I'm puzzled by the amount of negative reviews there are on this page. My experience at the store…read morewas excellent and I actually purchased a kitten! Let me just start off by saying, it's painfully obvious that majority of the negative reviews here are written by animal rights activists. I get the whole "adopt don't shop" thing you guys have going on but maybe if the animal rescue groups in Westchester hasn't made it extremely difficult to adopt, I wouldn't have went the purchasing route. (Send me a message and I would love to share my experience with a couple animal rescues in Westchester). Back to Westchester P&K --- I went on a Friday evening and the store was decently packed. I was able to walk around and be assisted quickly though. Megan is probably one of the friendliest pet store employees I've ever met. She was extremely polite, patient and friendly. I was able to meet a couple different kittens and was allowed as much time as I needed to play and interact with them. Not once was I rushed to wrap up my playtimes with the kittens and I was not pressured into the purchase. Any ways, I decided on a kitten I wanted and was given a price. BECAUSE I'VE DONE MY HOMEWORK, I already had a budget set in mind. The price that was quoted to me was only a couple hundred dollars over my budget. It worked out perfectly and Megan worked as fast as she can to complete my purchase. Overall, it was a very very good experience and my new kitten's been energetic, eating well and using her litter box with no issues. Some of the negative reviews here: - "The animals are kept in tiny cages" --- I've been to many animal shelters and pet stores and let me just tell you, the cages are all the same size. - "The animals were overpriced and the store took advantage of covid-19 to jack up the prices" --- Just say you're poor and move along. It's a business. They are not a charity. Maybe check yourself in the mirror and settle for a mud instead of a pure bred. You do not NEED a pure-bred animal. - "These animals definitely come from mills" --- I don't think there's a pet store on earth that doesn't get their puppies/kittens from mills. Again, if you're that concerned about it, go adopt one from the pound. TL;DR: My experience at the store was great. I would highly suggest you have a minimum $2500 budget before visiting. If you're uncomfortable with animals possibly coming from puppy/kitten mills... don't go. Go to the pound and call it a day. Nice staff members here.

If I could give this place a zero, I would. They're are such a SCAM and I'm not sure how they're…read morestill legally operating. I purchased my dog for $6,000 when he was a few weeks old. He is now 3 years old. His paperwork stated he wasn't operated on, which was my goal to buy a pure breed poodle and possibly mate him with a female. And then..... when I took him for his first visit at the Veterinary office, I was told he actually got neutered and his paperwork stated otherwise. So they falsified information just to get the money! So careless and I wish I would've took legal action against them. Paid SO MUCH money to be scammed!

I have been coming to the petco for a while for my anmials…read more I come for the vetco clinic vaccines and they are pretty good and economical if you looking for a budget friendly clinic, but also to get the things your animal needs. I buy supplies here for my pet and i love how you can save and the coupons you get once you use your number. My pup went today to their vetco hospital for the first time and honestly my pup like many owners see their pets as family and because of different things i was nervous. From the front desk, nurses, and Dr. Boules, just everyone was amazing and extremly understanding and willing to ease my mind. There are people with bad reviews. But i honestly recommend this petco for all its departments. My pup is using sabrina as his trainer and she is extremely knowledgable and understanding and just very helpful. He is not done with his training yet but im sure once he is he will be great cause of sabrina. You may sometimes encounter a bad experience one day because no store is perfect but i feel like this is one of the best stores. Remeber people are allowed to have bad days, we have them also. Best experience with the vetco clinic, vetco hospital, and petco trainer. I havent tried the groomer.

I am writing this review so other pet owners can make an informed decision and avoid what happened…read moreto my dog. I took my dog, Abbie, to Petco for grooming on Thursday. When she came home, she had a raw, open skin injury near her hip and tail that was absolutely not present before the appointment. The area was bright red, inflamed, and painful looking--consistent with a grooming-related injury such as clipper burn or a grooming-triggered hot spot. This is not a minor irritation. It is a visible, open wound that now requires monitoring and veterinary care. Seeing your dog injured after trusting a grooming service is upsetting and unacceptable. What is even more concerning is learning that Petco has an ongoing history of complaints and legal action related to grooming injuries, including a widely reported class action lawsuit. Had I known this beforehand, I would never have brought my dog there. I am posting this so other pet owners do not make the same mistake. Please do your research. Ask hard questions. And if you value your pet's safety, consider taking your business elsewhere. Pets cannot advocate for themselves. We have to do it for them. Oddly, no one could make time to see my dog, there was no empathy or compassion from anyone.

Jess at Best Friends Pet Grooming Salon is nothing short of MAGIC. I don't use that word lightly --…read morewhat she did for my Frenchie, Louie, honestly blew me away. Nail trims have always been a huge issue for us, especially at the vet. They would leave his nails too long, and over time the quick kept growing out, turning his nails into literal bear claws. It got to the point where I didn't think we'd ever get them back to a normal, healthy length. I originally found Jess for my labradoodle Mabel and just happen to ask her about my Louie's nails . Not only did she trim his nails as short as safely possible, she did it with incredible gentleness and patience. Louie was calm, comfortable, and completely at ease -- which NEVER happens. But what truly sets Jess apart is her knowledge and care. She's actively working on helping the vein recede over time so his nails can return to a normal length instead of those "eagle talons." Who even does that?! That level of attention, skill, and dedication is so rare. Jess doesn't just groom -- she genuinely cares about your dog's long-term health and comfort. I'm beyond grateful we found her. If you have a dog with difficult nails or any grooming challenges, Jess is the one. Truly one of a kind.
