My pup is quite nervous during baths, nail trims, at the vet, etc. She's very sweet but makes grumbling sounds when she's nervous and some people take it as growling or aggression but I know the difference. I am extremely disappointed with Petopia Mobile Dog Grooming. Last time when we used their mobile dog grooming service, a day after our dog's grooming appointment she had severe skin infection and we had to take her to the vet and give her antibiotics, topical medicines and shave her fur on the back to recover. Our Vet mentioned in the prescription that this has happened due to contaminated grooming equipments or shampoo. We emailed Petopia as per our Vet's advice, so that it comes to their attention and they could take proper safety measures in future for other dogs. Petopia never even replied back. It took almost 6 months for our puppy's fur to grow back fully. It was very difficult to see the pain that our puppy went through when we had to administer topical medicines on her wounds during first couple of weeks. I hope this review is helpful and help others who are unaware of something like this may happen due to negligence of grooming service providers. read more

It's been years since my dogs' last grooming with a groomer. Both have had bad experiences, getting cut on their skin and nails cut too short where they bled. My father has been grooming them since. Lately, it was getting to be too much for him so I decided to take a chance and find another groomer. With covid, I decided to look for a mobile groomer that would come to my house. I checked on yelp and there weren't many that were listed in my area. Petopia was one of the top 5 that popped up. I know the business is fairly new but given the five 5-star reviews, I decided to try them. Melanie responded quickly and scheduled my dogs for the following week. This review is very long overdue. I won't be able to sum up how grateful I am to Richard and Melanie for their service excellence. I have four dogs. Two frenchies, a corgie mix, and a Shih Tzu. My Shih Tzu is a a senior, is completely blind, and has several comorbidities which include hypothyroidism and lymphoma. She is very aggressive towards people and is easily frightened especially due to her poor vision. We've been turned away by several groomers and often times when we've taken our Shih Tzu to petsmart, they rush to complete her haircut and several things are missed. With all of this said, we decided to try Petopia because their truck is always in our neighborhood. Melanie and Richard are the owners of this company. Booking the appointment was very easy. They are extremely communicative and will tell you exactly when they're coming. When Richard showed up at our home, our Shih Tzu was initially fearful, but Richard gained her trust through therapeutic touch and tactful communication. He spent almost 3 hours grooming her. When she was done, I will honestly say that Shiloh looked like she could be on the cover of a magazine. She smelled amazing and every crevice of her body was clean. I had my 2 Border Collies groomed today by Petopia. They arrived on time and were very professional. They were great about introducing themselves to my dogs and didn't seem to be in a rush. My dogs happily went into the van with him. They have their own power and water and did not need to hook up to my house which was nice and convenient. Their van looks brand new. My 16 year old Zoey has not been groomed since Shelter In Place in March. Our mobil groomer chose not to continue so we were thrilled when we found Petopia. I was hoping to love them. I found them on google, they were the few that popped up for Mobile grooming in my area. They over booked , so they reschedule me the next morning which wasn't a big deal. When the groomer came, he seemed a little confused in what I was asking him to do as far as a cut style. Anyways, I let my 7 month old puppy go first. I'd go check up every 30 mins. After almost 3.5 hours, I went to check on him. In my 15 years of having a dog, with experiencing bad grooming. This one was the worst! My poor puppy's hair was uneven on his whole body. They shaved off his top hair. Literally! I was mortified. We had to stop the groomer from cutting our other dog. When I say, this was the worst, it was very bad. I had to shave my poor puppy.
