It's a big, nice place with a great atmosphere and a salad bar. The food and drinks were both really good, and there were plenty of drink options to choose from. However, the service was on the slower side. It was very crowded, and we were seated in a corner, which made it hard to get a server's attention. We only got one round of drinks, and even after asking, it took a while for refills. We actually got our food before our first round of drinks arrived. Still, the food quality and overall vibe made it an enjoyable experience.

Stopped at Butcher Block after finding out our plane out of the airport was delayed a couple hours. Ate at the bar area as the line was already out the door for tables. It was happy hour and the specials must have been good as the place was packed, loud, and there was a constant stream of wait staff going through. The soup and salad bar is excellent - I highly recommend it. Beers 2 for 1 during happy hour. Great service, hope to be back real soon.

My steak was the best one I've ever had! Great experience and I love the salad bar. My steak was lean and perfectly cooked. It was larger than expected although I don't recall any size being specified. Restaurant gets really busy so you may want to go early.

The food at the Butcher Block is very good. Not the best I've ever had, but not the worst either. Skip the dessert, make your own at home. The salad bar included cold plates which was a nice surprise. I got the clams for an appetizer and wasn't too fond of it. Kind of tasted like seawater. Dinner: No one had any complaints with their meals. Each came with generous portions. Even the petite options were more than enough! Someone in my party got Crab legs and they were cracked ahead of time. Dessert: I would skip the dessert if you come here. The carrot cake was made with buttercream icing and not the traditional cream cheese frosting. The cheesecake was disgusting!!! Weirdest texture and flavor ever. Overall a good meal, but wouldn't rush to go back tomorrow, maybe in a little while.

Best Happy Hour in town. 2-1 drafts, wine and well. Clams, mussels, wings and pizza. Gets busy, but well worth it. Nice crowd also.

Great service Great food. Great salad bar. Beware of the dessert. If you're dining alone, you won't finish it.

Cold bland food and rude staff. All very overpriced. The restaurant was very cramped and loud as well. Not a great experience.

Finally...CMB is back to being a solid, waterfront choice…read more After years of crappy service and food, Cafe Mooney Bay seems to have found its footing again. I'm old enough to remember the original CMB and it was great back then. I've been hoping it would get back to that level again and it has. Friendly service, solid food, perfect setting. We had a great evening. Our table had several different entrees ordered and I'll rate them... Lobster salad - excellent! Delicious, perfectly cooked lobster on a bed of fresh greens. Simple but perfect. Seafood Saute - lots of seafood over pasta. Very good. Stuffed Shells - Yum! Perfectly cooked, great presentation (yes, stuffed shells presented beautifully.) Scallop casserole - The only dud at the table. Watery and VERY overcooked scallops, too cheesy. The drinks were perfect, wine crisp and delicious. The staff was attentive and wonderful. We are looking forward to CMB being our new go-to waterfront restaurant in the Plattsburgh area.

Well worth the trip outside of Plattsburgh for some great food in an incredible atmosphere. The interior had a bit of a smell to it - not sure of the source. We sat out on the deck overlooking the water. Service was good and the food was great. As good, if not better than Irise's and Anthony's in town.

Sitting outside gave us a gorgeous view of the waterfront, and the round tables with deck chairs were comfortable and perfect for letting everyone in our party talk to each other. I shared the lobster roll and fish and chips, and both were prepared well and came with a generous amount of french fries. The lobster roll was marked as market price ($34 when we went) and was about 3oz of lobster meat. It wasn't the largest restaurant markup I've seen, but it also wasn't a great deal. The fish and chips was a fish filet covered in bread crumbs instead of the usual thick batter. It felt similar to fish sticks was a good balance of tender on the inside and seasoned on the outside. I would come again for the lovely views and to try their other menu items. A few members of our party got tacos which looked good.

Part of our reason for a return visit was the outstanding service provided to us by Molly. We felt double spoiled by having her be our server for dinner. The setting was delightful. Both times we got a great table by the window with fabulous views of the harbor and Lake Champlain. The vibe is relaxed, warm, and charming. No frills. The focus is on the food and the view. The food was really good. For lunch we shared a lobster roll. Now I know that there is a lot of controversy on what makes an "authentic" lobster roll. My take on having them in just about every state from Maine to Florida and and few tasty ones in my inland location. This one tasted good to me - lots of lobster, not too much mayo, fresh soft bun and some nice romaine for some crunch. They made me a lovely Cranberry Mule mocktail to sip on during the meal. For dinner my husband had the Crab Cake and I had the Shrimp Scampi. Both were quite good and the fish tasted fresh. We finished off with a decadent Key Lime Pie. Next time we are in the Burlington area, this will definitely be worth a return visit.

Located in the Courtyard (Marriott) Hotel, only a stone's throw from Lake Champlain and close to the center of Burlington, VT, the restaurant sits just off the lobby. I made a dinner reservation and we was seated by the window with a view of the park with the lake beyond. Off to a good start. My Dirty Martini was spot-on. The perfect balance of Tito's and brine. Only missing the 'bleu' cheese olives. I often order a second appetizer as my entree. My starter was carpaccio that was outstanding. The microgreens were a nice touch. The mussels (appetizer) that I chose for my main course were small in size but ample in portion and were the perfect choice for me. My husband chose the cheese platter for his starter. It was disappointing. Two slices of bleu cheese. Should have been three different ones for $15. And no VT cheddar? Not much imagination here. His Steak Frites was OK; the quality of the beef could have been better. We shared the spinach watermelon salad which was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, we liked this restaurant and will return.
