Look no further for a cat sitter. We travel frequently and I have had peace of mind these past five years knowing that Jane and Alan (the owners) are overseeing the care of my fur-baby. They are completely trustworthy and extremely reliable. I was impressed from the very first phone call where Jane and Alan did such a thorough intake of information and covered every detail that I felt very comfortable about leaving my cat in their care. There is always an introductory meeting with the cat sitter who will be assigned to you and if this person should change, Jane and Alan always make sure I meet this person to make sure that both me and my kitty are comfortable and happy with the person who will be providing care. I've had the same person taking care of my cat for almost three years and I think she is great, as well as her back-ups. My cat has special medical needs and receives medication three times a day because of mild seizures. Pampered Pets has skilled cat-sitters who are very good at administering medication and the sitters are very intuitive to know if something is off and not right with my cat. They are very accommodating to my cats needs and carefully follow any instructions I leave and often, these instructions need to be modified because of my cat's medical condition so I appreciate their flexibility and attention to detail. While I absolutely hate having to leave my kitty even for an overnight, Pampered Pets is the next best thing to me being there with my kitty. Additionally, Jane and Alan are a wonderful resource for information and I feel like they are wonderful "feline health advocates" because of their extensive knowledge and experience regarding feline health and behavior. I never expected to find all this in a pet sitting service because they are so much more and go beyond the basic care. Completely reliable and trustworthy whilst also offering invaluable services including administering medication and cat nail clipping. We travel frequently and quite simply it would not be possible if we hadn't found Pampered Pets to look after our cats while we're away. We moved to NYC four years ago and since then Eva from Pampered Pets has looked after our cats every time we travel. One of our cats requires medication - up to four pills at a time - and I know that without fail Eva will make sure he gets the treatment he needs no matter how difficult he decides to be about it. We have moved apartments three times and even though we no longer live in the area she covers she decided to carry on looking after the boys because of the bond she has formed with them. We happened to be away during hurricane Sandy and Alan (who runs the company along with Jane) and Eva made sure that our cats were safe and had plenty of food and water to see them through any eventuality. When we made it back to NY after the storm we found that they still had enough food and water to keep them going for several more days if needs be. In the midst of all the chaos Alan and Eva did not deviate from their commitment to our cats. I can't stress enough what an outstanding and caring service Pampered Pets provide and what a relief it is to call on them to look after our boys even at very short notice and under difficult circumstances. I just returned from a 9 day vacation during which Pampered Pets cared for my two Abyssinians twice a day. As always Max & Viva ran to the door to greet me, but rather than leading me into the kitchen to be fed, they ran into the living room to their toy basket and brush. That is the best indication of the time and attention PP provides. As other reviewers have noted, PP leaves a detailed note describing M&V's activities including likes/dislikes/quirks that one would only know after spending significant time with them. PP has administered medication, taken them to the vet (after noticing that one of them had a tick) and called me whenever necessary. Alan and Jane have advised me on vets, food, travel cases and general cat behavior issues. I trust them implicitly and never worry or have any guilt about leaving M&V even for several weeks at a time. I have used PP for over a decade, averaging 4 weeks over any year, and recommended PP with great success to some highly intelligent, highly accomplished and highly respected people who, otherwise sane, would not take a vacation (pre-PP) because they could not bear to leave their cats alone. Alan and Jane are so knowledgeable about cats and their well-being that I have learned so much about how to improve the lives of my babies. And their team of Dawn, Raquel and Megan have saved me by coming to care for my cats when I have gotten stuck on trips. And it goes beyond the pets, when you realize that there is a responsible adult checking on your home every day you are away, bringing in mail and watering plants if you need that done as well. Pampered Pets is the end all be all for me! My husband and I travel frequently for business and about 5 years ago we found pampered pets! I do not know what I would do without them and my boys absolutely love staying home and having their "sitter" watch them. Pampered Pets lives up to its name! I travel frequently and feel absolutely secure that my cat is indeed pampered in my absence. And it goes way above and beyond the usual feeding/brushing/litter scooping. I have received advice and recommendations as to the best vets; both Lori and Raquel have left toys and copious notes telling me about the games they play with my cat and the stories they read to her. Once my refrigerator died when I was away and Lori noticed and cleaned everything up so that I didn't have to come home to a stinking mess of spoiled food.
