We dined at morelys last nite and granted it was very busy, but we had to hunt the waitress down several times for drinks. When we ordered food, we waited forever to get it and when it came, it was cold. The French fries were hard, the shaved prime rid was too salty and cold. My wife got the haddock and it was very hard and cold. The total meal was terrible. When the waitress came back with the bill, I told her this meal was horrible, worst meal I ever had and she said, " I'm sorry, I'll tell the kitchen. Do you want a box ?". I said I hardly think so, it is terrible food. There was no offer to compensate at all. Sorry Morelys....Won't be back! read more

Was great to visit the North country after a few years...I found this restaurant still going strong! Actually the food was top notch. A large group of us went for dinner. Everyone loved their meals. Handcrafted cocktails were delicious and a good treat! I recommend the Scallops with the parsnip purée...amazing Also creamed spinach was a delicious side. Wait staff inadequacies combined with adequate yet uninspired dishes ( calamari, Gouda burger & chicken marsala) sum up our single experience here. Chef could be heard yelling in kitchen. Had dinner at Morley's Tuesday evening to celebrate my Mom's birthday. Overall, the food was pretty good. The service was not. As we walked into the restaurant around 5:45, no one was seating customers and a waitress indicated we could sit wherever we wanted. We picked a table and she brought us menus. Didn't fill our water glasses or ask us if we would like drinks to start with. We waited about 10 minutes, and another waitress stopped by to ask if we had been waited on. We asked her for water and if we could order some drinks. She came back and filled our water glasses immediately, and then was followed by our waitress who took our drink order. We asked to put in our appetizer order; ordered Calamari, Crab Cakes, and Onion Petals to share. My mom asked her to give us some time between drinks and appetizers coming out, and she replied back 'Yes, that's usually how it works.' Rude. The waitress brought out the Calamari and Crab Cakes, made no mention of the Onion Petals. I asked her about the order and she said 'They're on the way,' hurrying off to another table. The Onion Petals arrived shortly after. The Calamari was excellent - very light breading and perfectly done. Onion Petals were very good as well. The Crab Cakes were tasty, but overdone. The waitress came back halfway through our appetizers to take our entrée order. My mom and I were both interested in the salmon, but wanted to know where it was sourced from. My mom ordered the salmon, and then I asked where it came from (wild caught or farmed). She told me she didn't know but could ask, which was fine. She came back and let us know it was farmed, which changed both of our minds. This must have thrown her off, because it took a bit to get our orders straight. I ordered the broiled seafood platter, and my mom and her wife both ordered Ribeyes. All of our entrees came with salads and bread, so those were next to come out. We were seated at a four-top, so now our table was getting crowded with dishes - good thing we didn't have a fourth person with us. Instead of removing our appetizer plates, she waited while we moved dishes around on the table and then put down our salads and bread. I asked her for boxes for the leftover appetizers, hoping this would be a hint that we'd like the table cleared. She brought two Styrofoam containers, handed them to me, and left. I boxed up our appetizers and started stacking plates at the open seat at the table. We started joking, estimating how high the stack would get before she cleared the table. We got through our salads and stacked those plates as well so we would be ready for our entrees. I finally took a picture and then flagged another waitress, and asked her if we could get the plates cleared from our table. She graciously took them away for us. Now you may be thinking that was due to being busy. When we first arrived, there were two people in the dining room (each at different tables). Part way through our appetizers, a couple more tables came in. It wasn't until we were eating our salads that it really started getting busy. I can't speak to what was going on in the bar area. Our waitress, carrying entrees for the table of two that came in during our appetizers, popped in to say 'They're plating your dinners.' Our dinner came out shortly thereafter. The broiled seafood platter was very good - all the seafood was cooked perfectly. My Mom's steak was a little underdone, but the flavor was there. On the flip, her wife's steak as a little past the medium-rare that she requested. However, both were satisfied and said the food was good. We finished dinner and added our leftovers to the boxes we already had. She came back and cleared our plates, asking us if we would like dessert. We ordered after dinner drinks instead - a Kahlua & cream, a Brandy Alexander, and a Bailey's on the rocks. She came back shortly and said they didn't have the ingredients for a Brandy Alexander. Brandy, cream, and Crème de Cacao. Really? My Mom switched her order to a Bailey's as well. She came back with two Bailey's on the rocks, and a Kahlua on the rocks. I asked her if I could get the cream with the Kahlua and she went and brought it back. Couldn't be the cream they were missing for that Brandy Alexander. Overall we had good food and good company (hence the three stars instead of 1 or 2), and I recommend them for the food and atmosphere. I was surprised by the lack of customer service - I hope this is something they really put some focus on. read more

Great little restaurant with great food. The wait for the food was around 25 minutes, there was two big parties that probably backed the kitchen up. I got the southwest burger and it was very good, the price was a-little expensive around $14 for a burger. All in all fun spot to go. read more

