Another amazing meal at Riverside. Waitress was pleasant, attentive and immediately took our drink order while we looked over the menu. We ordered the Riverside Steak and the Riverside Combo seafood entree with red sauce. We've had experience with the steak before and it was excellent as in the past. The seafood combo was a roll of the dice and was fantastic. The sauce had a little heat but the seafood was perfectly cooked and the dish was ginormous. Restaurant was quiet on a Sunday night which was a bit surprising as normally the place is packed....maybe it filled up as the night went along. read more

Riverside Steak and Seafood is a really great restaurant, located in the downtown area of Malone, NY. We came in here after our original dinner plans for the night fell through and although there were no actual tables available due to reservations for the evening, they were more than happy to accommodate us at the bar. The warm bread they serve before the meal is delicious- especially the garlic olive oil blend that they use! I could have easily just dined on that alone and would have been satisfied. However, I decided to get their penne alla vodka dish. The portion was huge and the meal was quite tasty. My mom raved about her eggplant parmesan as well, saying that it is one of the best she's ever had! Overall, this was a great place. Great food and very accommodating service! read more

It was a busy Friday night, about 7:30, when we walked into the restaurant from route 11 as first time visitors to Malone and this restaurant. The place was busy and everyone was in motion. But, after many minutes of waitresses passing back and forth next to us and with nobody behind the bar, we simply left. We were never greeted and so never did find out if they could accommodate us or if there was a wait. I guess additional guests weren't a priority. It isn't much to look at from the front or rear façade or even from the inside for that matter, but the food and service is impeccable. On my last dinner out I had their prime rib and WOW! The prime rib was cooked to perfection and a gracious portion. The server was very courteous, prompt and attentive. My husband Timmy and I had an outstanding experience at the Riverside. We have tried countless times, as of recent, to dine there, however each attempt brought disappointment due to them being slammed...great for them, sad for us. Tonight, we were greeted immediately by a very friendly young lady and seated at a nice table in the front window area. We ordered a bottle of wine, from their ample and reasonable wine list. Our salads were accompanied by warm bread and an amazing garlic oil...deeelish! I had baked ravioli, with added meatball and Tim had his favorite, chicken parmigiana...both outstanding. In addition to excellent food, the service was outstanding...the owner was pleasant, attentive, and truly cared about our experience. This is the second time I tried the Riverside, and unfortunately the last time. I went in yesterday with my girlfriend, they were at of steak which yeah it's 8:00 PM on Valentine's Day okay that's fine. The woman server said, "oh we have a filet tonight that we still have would you like that?". We ordered that it comes out gravy and mozzarella cheese on a filet? First look at the steak it's not a filet. It tasted like my old high school cafeteria burgers if they were steak... They were as tough as beef chuck. The filet wasn't on the menu and I was like I bet anything that horrible plate is gonna be about $35 apiece. Also to mention their Caesar salad dressing tasted like straight vinaigrette. Horrible stomach aches about 1 hour after eating here, even worse in the morning. I know my steaks, I've eaten at the best steak restaurant in the US. I can cook a better steak at my house, than what I ate here and for about $75 cheaper. I don't recommend this place. I hope these people leaving reviews are not real people and just bot review because if they are real then they are missing ALOT, maybe they don't have a tongue possibly? We were hoping for a great meal and were prepared for the prices but we found two different salmon dishes that were extremely disappointing. The wait staff was great and the atmosphere was informal and friendly but the salmon special was over cooked and fishy while the grilled salmon from the menu was still partially cold (not even close to cool and may have been still partially frozen) inside when ordered medium rare. The pasta was cooked nicely though the default red sauce was a little too sweet. There were other options that might have been safer to try so we would consider another visit to checkout the chicken or eggplant parm. read more

Such an amazing hidden gem. My mom, boyfriend, and myself drove to Malone NY today from Vermont because I recently had foot surgery and I needed to get out of the house. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful interior of this restaurant and wonderful wait staff. We loved our meals so delicious and I don't think I've had a better tasting steak. I had high expectations based on the reviews on Yelp and the recommendations of friends. Sadly, I was disappointed. The staff was great, and visually, it's a beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately, the food let me down. My steak was overcooked. I ordered medium and it was closer to well done than medium. The steak was also loaded with fat. The baked potato was so hard I could barely scrape the insides out. I left half the potato uneaten as it was dry on top of being overcooked. My waitress never came back to check on the quality of my food which is my only complaint about the service. The salad was great, and I enjoyed the dipping oil and bread I was given at the beginning. While we don't have a lot of high-end choices in Malone, this one, based on my experience, does not deserve its reputation or warrant the hefty price you'll pay for a meal. read more

NO doubt, Malone NY is not the foodie capital of anytown USA, but the Riverside Steak and Seafood is pretty darn good, for the location. We come thru Malone once a year and we would not think of going anywhere else. While the food can be better, it is pretty darn good, especially if you take the staff recommendations. This is possibly the best restaurant in town. The family is friendly, the environment is warm, friendly, and classy, with a hint of a home feeling. The food is always hot and fresh and the cuisine is true-to-Italian. I have never had better Spaghetti as well as sea food!
