Given his thick, curly, and matted coat, his grooming was significantly overdue and necessitated the expertise of a skilled professional. Upon scheduling the appointment, I was uncertain about the groomer who would attend to Henry. Although I had encountered some of the most unfavorable reviews for other establishments, Petco in Riverdale received comparatively more positive feedback. As Henry's grooming was urgent, I reserved the earliest available slot. Our groomer was Simon, who exemplified professionalism! Simon demonstrated politeness, confidence, and professionalism right from the start. He quickly reassured me of his abilities and eased any worries about entrusting Henry to what was in store for him- an overdue grooming session. Simon created a warm and safe atmosphere, mindful of Henry's tendency toward anxiety in unfamiliar settings. Simon demonstrated exceptional attentiveness by reviewing Henry's specific requirements in advance and ensuring VIP care. Furthermore, Simon proactively contacted me prior to Henry's appointment to inquire if an earlier time could be arranged, and he explicitly conveyed that no dog should be hurried--an aspect I greatly appreciated. When I arrived, Simon checked us in and reviewed Henry's vaccination records to ensure everything was up to date. I appreciated his dedication to safety, as such carefulness regarding the safety and health of pets and staff is uncommon today. I really valued Simon's thoroughness! Simon dedicated his efforts to grooming Henry from 1 PM to 4:45 PM, carefully attending to all necessary grooming tasks for Henry, i.e., bathing, de-matting, shaving, teeth cleaning, and nail clipping. The list goes on, as Henry required the full range of grooming services! Despite Henry's challenging coat, Simon was transparent about the grooming process, kept me informed, and requested additional time to ensure a superior result. He handled Henry's anxiety with great care and showed a deep understanding of how to work with this breed's natural tendencies toward nervousness and needing reassurance. Simon empathized with Henry's emotional needs and endeavored to soothe him during grooming. He often updated me via text message--an available communication feature at Petco--and was receptive to my suggestions for handling Henry's sensitivity. These updates from Simon were invaluable and reassured me that my dog was in good hands. When I arrived early for Henry's pick-up, Simon graciously informed me that Henry needed additional grooming and invited me to watch, which I found especially thoughtful. Subsequently, he provided a comprehensive care plan tailored to Henry's specific breed and coat. Simon's extensive knowledge, kindness, and sincere concern exemplify his professionalism as a groomer, especially suitable for dogs with nervous or high-maintenance dispositions. I wholeheartedly recommend Simon to anyone seeking a compassionate and professional grooming experience at the Riverdale Petco location. I, of course, have scheduled a follow-up appointment for Henry with Simon. I am exceedingly pleased that Henry and I were fortunate to be placed under Simon's care--an instance of fortuitous discovery! I no longer need to continue searching, as I have found Henry's preferred, top-tier groomer. I highly encourage Riverdale/Bronx area residents to entrust their pets to Simon for grooming services. Both you and your pet will undoubtedly appreciate Simon's outstanding work. Thank you once again, Simon!

It's extremely obnoxious to try and rectify this after I sent proof (pics) that Mary texted on her cell phone for half of the visit when she was supposed to provide "play time". I never said anything about you, that your visit was bad. But it was AFTER I complained and AFTER Chad asked me to submit pictures to prove what I say was true. He never apologized to me! He praised Mary during the whole email! Here, since we are attaching emails, let me know when you see the word "sorry" in Chad's email. And all that BS that he was the one texting her?! Please.. how abt a quick phone call if he wanted to tell her something important? If she was typing abt the visit, that's to be done AFTER the visit. Not DURING. When I'm paying for "play time"!!! P.S Chad, 1st, I never said Mary sat in a chair the Entire Visit. Please, I implore you to actually read my first review, don't put words in my mouth. 2nd, if I'm sending you 2 pics taken 6min apart where the pet sitter is sitting on a chair texting, that's pretty self explanatory. But, at least once every day or two, he'd become extremely aggressive with us due to resource guarding (usually a slipper or sock) or us trying to get his collar on or off. This behavior was not limited to warnings as we got bitten many times in the hands and arms. We tried training at our local pet store but it just wasn't addressing the issues. We finally hit a point where we felt lost. We started to fear for the future, wondering how we'd ever feel safe having children around an unpredictable dog. On the other hand, he was already a member of the family so giving him up just felt impossible for us. We reached out to a nearby trainer who ended up referring Bob to us, especially because he excelled in dog aggression issues. Bob was extremely thorough even before the sessions started. He collected as much information about our particular situation as he could so he could fully understand and create a training plan that would fit our needs. The major focus was not just Bob training our dog, it was Bob teaching US how to be better trainers and owners. The results were simply incredible. We began noticing major differences in the way our puppy would act around us just after a session or two because we were stepping into the leadership role, a role that before was held by our dog. Once all the sessions were through, we really took time to remember the dog he was before and what he has become. And the result of that is simply mindblowing, he really is a different dog. Plus, it's not just us who are happier. Our puppy is so much calmer and trusting than he has ever been while retaining his fun loving and playful side. Thanks Bob! We truly cannot thank you enough!

