A squirrel built an elaborate nest under my solar panels this spring and Pest Proof was awesome in remediating the problem. They quickly came out to give me a quote. Austin was able to get the traps to capture the squirrel. They were expensive, and I wanted to close the area so the fox would not have babies under the deck. The material was not secure or tight enough, and the fox broke through and had babies under the deck. I could not have my small dogs at the house. The fox dug under a second part of our deck where they had the babies. A one-way door and a camera were in front of the 1st area, the 2nd area anothercamera was placed. The owner called and agreed to fix the area so the fox could not come back in. . He said the 2nd place was not part of the contract, but they would fix it in good faith. A worker came without me, knowing. Glad I was home. He was told to board up both places and be done. The 2nd hole we assumed there was still a fox in there. if I had not been home the fox could have died and I would've had a very bad smell in my house and that would've been very expensive to fix. I thought I was signing saying he has done the one job not both. Which I guess was my fault for not understanding what I was signing. The fox is finally gone and I wanted them to come and fix that part that was still open, Pest proof refused to come back saying I signed the form saying they were all done Bo was very nice and I appreciate all the help he gave me. From the office staff (shout out to Cierra who saved us) to the consultation by Ryan and then the work done by both the Repair team and the pest team. David came in first and he was professional, kind, and compassionate. I was overwhelmed and not a single person I dealt with made me feel as though I was overreacting. David explained everything he was going to do, what we needed to do, and heard all our concerns. Then we had Bo and Pearson who did the repair and I can't even tell you how much they put us at ease. I've had a very strange experience with this company. They came out last year for some issues we were having with birds - put cages on our vents, and recommended a few options of major work for securing our soffits/roof. (One of the options was over $7k!!!) We decided not to move forward with any of those options at the time. I followed up a few months later, and the quotes were more expensive. When I asked why, I got a few different answers before finally getting one that made somewhat sense. It was a very odd back and forth with the sales rep where I felt like he was giving me the run around. We decided again not to move forward since the prices were now much higher. Then a bird got through one of the cages they put up, and they had to come back out and change the type of cage. They did this when I wasn't home, didn't tell me when they were coming, and the type of cage they put up requires a certain level of airflow to allow the vent to vent properly. They didn't ask or check if the airflow would be sufficient before doing this work. Then - this year, we started having issues with rodents in the attic, had them come back out and they recommended a few solutions. We chose one and were ready to move forward with a substantial amount of work (around $2k of a project) - but we didn't want to sign up to their ongoing subscription service which costs something around $800 a year. When I communicated this to them, the sales rep decided he DIDNT WANT OUR BUSINESS and sent me an email saying we "don't align on how to remediate" and "it isn't a good fit". I have never met a company that turns down good business for no good reason. It is incredibly frustrating to have wasted time having them come out, us being ready to move forward, and the guy deciding he just doesn't like us and is going to walk away. Don't waste your time with these guys - you will be disappointed. (Also- fully expect this guy will reply on this review in a defensive and accusatory way, just as he has on other negative reviews. That level of unprofessionalism should have been enough of a red flag for me to never call them in the first place.) (Update: see the owners response below - case in point!) read more

Be very careful, especially if it's a bigger job. I got quoted $9000 for bat removal + insulation some time ago. I was a little anxious about the entire situation as I had never dealt with this before. NEVER get a pest company to do wildlife removal work. They will overcharge you like crazy. If you need wildlife removal, look into xceptional wildlife removal or veteran pest & wildlife services. But that's not what the main issue at pest proof is. After I had initially accepted the quote, I realized it was way too much and wanted to cancel (this is prior to ANY work being done). Well turns out there is a tiny little statement in the quote that says that the cancellation fee is the remaining 80% of the job or something like that. Yes, it was ridiculous. The fee to cancel was literally thousands of dollars. It was some BS reason because "parts had already been ordered". Eventually I got Eric to cancel it but I would never get anything done from a company with disgusting business practices like that. It's designed so you just go through with the high quote because the cancellation fee is extremely high. Eventually went with a much better company (xceptional) and got everything done for $1900. They were honest with me. Just wanted to put this out there as a warning for anyone who needed similar work that I had done with bat removal. Dealing with this company was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I felt compelled to let people know because I was misled by their high reviews initially. read more

