Delicious pancakes, bland butter substitute, thin syrup
    Bill Z.

This is a popular spot for folks from both side of the border to dine (as evident by the number of French speaking customers), as well as guests staying at the Comfort Inn to which it's attached. In a not-full restaurant on a Sunday morning, we had a 10 minute wait for a table, which implied they were short staffed. However the waitress we got was charming and very professional and a pleasure by whom to be served. Our breakfasts were pretty basic, but the pancakes were quite good (they'd better be; if you recall, the original name of the chain was Perkins Pancake House). It's unfortunate that they were accompanied by a scoop of tasteless spread passing for butter, and a ridiculously thin syrup - I've had pours of Scotch with better viscosity than the syrup. But it was otherwise okay and served quickly and a reasonable option for a quick meal off the Northway.

Had breakfast here for the first time and it wasn't a pleasant experience. The food was cold, lacking flavor and the coffee was stale and sour. Not a place I would recommend dinning at.

I can only compare Perkins to Denny's because that is the only other type of restaurant that I've been to with a very similar feel. Perkins offers about the same menu but with their own variety of differences. Came here for breakfast around 10am during family weekend for SUNY Plattsburgh, but the wait was only 10 minutes or so. There were small complimentary muffins being offered to those who were waiting, and those were amazing. It gave us a small taste of the food we had in store. The breakfast exceeds that of Denny's. Not everything was amazing, but it definitely has more flavor and is made better. The best breakfast item has to be the Southern Fried Chicken Biscuit Breakfast. It is extremely large and heavy, but oh so tasty. The Mammoth muffins are also to die for. I ordered a Pumpkin Cream Cheese muffin, which was just a pumpkin muffin with cream cheese glaze on top, but it came out warm and was large enough to share with others. Their bakery items are the most exciting things in the restaurant (pies!!). There were some downsides to our breakfast, not everything was to par but overall a good experience. I would return to try the savory lunch/dinner foods to see what else is in store!

Decent for a chain, similar to Friendly's. But no real maple syrup = pancake FAIL. I asked and they had none.

After checking numerous reviews and website menus, It appeared to me that Twisted Carrot was one of…read morethe most interesting restaurants in the area, in terms of menu and atmosphere. My dinner experience there certainly lived up to expectations. The restaurant is small, seating maybe about 30 people. I wouldn't call it intimate, but I would call it friendly. The menu items are enjoyably named, with some interesting ingredient and flavor combinations. Service is fast and friendly; 3 servers can take care of all the tables quite nicely, with time for fun conversation as you go. The cocktail list is small, and the drinks are simply garnished, but everything we tried was quite flavorful and reasonably priced. As an appetizer, the Moo Moo Dippers, filled with shaved ribeye and corned beef and combined with the remoulade sauce for dipping. were addicting. My salmon filet came atop a bed of roasted sweet potato and corn hash and a sauce on top to give it more interesting presentation and flavor. The pork medallions were similarly appealing. We passed on dessert, because most of the offerings had some form of caffeine in them (e.g., boozy affogato), but I'm certain they would have been equally delicious. I was surprised the restaurant closed so early on days they're actually open, i.e., 8pm. So if you want convenient dining, get there early for dinner, because it does fill up.

I've lived in Plattsburgh for a year and 2/11/26 was my first visit. I thought we were early but…read morethe place was packed at 5:30! There was only the high table by the kitchen door left but the food more than made up for it. We started with the fried calamari and garlic breadsticks. Calamari was tender and crisp, cooked to perfection and served with a tang sauce. They served the tentacles which is my favorite part! Breadsticks were toasted strips of Italian bread swimming in garlic. 4 may seem like a small serving but it was just enough of a carb. I had the stuffed chicken breast which was delicious, filled with prosciutto and fresh spinach. Filling dinner with enough left for lunch. My aunt had a cheese burger and the truffle parm fries . I didn't try the burger but it looked amazing! Thick, juice and cooked to order. The fries were a 10/10 so amazing! Crispy and delicious served with the best horseradish sauce Ive ever had Smooth and creamy with the perfect amount of heat to make your eyes water! If nothing else try the fries!!! After such a meal we had no room for dessert and leftovers. Our waiter Keegan was attentive and followed us out to bring us our togo boxes we forgot. So if ur down by the base I strongly suggest checking out this bistro
