Matthew was an absolute Godsend! Not only was he accommodating to my erratic schedule, he had a warm disposition and was a consummate professional who clearly has a true affinity for animals. My dog "Valentino" was in bad shape aesthetically... to say he was in need of a groom is a grave understatement! Due to an exercise related injury, I couldn't physically manage to take him to the groomer's for a while and it showed! Having a pure bred Bischon Frise with a white coat requires grooming upkeep-- I was desperate for a convenient, cost efficient option and Matthew came to the rescue. I was initially concerned about the mess factor... it wasn't too bad though I would recommend that either the pet owner or Matthew provide a tarp or overlay for easy clean up. Additionally, my dog is accustomed to being groomed on a table (because he is a runner and a bit squirmy) but Matthew managed to style him while seated on the floor untethered. The overall process took several hours... a bit longer than average but again, my dog was in very poor condition as far as his coat was concerned! Dirty and matted hot mess express! My pup is an old man so he has a bit of staining around the mouth and feet, but Matthew did a great job of cleaning and cutting down the unsightly stained areas. I highly recommend Matthew's services and will be using him in the future for my grooming needs. He is detail orientated, thorough, gentle and affordable! This review is so long over due!! I adopted my pup from the Harlem ACC back in November 2018 and took her home extremely matted and dirty (she really looked like a wet mop). I found Matt through yelp and decided to reach out to him (specifically because he does in home appointments & wanted to make my pup feel as comfortable as possible), he responded super fast & quoted me a very reasonable price, so we set up an appointment. Unfortunately we had to reschedule the original appointment due to bad weather, but Matt showed up on time and with everything he needed once rescheduled. He was super kind and sweet to Cleo - who was still adjusting to her new environment and was very shy & scared. Matt knew what he was doing and got Cleo cleaned up, bathed & free of all her dirty matted fur. It took him a little longer than expected due to the severity of her matted fur, but Matt took his time and was extra gentle with her, especially when he got to her paws which were the most difficult & matted part of her.