Getting the cages around the other vents seemed a bit pricey given the product and service. You don't get the price until they show up for anything extra. This is my first time using a pest control company for my home, and I'm so glad I found Pest Proof Pest Management. My experience with them has been exceptional. Every person I've spoken to has been not only professional, but kind and courteous. Well, I had an unwanted visitor that had moved into my attic. The critter was active at night and cause a fair amount of worry in my household. I called the company and they arrived that afternoon. I was very impressed with the Professionalism and competency of the workers. Within 30 minutes, Eric had inspected the damage in three places on my roof and had gained entry to my attic, quickly ascertaining that I had a raccoon. A trap was set and the critter was apprehended that same evening. Another worker responded in the morning to take the critter away and repaired all the damage caused by the raccoon. All of their work was documented on an app that I could access that included notes and photographs. I would use this company again and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

We just had a well reviewed foundation specialist come to inspect our foundation. He spent a lot of time in the crawl space taking measurements. After coming out of crawl space he looks at us and says: "Who did the crawl space encapsulation? They did a beautifuuuul job. I'm hoping you say it's my company that did this." I called Pest Proof due to a termite and carpenter ant issue. They came out with an estimate for the treatment, which included one interior treatment and one exterior. Pest Proof completed the interior that day before they left. In the couple of weeks that passed before the scheduled exterior service, the Covid19 broke out in our area. Pest Proof honored the apointment and did a fantastic job. At one point I overheard them encounter a place where bees were building a nest in a door opening. I decided to use pest proof as a recommendation from a couple of people on a chat. They worked out well at the initial visit and I was happy and waiting anxiously for the next visit to get my mouse problem resolved. I received a call from dispatch stating she would schedule me for 01/14/2021 between 1-5pm, I asked her to please give me a call or text 30 minutes prior so I could meet them I am coming from work in Manassas. They arrived at my house today at 3:38pm I did not get a call or text and while busy at work I missed the call. I called back 10 minutes later and no response. I called back again 45 minutes later because I assumed they were driving and didn't answer. The owner answered and stated he had been at my home and rang the doorbell. I told him I missed his call and called him back a few minutes later, I also told him I had asked for a call or text prior (30min) so I could meet him. He stated all he could do was reschedule me and to call the office that they don't call clients prior to arriving. He stated I should have received a text message from his system (which I didn't), I told him I had left work early to meet him and if he could send someone else. His response was I needed to reschedule to meet another day, even though they had charged my card a day prior to coming to complete the service. I asked him if I would get refunded the 50% since they didn't complete the service? His response was he does not like to be threatened (No threat made) and that he would refund 100% of the service. Great!!!!! Now I have to find another service wait two more weeks and see what they say. The one star is for the POOR service and unwillingness to fix the problem that was no fault of mine but of his system or office. If you can find another Pest Control Company this one will just waste your time like they did mine. read more

I'd give this company more stars if I could. The owner (I presume) chatted back and fourth with me via Yelp messages and gave me a quote for our SFH. The quote was very fair and he sent someone out during a window of 12-4 within a few days. Andy showed up around 2:30 and was extremely friendly and put up with my dogs attitude problem. He answered my questions honestly and was very informative and didn't push anything on me we didn't need. He was also careful to move all of the dogs toys and beds and food bowls out of the way before he sprayed and made sure it was dry and safe for her to come back downstairs. I contacted two pest control companies through Yelp to inspect my condo and provide a report for my mortgage company. The other company quoted me a price of $45 for the inspection but when I called them to set up an appointment I confirmed the $45 price that was quoted to me on their Yelp message to me, at which point I was told that was a typo and the price as actually $95. I then contacted Eric Littlejohn of Pest Proof Pest Management and confirmed the price he gave me of $55. Eric arrived promptly at the time he had stated, was extremely courteous and professional, and produced the report requested in no time flat. He promptly sent me the required report via email and the entire transaction left me with a very good feeling about this company.
