Caesar salad - no dressing, but pesto ‍
    Donald B.

This meal was impacted heavily by service and kitchen turn around. Food was adequate, nothing worth ordering again. I went with the French onion soup after seeing positive reviews, and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The soup taste heavily of sage, but was acceptable. The Caesar comes with pesto, so allergens be aware. For the meal we were seated at 6pm. Most of the dining area was empty. Our table was set by 6:10. Drinks were slow, and order not taken until 6:30. Food started coming at 7:20. No communication from servers and many missed opportunities to fill drinks, bring creamer, or show attention if the kitchen was struggling. I cannot recommend this location.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. I got the truffle fries which were a big portion, a bit oily, and lacked the crunch I desired. I also got the tequila chicken salad, which I enjoyed but would've been better with a nicer presentation, like on their website. The big stand out at this restaurant was the service. Had a lovely waitress who was extremely attentive and pleasant. She bumped this place up from a 3 star to a 4 star for me.

Pulled pork, sweet potatoes with queso and jalapeño on top.. HIGH RECOMMENDED!

Great service, and the food is absolutely phenomenal! Our waitress made sure our drinks were filled, the food was absolutely amazing! My fiancé got the pulled pork, sweet potatoes with queso and jalapeño, and I got the fried calamari on top which was absolutely amazing&highly recommended! We are definitely coming back!

My husband and I had lunch here and really enjoyed it! We were sat in a booth which was a wooden booth with no cushions. My husband has a bad back to begin with and sitting on the hard surface of the bench didn't help him. None of the chairs had cushions either so it didn't really matter where we sat. That is the only negative thing I have to say about this restaurant! Our server was awesome, she told me if something was spicy or if it was too salty because I have a lot of food sensitivities and that really helped me. I had the chicken and waffles which were delicious and my husband had the taco special. Both of us really enjoyed our meals and my husband had a flight of beer. The atmosphere is really inviting and the restaurant is much bigger than you would think. It is great for parties/events.

Extremely rude servers. Ordered my food and it came out almost an hour later, cold. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone I know!!

Food was good as was the service ( prior to the house cleaning. Is this true or rumor?) we will go back when the dust settles.

Is the outdoor eating area dog-friendly?

Well behaved & leashed dogs are certainly welcome. Wouldn't want your pooch left in the hot car.

A sister restaurant to Foam Brewers!…read more We spent a weekend in Burlington, VT visiting breweries, wine bars, a comedy show, eating, shopping and it was wonderful. Deep City was a recommendation for brunch from a local. It is the sister restaurant to Foam Brewers (right next door). When we walked in there was a small wait but not bad. We headed over to the brewery to grab coffee and to check it out. It is definitely a cool spot. They have a huge selection of beer, a small wine program (who knew) and small bites. Unfortunately they did not have TVs or else we would've come back to watch the football game but we did purchase some beer before heading back over for brunch at Deep City. The menu here is a little more Mexican-forward think Huevos Rancheros, but there was still plenty of items that looked appealing. We split the banana bread with maple walnut cream cheese (to die for) to share as an app which was fresh and delicious. I also ordered a fruit cup which was also good. We then shared their Huevos Verdes which is similar to Huevos Rancheros except it came with a tomatillo salsa. It was good but very sloppy to eat. Overall it was a great experience, and service was phenomenal. A great brunch place while visiting Burlington VT.

First of all, they have a parking lot, which is free to park in, which was super convenient. The menu is interesting and everything sounded so good, including the daily features (duck hash, yum)! It made it super difficult to decide what to order, but we eventually settled on the biscuits and herb gravy, the across the pond, a side of the cheesy kale, the polenta breakfast dish, and the trout and eggs. Our server was super patient and kind and the food was amazing. I don't usually like biscuits and gravy that much, but their vegetarian gravy was so tasty. It reminded me a bit of broccoli cheddar soup in the best way, and the biscuits were flaky. I'd had the English breakfast plate at Penny Cluse before, and this one was even better. I loved the mushrooms and the sausage. The cornmeal crusted trout on the trout and eggs plate was crispy and not fishy at all, and the best trout I've ever tried. I loved that everything we ordered was so saucy since I'm a big sauce girl. This place is high on my list to revisit when I'm back in Burlington!

We made waitlist reservations and they were pretty close so seating was an issue but they are really, really busy at peak times. For the place itself, I believe it's an old church? The beer is great and they have one of those dome hockey games that I'm addicted to themed to the 1980 Olympic Game of USSR vs USA. LOVE IT! . Best food and atmosphere in town!

They do have a second floor dining area for large parties. English pub style. Food is relatively good. We are here 3 out of the 5 days we were in Lake Placid, mostly out of convenience. Service is okay, depending on who you get. They are super busy all the time and if your server isn't on point they will forget things. Their Ubu beer is the best beer there. The cranberry cider is pretty good as well. Shepards pie had very little meat/filling with a larger mashed potato ratio. Apple pie sounds great on paper but had little filling, leaving it super dry because it's baked as an individual personal pie. The whipped crème fraiche was delicious. Wings were nicely fried, crispy on outside and tender inside. Sourdough grilled cheese could've been better by using any other cheese besides Kraft singles. Clam chowder is superb. Beet salad was okay. Turkey burnt ends did not impress me and it's suppose to be their most popular dish. Chicken tenders were delicious. Fried fish was amazing! Huge piece of fish, served with tartar sauce and a side of incredible fries. Detroit style pizza is lackluster. The dough could've been cooked longer as it was underdone.