Fortunately, my wife who works in the Health care field met some women and their therapy dogs who were the most pleasant, well behaved and caring dogs she's ever met. She of course asked where the dogs received their training and they told us about Three Dogs Training. So we immediately enrolled and were not disappointed at all as the class was enjoyable and stimulating both for us and our puppy. Our instructor, Lisa Edwards showed us how easy and fun it is to train your dog and it has allowed us to teach our dog proper manners. If you have a dog that needs training, a puppy that needs some basic socialization or want some help in choosing a dog that mets your lifestyle then check them out.

I have had very anxious dogs and a resource guarder, and Lisa has shown me how to manage these issues without using aversive training, only positive reinforcement ... and a sense of humor. I hate to think where my dogs would be if it weren't for her. She speaks dog with love and understanding and deals with their humans patiently (I imagine that it the hardest part of her job.) and without making us feel foolish. Will we ever stop attending Three Dogs Training classes? Only if Lisa retires!

We took him in, loved him, and still found ourselves in crisis -- biting, aggression, resource guarding. We were scared of our dog and desperate for help. Oliver was our fifth dog and as a family we were seasoned users of positive reinforcement as the primary training method. We turned to Angelo at Art of K9 and made the decision to board Oliver for 8 weeks. He took on Oliver after a thorough consultation. Angelo worked through Oliver's aggression and resource guarding using the e-collar and other training tools. These methods gave us the ability to communicate with and control our dog in a way positive reinforcement couldn't. The transformation is hard to put into words. Oliver is now relaxed, cuddly, and genuinely at peace. He still has his moments -- but now we have the tools to handle them. This has changed everything. If you have a dog with serious aggression or resource guarding and you're at your breaking point, I highly recommend Angelo. He didn't just train Oliver -- he saved his life and we are so thankful.

At first, we second guessed our choice to leave Monsi for 6-weeks because we missed her. Every time we checked in with Angelo, he updated us, but we missed our fur baby so much. Now, afterwards, I can't stop recommending this program to everyone I know. It's a worthwhile investment IF you plan to KEEP UP with it. All of Angelo's work can easily be undone with dog owners that do not upkeep the foundation he creates. Currently our dog listens to each command after one time saying it, she is walking off leash behind us, does not lurk around the table while we eat or cook, stays in place for 2-hours and counting, and more. Overall, she has many service dog qualities. I need to give credit where it is due because our dog was unsure of herself, very anxious, annoying at times because she didn't know what to do during quiet hours at home and needed way too much physical exercise (4+ hours daily). He taught us, and our dog Monsi, that exercise and socialization looks different than we thought. Monsi is the dog we dreamed of and didn't know how to achieve. He tapped into her potential. She does not impede our life in anyway. She adds on to the quality and is stress free now that we know how to maintain and handle her. Not only that, but my parents sent their dog at the same time as our dog. So now we have two dogs that listen to the same command. We can bring our dogs on vacation and have complete calm and fun with them present. This was the greatest gift to a life of joy with a well trained fur family member! Thank you Angelo and Art of K9. I know picking a program at such a cost is nerve recking since there is not enough information or proof online but promise me, this is the place. We put a lot of trust into prior reviews and tiktok/Instagram videos.... We got lucky finding this place. It's a hidden gem of Westchester. If anyone needs more details to convince you this program is worth it, contact me. I'll convince you- haha!

While I don't think my dog was mistreated, Carol Ann failed to communicate that anything was wrong which is a huge problem. When my husband asked her if she noticed anything while there she proceeded to say "well he did have a slight cough at one point, but I called and told you". This was a complete lie, she never called him once while we were away. Since then we've had to take him to the vet twice, my dog has not been the same at all, lacks energy, is throwing up and not once has she even been sympathetic or apologetic. Instead she was defensive, rude, talked over him when he was trying to explain everything that was going on, and sounded like she was whining more than anything. We later realized that while she asked if my dog was vaccinated, she never asked for the proof and so I think she doesn't check for proper documentation- allowing anyone to leave their dog at her daycare. Lesson learned, never again.
