On more than one occasion, the shop was closed on the day of their scheduled appointment, with only excuses afterward. Even worse, they have been known to shave dogs without the owner's approval, which is completely unacceptable. They also charge $100 or more and insist on cash only, which feels unprofessional and questionable. I've had multiple warnings from other dog owners not to go there -- and now I understand why. The name "My Loyal Pup" is misleading. If you love your dog, stay away from this place

Fast forward to randomly meeting Tamara, energetically greeting dogs to take on a hike, and my life immediately changed for the better. My dog actually wanted to jump into this 'stranger's' car herself. I found the person I could trust. My biggest concern has always been my dog's safety. There is truly no detail spared when it comes to the safety of these dogs. Tamara starts with a meet and greet in order to assess the dog's response to recall as well as their fitness level. Once they're approved and start hiking they are secured into the car while traveling to and from the hike. GPS tracking devices are provided for their collars. And there is additional staff depending on the amount of dogs per walk. These dogs have an absolute BLAST. They come home happy, tired, and CLEAN! Tamara does a thorough tick check on each dog as well. She's comprehensive in her communication and makes herself available for any questions or concerns. The best part? She does it all because she genuinely cares about these animals. Tamara brought me to tears the first time I met her; I knew I had found someone who loves dogs to her core and would do anything to keep Bizzy safe while also allowing her to have FUN! We love our Shape Up Your Pup family so much!

They take the dogs upstate to hike offleash in the fresh air and trails in the woods and at the beach. Being cooped up in NY and never having her paws hit fresh dirt nor grass nor streams nor sand nor the ocean is exactly why Shape Up Your Pup has made our 'fur baby' happier than she's ever been (and in better shape than ever.) Thankful that we were referred to them last year when we moved from California (so I know what a great hike looks like :) )

We had an amazing experience with Natasha, and cannot recommend her enough!! If you're looking for…read morea dog trainer that is super comfortable with animals, very knowledgeable, takes on a positive reinforcement training style, and gives you concrete steps to implement to help change your dog's behavior issues, Natasha is the one! We found Urban K-9 through a neighbor, who couldn't recommend Natasha enough. Our neighbor has a dog who was scared around kids, and Natasha helped the dog go from reactive to calm in difficult situations with kids. We had a similar issue with our dog, so we reached out. Natasha helped us with a few different things, including our dog's reactivity around kids/strangers, our dog's tendency to bark at the door and jump on strangers to greet them. Natasha helped us understand our dogs psychology, and was able to help us see where our dogs behavior was coming from. For instance, we didn't realize that barking at kids was a sign of the dog being scared, rather than being angry/aggressive. The main take-away was that the more our dog feels like she can rely on her owners to take her through a difficult situation safely (aka not let a random stranger pet her, but be her leader/protector), the less our dog would feel like she needed to take care of the situation herself (aka bark/lunge/etc.). Natasha shared a lot of concrete steps and methods to implement in order to create a more clear dynamic between us and our dog. We learned a number of things, including how to get out of a difficult situation, how to desensitize our dog to her fears, how to train patience, how to show stronger leadership with leash walking, and so on. Our dog has become less reactive around kids since seeing her. I highly recommend you check out their website and book a session with Natasha if you're looking for a really great dog trainer!!

I sent my dog here for a "board and train" for a month because he was VERY LEASH REACTIVE and had SEVERE SEPARATION ANXIETY. He came to my home to evaluate my 9 pound Maltese and said "yea I'm going to make your dog more confident ". Which I believed that he would. The complete opposite !! He told me he's going to "crate train " my dog to help with the separation anxiety. " His dog ended up sleeping in MY dogs crate as he said. And in the bed with him and his girlfriend. ( We are working on separation anxiety right?) sent me text saying he's doing great in the crate. When he came home left him in the crate for an hour and he threw up, urinated, and stool. Complete mess. Didn't understand my doing being with this JERK for a month and came back 10 times worst. Was still very leash reactive to other dogs. Completely nothing was done. Never received any updates on how my dog was doing on a day by day basis, it would be a text days later, when I made it clear my dog NEVER been away for me for such a long time. I know my dog had a bit of issues and was out of his league to train him. He could of simply said that. But took my money and did absolutely nothing. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE !! Here's some proof how unprofessional he is and hope this can help some people not to make the same mistake I did. By the way my dog is doing a great job now Sit, Whoa, Place, Heel. Here, Down, kennel, Out,Hold. Not leash reactive and separation is WAYYYY better. Thanks to (PETER CAINE)
