We have a 2 1/2 year old Mini Goldendoodle - Louie and overall he's a good dog and we just needed help with certain commands. I watched numerous training videos online and did a group training (I don't recommend that either) - nothing helps since you need hands on private training and that's how I found Patti on here. We did 6 sessions and she helped us train Louie and focused on his reactivity, basic walking commands, door bell reactions and recall. Patti came over to our house for a few sessions and the rest of the sessions we met at a park or a public place so that she can teach us the real world situations when we're out with Louie. She explains everything very well and why dogs behave the way they do. She'll take photos and videos and send follow up notes as well to help us remember everything we learned each session. It's a lot to learn and you have to continue to practice everything and you'll see a difference in your dog's behavior. We've seen a difference in Louie and very happy with the results. Patti is AMAZING at what she does! We opted to have our 18 month old Bernedoodle, Shera, sign up for her board and train program. While it was initially slated for 2-4 weeks, it was determined she would need some additional work. Patti did so on her own accord, and did not charge for anything further. I was amazed at how dedicated she was to seeing progress made with our girl. Shera really struggled with respect and obedience. As a very stubborn girl, she hardly listened to commands, and often jumped on people and occasionally would nip at hands after getting riled up. That, and constant barking. After we got her back from the 6 week program, it's a night and day difference. While we still have work to do, and Patti will be assisting us for the 6 weeks of follow-up sessions to give us the tools to continue her trainings, it's clear to me that our girl Shera is in a significantly better state, and has really strengthened our relationship and bond. Our Charlie is a 7 months old Labrador retriever. We got when he was 7 weeks old. He was so adorable, but he came home with severe biting. He was biting and chewing everything/everyone in the house. It almost took us 2 months to stop him from biting and scratching. As he grew, he started developing more bad habits. If we are busy with work, he will find things to destroy -blinds, furniture, books and whatever he sees. He started countertop surfing. Biggest issue we faced with him was his excitement on strangers. He will jump on them with excitement. So it became a nightmare for us to take him for walking. Walking itself was a challenge as he pulls the leash constantly. Whatever treats and training we tried did not work on him. He was full of energy. He was already 50 pound and 6 months, and then we realized that we need to get a professional trainer as he is getting stronger day by day. Patti is absolutely amazing and a dog whisperer. We brought our 5 month old Aussiedoodle , Bear to Patti for 16 days. Before training he was out of control with his "puppy" phase. We had a serious, urgent dog issue where we needed to consult with a professional before deciding to have our dog euthanized or not. Our family dog bit our daughter (she was OK), and we wanted to know if he was able to be worked with and rehabilitated so he could be trusted around the family again. I'm not sure what we would have done without Patti.... I adopted my first rescue on August 12th (Mishka is an adorable, white, fluffy, 3 1/2 year old, 35 lb male dog - with known "trust issues" and had been known to bite when being leashed). That night he entered his new home where my other dog (an 8 year old female English Springer Spaniel, Bailey) was recovering from the loss of her companion Dudley - another Springer - who died in July. Thinking back I'm not sure she needed a new friend as much as we did - lol. I was scheduled to go to New York at the end of the month for a week, and I quickly realized there was no way I could leave the two dogs together at home (given their backgrounds), even though they seemed to be getting along pretty well; they would NOT share food, toys or a bed well and neither is crate trained. I turned to a few friends and "dog people", none of whom was ready (or able) to step in. Thankfully Patti came to the rescue. I just started using her as a Trainer for both dogs, and asked if she would consider taking Mishka for the week and start a more intensive training with him. She said she would!! What a relief - the week included the Labor Day weekend and I was getting desperate! Bailey and my roommate could stay home and Mishka could have a week off from us, but a week of training. For me, it was the perfect solution! It is now two months later and we continue to work with Patti - training both dogs. Mishka still barks and has trust issues with strangers (especially those that want to leash him), but he no longer tries to run away and is settling in quite well. He has definitely found his "forever" home! Realistically, without Patti he would probably have had to be returned; that would have been a loss for everyone (and I'm not sure he would have been given another chance). Patti is the absolute best! We found our dog, Penny on the side of the road. She was less than a year old, infested with ticks, not spayed or chipped and just looking for love. We brought her home, and though she was very loving and smart(and stubborn!) definitely needed some help! We tried a puppy/ dog group class and made very little progress until I found Patti! I cannot recommend Patti enough! She completely transformed our rescue dog and showed my husband and I how to modify our own behavior to be good pack leaders and encourage positive behavior. Our rescue came to us as a young stray with clearly little human interaction and no previous training. As a result he quickly developed bad habits including incessant demand barking, leash aggression, and resource guarding. With a six session training package Patti showed us how to positively end unwanted barking, diminish poor behavior on the leash, and end our dog's need to guard his food. Instead, she taught us how to help him look to us as his caretakers through consistently positive but firm methods. We decided to add a second dog to our family. Our hope was to double the pleasure, however our six year old Keeshond and our new Keeshond puppy created complete chaos! The older dog was a nervous wreck. The puppy was out of control. We worked with two other trainers and had very little progress with our dogs coexisting. We spent several days researching and talking to various trainers in the Northern California area. We were not comfortable leaving our dog in their care until we contacted Patti. Our puppy spent time with Patti and learned how to coexist with other dogs, sleep in a crate, and now knows all commands required to keep him well mannered and safe.
