I'm happy to say, I was at this location about a year ago and they have made significant improvements. The last time the store was , dark, unkept and no personal to help the customer. Now it's more welcoming and well maintained and stocked. Good job . I'll be sure to come back. read more

I came to this store to buy my cats a new litter box and litter. First off, the location has NO SHOPPING CARTS. How are people supposed to shop when they are carrying around 40-50lbs of stuff?? There was absolutely no one on the floor to help with any questions. They had one guy working 2 registers to keep the line moving. The poor animals even look miserable to be at this location. Basically you are just staffing a bunch of kids that need an extra buck for food and/or weed. Now that online shopping is so easy, people like me go to store of the in person experience. Excellent customer service by the two young gentlemen in the front of the store. They were very patient, pleasant. Helpful and really knew their stuff. I was able to find everything I needed for my new class pet. I highly recommend this Petco. Lots of free parking outside. read more

Don't take your dog here absolutely horrible. I have a puppy and it was his first trim. I waited outside they have a bench that's right in front the window where the grooming takes place ( so I can basically see my dog threw the window, but I made sure that my dog wasn't able to see me, didn't want to excite him ) they were very rough with my 4 month old, the groomer was constantly yelling at my dog in a mean aggressive manner. My dog came back acting all skittish afraid of me and everything. wouldn't come out his crate, meanwhile my dog is a pup happy go lucky.. unprofessiona wouldn't let the guy cut my grass. I scheduled my dog to be seen for grooming. there times do not any sense. scheduled my dog for a 3:45 and the girl told me my dog wouldn't be seen because the grooming would take 3 hours. why is that time available then? went back to reschedule for the following day they had a bunch of slots available & when I called they didn't have any of those times. super disorganize. also, super horrible customer service. the boy and the girl that work there are not helpful. not satisfied at all. ended up booking my dogs bath elsewhere. read more

I went to Petco on Gunhill Rd in the Bronx. I walked in and the three people that I believe work there. Not one said welcome to petco or can I help you. They was more concerned with stocking the shelf's. I think anyone can walk in this petco and walk out with merchandise and the wouldn't even know it. Horrible customer service. I love going here, I always shop with my boyfriend for our french bulldog since he was 2 months old and now he's 6 months. Just today I went an brought 2 Glofish sharks and 2 thin glofish and a catfish. I love it so much and tomorrow I will be back to get the 10 gallon aquarium kit. read more

I needed an emergency bath service for my Siberian husky and the Groomer, Wallace, took my Husky in without hesitation. He had my husky done within an hour! That's great timing for a husky due to them being a labor intensive breed. She smelled amazing upon pickup and felt so soft and plushy. I highly recommend this location for grooming. read more

Was racially profiled and followed around by store undercover loss prevention while shopping. I will never shop there or at any Petco again. I may sue. Acting like I was gonna steal. I don't even know where to being...let me state the positive first: Location/paking and that's about it. I had a 9:00 grooming appt which I scheduled a month in advance because they only have ONE groomer servicing the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx. I waited over a month for my Saturday appt. I arrived at 9:00am for my appt and it goes down hill from here. I asked for the groomer and was met with a look of surprise by a young girl & was informed that the groomer hasn't arrived and wasn't sure if she would. I asked to speak with a manager then some kid name Eddie comes out with a confused tired look as if he just rolled out of bed. He then started rambling something abt he's not sure, she's running late, maybe 15/20mins. I then said MAYBE 15 mins that's not good. I asked what am I to do stay here & see if she show up for work. He then shrug his shoulders as to say I DON'T CARE. I would have liked some type of reassurance then a look of I don't care. I then asked him his last name & he refused to give it. That was it for me....I left & will not be back. The store lack professionalism I have never found anyone on the floor to ask questions. The refrigerator most times not stock or out of order. Very limited items especially on Royal Canin . The cashier performs sales and check out functions therefore if you need help you have to wait until he's finished and that can be a wait if he's explaining a new puppy package, etc. As a suggestion it would be nice to hire sufficient staffing, professional managers and sale clerks. And if the groomer has an emergency or running late apologize to the customer and see how you can make it better. If the customer ask for a last name staff should be proud to give it after all its a place of business not your personal home. read more

Such a hit or miss with grooming, every time I feel comfortable with one they are gone before the next grooming. One groomer made my next appointment for me and when I showed up 6 weeks later he was gone and there was no appointment in system anymore. This last time I went for the appointment with my dog and after 10 minutes of playing with the computer she asked "is she ok for grooming?" I asked what that meant and she repeated the same thing. Seriously? If she wasn't ok, would I bring her? I then told her there was some matting (which in the past they have charged extra if there was) and she started rambling about company policy and not being able to groom the dog, then gives me a phone # for a vet who could do it but doesn't know where they are or what the name is. Really sad, I had my daughter with me and the dog and we were amazed by the fact that she didn't even offer to try, I spent the morning in search of a groomer who would take my dog the same day and I did find one, thank you, and they had no problem that she was a little matted. My second visit to the store and the same result dead fish in the tanks floating while the others eat at them. This was for both the freshwater fish and the tropical this is disgusting and cruel to the other fish in the tank my visits were Saturday March 10, 2018 and again on Sunday May 25th left both days disappointed without purchasing any fish due to the condition of the tank. I had an appointment last week and the employees there are the worst. I walked out and made an appointment for the Riverdale store where I usually go. Firstly, the prices you get on the website goes up tremendously once you are in the store. I asked for an explanation of the price being doubled from the website and the responses made no sense. An employee told me "Well everyone pays it" "The website is not for this store as every store is different" Another employee added, "why didn't you go to the Riverdale store you usually go to" The grooming manager, Johanna who came out to speak to me called another employee over to stand by her as she answered my questions. Then proceeded to let me know she had to run cause she had a dog in the sink in the back. You can't make this stuff up people. This is price gouging at its best. So I normally don't leave reviews but in this case I just have to. I have to dogs and I live in petco. I have been to so many petcos but nothing like this one. I love going to this location. The shelves are always stocked and I always find what I'm looking for, what makes this location so special is a sales associate named Tony Parker what a wonderful employee for petco to have. He's very helpful and very knowledgable and he greets every customer with a beautiful smile. Tony is always willing to help you even if he's busy which he always is his personality is a breath of fresh air for petco.
