VIP pet grooming. In fact, my pup has a reservation this weekend :) read more

Yvette is hands down the best groomer you can take you dog to. She has taken the best care of my dogs for many years now and I am shocked at any negative review and must wonder if they stem from something else. She has always be upfront and honest and most of all extremely caring of all of my pets (including my difficult dog). Really folks I wouldn't put it out there if it wasn't so. read more

I can not express how much of a blessing Yvette is. She has taken care of all my dogs and their grooming needs. She is always professional and very kind. She loves dogs and it shows in her work. She always takes such great care of my fur babies. I will never take them to anyone else. Even when I have moved to different cities, I will still make the drive so she can take care of my dogs. Thank you for all you do Yvette! read more

I used Vip Pet Grooming a few months ago when I needed to get my cat groomed simple because he was shedding constantly on my area rugs at home. This place was close to my home; therefore, convenient. I dropped Tigger off in the morning around 9 a.m. and was asked to pick him up in the afternoon around 4 p.m. They only have 2 groomers which may explain an all day deal. However, that gave me an opportunity to get a lot of cleaning done at home as a result of Tigger's shedding. When I pick up my cat, he looked great. They told me he was a sweetheart...actually loved being groomed (this was his very first time and usually he is afraid of people). So I was happy that he cooperated so well. As for the grooming he received well it looked great. They gave him a "lion cut" which was perfect. I plan on returning this Friday to get Tigger groomed again. read more

Do not take your dogs to this groomer! I have 4 dogs and I took my 10 year old poodle and 6 year old yorkie here. When I went to pick up my dogs, they were locked in cages. They are such happy dogs normally, but looked so sad and depressed. The place looks dirty and very unprofessional. It was way over priced and when I got into my car I noticed that there was blood drops allover my BMW. I looked and saw my poodle's foot covered in blood. They cut her nail so deep that I couldn't even see a nail. I had to take her to the vet to get antibiotics for her foot. My dogs are very well behaved, so this just proves to me the lack of experience and professionalism of this groomers. read more

Yvette is the greatest! Took my dog in to see her today and before she took him back she went over the different cuts we could do on him to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted. When he was done he looked great and she pointed out a spot of irritation that is noticed before (thought it was from his collar) and she recommended a great topical to put on it. Could not be happier with our experience with VIP pet grooming! read more

I would love to be writing something positive about my experience but in my case I cannot. I have photos of the razor burn that someone from VIP caused on my White English Retriever. The razor burns were bad enough, but within three days they became infected and we had to take him to the vet for treatments. $250 later and our dog was on antibiotics and on the road to recovery. The cut that my boy received from VIP was also choppy and multi-leveled. On his jaw where the razor burn was the facial hair was cut to two different lengths. I guess after they saw blood they adjusted the clippers. The cut on the legs was not smooth, and the hairs on his feet were NOT finished or neatly trimmed. All in all it was like someone new had finished his trim, or someone was in a hurry and overbooked to many appointments that day and had to hurry through the appointments that were booked. I went back after the vet visit to see if VIP would pay any of my vet bill, and all I got was the runaround about how she would never release any dog that received any injury from her without telling us. Also, she simply did not take any responsibility for the injuries and lawyered up. We have two dogs that have gone to VIP on three or four occasions, and we never had anything bad happen like this before but for my money I won't be taking my boys back anymore and I would advise you to find someone else to clip your dogs read more

this place does not rate a star - they are that bad. several years ago, my wife and i lived in pleasanton, and had utilized this grooming location when it was run by a different person. the first, and only time, we took our three yorkies to the current owner, one of them, toby, was severly injured. he had chemical burns on most of his lower belly, and had lost a tooth in the mesh screening. he had to undergo three surgeries to currect his burns. we subsequently won a law suit agaist the owner, but she has not complied with the court order. just do not use this groomer read more

2nd and last time I take my dog to this groomer. The first time I took my dog there, she barely asked me how I wanted her to be groomed (lenght of hair, tail, ears etc.) I had to volunteer the specs. When I picked her up, she had her ears and tail long like I requested by the rest was shaved so short that you could see her skin. Plus you could see the cuts of the shaving in all directions. I thought "hair will grow up" - difference between a good and a bad hair cut: 7 days. So I took her a second time. I asked her if she keeps notes from last time (my previous groomer used to do it). She said yes so I told her to basically leave a little bit more length than last time and do everything else the same. When I picked up my dog I had a heart attack. Her ears were completely shaved and the rest of the body was barely shaved, showing those cuts in all directions. I have serious doubt that she even shampooed her at all. Now, that I'm saying, I should have asked if shampoo is part of the deal or not. Anyway, it will take a while until he ears grow back. And for all this she charges me $40, which I consider a decent price for a 10lb dog as long as my dog looks good, which is definitely not the case! read more

I am very very disappointed in VIP Pet Grooming. In an attempt to support local businesses I made an appointment for my miniature schnazuer. After 4 hours, I was able to pick him up and was informed that the cost would be $40 but that I'd receive a $5 discount because she had knicked his ear beause he sneezed. Although I was very concerned about my dog and his ear I appreciated the honesty and tried to be reasonable. Then I went home and removed the dog collar and scarf they placed around his neck only find a 1 inch cut on his chest and a 1/4inch scrape next to it and then behind the knicked ear a very very close shave exposing the bare skin and finally an uneven eyebrow. All of this is very disappointing, and I regret that I paid even $35 for my dog to experience such pain in 4 hours with VIP Pets. The owner said she'd been there 2 years and the business had been there for 28 years. None of this makes them worthy of continued business. I am giving them one star only because it's required to post -this business is unworthy of grooming pets. read more
