Cierra was a calming and friendly voice when we called seeking a quote to address an unsettling mice issue in our house. By the end of the phone call, I didn't need any more quotes as I felt the service and the prices she spoke of were what I was looking for. Plus, we like to support small businesses in our area. There was no pressure to commit to a contract, just a seemingly genuine desire to help us with our problem. The fee for the consultation was set and charged for my appointment. Cierra explained that if we should choose to have them do the work, that fee would roll into the cost of the services. Seems a standard business practice and a fair rate! :) Eric came the next morning to do a consultation on the house. He took his time carefully looking at the interior concerns of the house. He spent a good deal of time outside, as well, taking pictures and noticing several possible entry points for rodents and pests. He was very patient with all of my questions and concerns, particularly as a tenant and not the homeowner. They provided a quote for various services that gave us some good options. I was able to forward that information to our landlord for his review. As soon as I accepted the pest control contract, Cierra called to set up an appointment for service. Our technician was Josh, who did an OUTSTANDING job providing service to address our pest problems - rodents, hornets nest, household bugs and an unexpected yellow jacket nest. He was very patient with my 379 questions and explained everything that he was doing. He arrived on time and did a great job taking care of every aspect of our pest and rodent concerns. He was in the van ready to leave when my husband mentioned one other area of concern - yellow jackets. Josh was great about coming back to the house to assist with that issue as well. I have been so impressed by this company; you should absolutely hire these folks. They have handled pest management for me and much more, and their customer service has been exemplary. I have had a fantastic experience with all the people at Pest Proof, but especially with Eric. I initially brought him in to address my need to remove pests from the attic (flying insects and crawling critters) and to replace my insulation. With his knowledge of wildlife management, he quickly showed me the areas that should be addressed to keep critters out of my attic and out of my house -- both in the attic and at ground level. Pest Proof handled all that work, and I am pleased with the results. But they did more. During our conversations, it came up that my home exterior really could use a "facelift" -- the roof, gutters, wood trim, and soffits were all aging and a little shabby. Over the course of my conversations with Eric, I learned that he and his colleagues did this kind of work as well, and I asked him to give me a proposal. Needless to say, his prices were great, beating out those of others from whom I received bids. Still, I would not have chosen Pest Proof if I didn't have a strong confidence in their ability to pull off the job. The proof is in the workmanship, and the Pest Proof crew came through. They did a lot of work for me -- replacing my roof, wrapping my trim in aluminum, and replacing my gutters and soffits. The work was all done skillfully and professionally, and Eric worked to make sure I was satisfied throughout. I since sold my house and moved out of the DMV. First of all, I give Kudos to Cierra. She maintained her professionalism and awesome customer service during the whole job. She answered my questions, assisted with my payments, and was super courteous. I had a huge job that involved repairs and clean out of my attic, sun room and many other areas. Before the job started, Eric was great, listened to my concerns, understood my situation and arranged for the job. He was very knowledgeable. This company got the job done, however, after the job ended there were unfinished areas that needed fixing up. Every time I called to schedule and arrange for a project manager to review the finished job, the manager was unable. I was always referred to Eric. I had to reschedule a couple of times, but after that they blew me off and never made attempts to get the unfinished areas done or recommend to finish it. This is a true statement. I luckily sold my house with those unfinished areas. If you use this company, make sure you understand the whole job, the materials being used, and have your questions up front. It was very expensive and I could have had a contractor do the jobs minus the pest control parts for less. They will refer you to Eric. They are short staffed and need their project managers to step up or get more employees. This company has a lot of improving to do. read more

Pest Proof is efficient, knowledgeable, and punctual, though we found it a bit pricey, hence the 4. But you pay for what you get, so maybe it should be a 5, quality wise it surely is. They trapped a squirrel couple we named Charley and Charlene that we once chased from an attic sill of an attic vent - they did not go into the attic itself as they abhorred the anti-rodent insulation - and in revenge took up shelter in a gutter hole of the kitchen overhang. We offered Charley and Charlene alternative housing in a squirrel home fixed on a tree in the yard, but they refused and thus were evicted. Unfortunately they had to pay their stubbornness with death. Pest Proof cleaned out the nests (what a comfortable mess!) where two babies were found lifeless, another tragedy, repaired the wood underneath the roof and replaced the gutter that had been damaged by the squatters. The gutter was provided with an arbor leaf protection system that squirrels cannot bite off (as they did with the previous gutter helmet leaf cover!). So far, no other squirrels have visited our backyard as they still remember Charley's and Charlene's territory. Good job, Pest Proof, in particular owner Eric and Ray! read more

A blackbird built a nest in our master bathroom vent. We thought she'd move out after the babies left the nest, but then she built another nest! Downy feathers started to fall through our vent fan onto the floor below and it was beginning to smell. We live in a very tall two story home and were desperate to have the vent covered. We had a few delays in getting someone out here from a pest removal service (Pest Proof was the quickest to return our calls). I cannot remember the young man's name (Nick maybe), but he worked through the rain, in the late afternoon on a weekend to remove the nest, sanitize the area and cover it. In addition, "Nick" noticed a second vent with an even larger nest inside (a vent we never even noticed), he thoroughly removed the massive amount of straw inside and covered that vent as well. This one was even a bigger job than the one for which we initially called Pest Proof Management. We had a bird chip away at the corner of our dental molding and make a nest inside the soffit space. I saw Eric leaving a neighbor's house and he graciously came over right then to check out the nest area and to discuss the other areas where I wanted to add cages to prevent more birds from getting in. He connected me with Ciara (apologies if I butchered the spelling) who took down my contact information right then. I received a quote and we were able to schedule for a week that worked for me. At the time of scheduling I was advised that the service may need to be rescheduled if rain is predicted for the day of service since the team members would need to be on the high ladder. Unfortunately it did rain but they called to advise of the new scheduled dates. From the very first call with the office manager to the final product, Pest Proof was WONDERFUL to work with! During our initial inspection, which was extremely thorough and informative, I learned we had raccoons and squirrels in our attic. I was given options as to how far I wanted to go with the work. In the end, I chose full remediation of the attic which included setting and checking traps, pulling out all old insulation, sanitizing, and blowing in new insulation, patching up all places where pests got in, and setting us up to prevent infestations in the future. I was very impressed by the service I received from Pest Proof. On Saturday, on a holiday weekend, I found out there was a bird caught in my dryer vent when I heard it flapping around in there. I hired Pest Proof Pest Management to remove four wasp/flying stinging insect nests. I ended up purchasing their program. Ryan came out to my home to checkout my situation and give me an estimate. I was really impressed with his knowledge. I had three different wasp-like insects. He told me which ones were beneficial, mud daubers, and which were the most aggressive, yellow jackets. He also taught me about the other insects I had. I can say "had", because they are all gone. My technician, Andy, was also great. He was very professional. I could tell that he took his job seriously. I was impressed with his knowledge as well. He knew where the insects entered my home. I had issues in my attic and HVAC room with mice and squirrels. I have tried contacting other companies and did address the mice situation, but didn't help with identifying entry points. I called Pest Proof. The people were extremely professional, meticulous, and very knowledgeable. I cannot recommend Pest Proof enough! I am a new home owner and we had a sugar ant colony manage to find its way into our house through some bricks. Before I knew it we had ants coming through the floor boards in our kitchen and basement. We had hired another pest company and they failed to stop the issue over a month and half, and I feared that I would be stuck living with ants for the whole summer. I called Pest Proof, and they came out within two days. Eric listened and then did a thorough treatment of my house. After this one treatment the ants that had plagued me for over a month, stopped!
