While the prices are a little on the higher side, we've always been impressed by the quality. The store itself is also beautifully decorated, with so many cute details that make it a pleasure to browse. We've also visited their location in Marin, which carries a similar selection of lovely products. Definitely one of our dog's favorite shops and a must-visit whenever we're in the area. They said they were able to set one aside for me (date set), but if I wanted my pup's name on the cake - I'd have to call to order 2 weeks ahead. I now know that for the future. There was a part of me that as worried my picky pup wouldn't like the cake as it is made with all pet friendly ingredients... but I was very very surprised he loved it so much, especially the frosting! He literally had an orange lip once he pulled his face off the cake finally! It was so quick and easy to run in and pick up the cake I called ahead for. Thank-you so much for the quick service! They are much more resilient than standard aquarium fish. I ask the kid near the tanks for a couple of scoops of feeders, maybe 20 or so. Punk starts demanding what size tank I have and what kind of fish. NONE of his business. I reiterate I just want feeders. He states hes the manager of the store and refuses to sell them to me. Goes on some weird rant about how the feeder tank is "thousands of gallons of water" and it's his responsibility to NOT sell me fish unless I tell him my tank size. I kept repeating they were feeder fish. He kept on about it being his responsibility to make sure the fish were going to be appropriately taken care of. FEEDER gold fish. In the end I just left and went to PetSmart where you're not grilled by some snot kid about feeder fish care. If my kid keeps with her fish project, I will certainly NEVER buy at Petco. Most infuriating Mother's Day experience ever. And their Bettas looked half dead as well.

At PFE we get a bath token for $20 and I get to clean Roux with our preferred shampoo, de-shed and blow dry him completely dry (because he's a little guy and the token is for 25 mins of bath time). We love the food samples and picking up our treats and new kibbles here as well. They have a large selection of excellent, high-quality dog foods and treats. Roux is 10 years old, doesn't eat grain or fillers, and looking forward to plenty more years of happy living, so we really enjoy browsing and trying new options here!

Fortunately, the traffic wasn't too bad and when we arrived, there were three stations open including one with an oxygenated hydrogen peroxide comb fitting. We used that fitting once before when Princess got skunked. The purpose of the comb is so you can get the cleaning liquid through all the fur to the skin. Especially useful when washing a dog with double coat. After five minutes of that, we switched to the shampoo of the season and proceeded with a regular wash, rinse and dry. When we were done, Princess was back to smelling like a dog!

This location uses ABC Cam, and only two zones (which are infrequently used) are visible. The room that is visible from the window in the store is not viewable online and hasn't been for a while. It gave me great peace of mind knowing that my boys were having fun while I was busy making that doggo treat money. Every time I've mentioned it to the staff and inquired about when it might be fixed, I've received shrugs and confusion in return. For all I know, it could be a bureaucratic nightmare to fix. Again, this issue isn't something I'd remove a star for. The staff has always been really nice and there are brands at this location that are not at the other Dublin PetSmart. Not only does it look terrible on the shelf, but it makes it impossible for a customer to get more than half a dozen cans safely home. I will have to rethink doing my large hauls there if they don't/can't save a handful of intact boxes for their customers (I asked at the counter and was told that all of the intact boxes had already been recycled...). Also, they could really use a better offering of kitty litter boxes. I have to go to Pet food Express to get what I need. It would be great if they could carry some less expensive cat toys too. When I came in, there was a gentleman with a big dog who checked in before me and I asked the sales clerk if there was room for my dog. She said you could use the middle one. When I arrived, there was another gentleman washing his dog at one of the lower stations so my only choice was the center station. My dog is medium sized so I had no problem with the middle station. Surprise surprise it was not working. The hose had a whole hole in it and sprayed water everywhere. The dryer for the center station did not work. After getting a shower myself, I had to wait to access one of the dryers for my dog. The towels they have available to dry dogs are hardly better than rags, they are thin and not very absorbent. The clerk could've simply said the middle station was broken and that I could wait until one of the other stations was available. When I made a comment to another sales clerk who came along to clean up after the other dogs, he said he was well aware of the broken hose and the dryer, and that it had been that way for some time. If you're going to bathe your dog yourself, the pet food express on Santa Rita has better and cleaner stations.