Came in April 1st, 7 pm, not busy whatsoever in there. The first time our server comes to my table we ordered immediately because we were hungry. Finally 8:15 comes around, still no food. Got up told the waitress we are leaving. We saw people that got there after us getting fried food, food that takes longer to cook than spaghetti, grilled cheese, and a salad. Place is alright. Pretty average food. Ate in the bar room and it had really nice lighting. Boyfriend and I ordered mozzarella sticks as an app, I got the cheese ravioli, and he got the black and blue burger for entrees. Mozzarella sticks came out still cold in the middle, and the waiter got us new ones. When he came out with the new order, I also asked for a cocktail, which he said sure to, but both of us thought we percieved that he gave a bit of an attitude. Entrees came, and he thought his burgers and fries were pretty average, on the side if good. My food tasted fine as well, but my pasta was definitly under cooked. My friend, my aunt and myself went to Morley's on 3/2 excited to try out the new place. I wrote my review while dining because I wanted to make sure I was getting all three of our opinions accurately. Server very nice Bread.. red lobster style cheese biscuits. Slightly warm, greasy, tastes like they have been made and sitting for awhile. If they were fresh from the oven they wouldn't be to bad.. still very commercial. Catfish strips.. while nice and crunchy.. the breading had absolutely no flavor and the catfish, while it didn't taste fishy, was quite flavorless and mushy. Salad.. small but ordinary. 1-2 slices of red onion, 2 cherry tomatoes, some carrot shavings and very wilted soft lettuce. Dressings came out in soufflé cups w lids. Blue cheese was good, not sure if its homemade or from a jar. The ranch and French tasted very much like they came from jars. Surf and turf.. lobster was cooked to perfection. Sweet and tender. Not one bit chewy. Filet was tender.. the outside was a bit crusty and crunchy, a bit pot roasty. The inside was very good. This would def be a per person personal taste. Ny strip.. Was seasoned very nicely and cooked perfect and was very tender. I can't say it was extraordinary but it was good and I would order it again. Baked potato was just a baked potato Strawberry shortcake.. was good.. nice warm buttery biscuit with fresh frozen strawberries. Topped with whipped topping. Cheesecake with strawberries... basic cheesecake with fresh frozen strawberries and whipped topping. These were the only dessert options. If you don't like strawberries then your out of luck. Our waitress was very friendly and good... but we ended up feeling like she wasn't really engaged. But I'm not saying she was that way purposefully. She was very busy and had more tables to wait on than she probably should have had. Salad dressings and sour cream are served in the soufflé cups.. Price point, I feel, is high for Massena. 45.00 for surf and turf which included salad and bread. Lobster tail while good was 6-8oz and filet was about 8 oz. NY Strip was about 8-10 oz for 19.00 Again, bread and salad. All sides are ala cart. 3.00 per side. Presentation was very plain and unimaginative. Arugula with a lemon twist. Very boring. So over all if I'm paying upwards of 50.00 for a meal I don't want my salad dressing coming out in a soufflé cup, I would rather have my side included than my salad. And the presentation more eye appealing and exciting than something I would get from a local diner. read more

Food is good but overpriced for the area this is Massena not NYC ... service was terrible ... not a great place if you have small kids. We waited 5 minutes after being seated before anyone came and brought menus because the staff couldn't decide who was going to take our table. It took almost 45 minutes for our food to come out as we watched other tables seated long after we got in get food... Our water glasses were refilled once during the entire time and mostly sat empty just waiting to be refilled. We got a burger for our kids to share and it was loaded with so much salt and pepper they couldn't eat it... again no kids menu so really not a small kid friendly place. read more

This was my second visit to Morley's. The first visit was ok, not great but ok. The second visit just went downhill. We were a group of 8 on a Sunday afternoon. I think the first thing that we all noticed, not really a big deal but it definitely was noticeable, were the linens on some of the tables. They were so incredibly wrinkled it was a point of conversation for a bit. Some of the tables had nice, fresh, crisp linens and then these linens that looked like they had been left all wadded up in a basket for days. Of course that had no bearing on the food but the overall perception was not fine dining. I do feel bad because we really had high hopes for a new good restaurant in town. Hopefully it gets better. Just to start from the top... the rolls that came out were like little golf balls. They had absolutely no flavor at all and not at all edible. The salad had the most wilted, rubbery lettuce ... this was also inedible. 2 friends ordered salmon. We really have no idea what kind of fish it was. It was brown, over cooked and was not fresh. I ordered the farfalle ceci... I am posting pictures of what I got v what its supposed to be, it was a complete disappointment. On a positive note the burger was good and the prime rib sandwich was good. Now here is the pet peeve ...we were charged %18 gratuity... But there is nothing on the menu stating that they add the gratuity to larger parties. I am very familiar with this practice but it's always posted in the menu. We were hereon a Friday night which is fish fry night. Dakota was a new server but exceptionally competent and attentive. I had walleye and my partner had shrimp and grits. Both were great. My husband and I had dinner at Morley's the other day. We started with the calamari appetizer. It was one of the worse we have ever had, tasteless batter and not meaty at all. Then we were served our Caesar salads, a $3 up charge each, even though a salad was included in my husband's order. Our salads were served room temperarture (I like mine cold) and almost more croutons than lettuce. My catfish sammy was good. My husband said his entree, lobster ravioli, was a small portion and tasted like it was frozen. Just as a sideline, I was going to order poutine, but they put mozzarella cheese on it, not cheese curd. It will be a long time, if at all, before we eat here again. read more

What a disappointment. We ate here a few months ago and the food was outstanding. This time it was bad. As in awful. The portions were very, very small. They were more like an appetizer rather than the entree. My dinner companion said part of the meal was cold but should've been hot. The only part of the meal we enjoyed was the warm bread. Had a great lunch here today. Prices seem the same as anywhere and the food we had was very good and plentiful. Prime Rib Sammie was great- real a jus and served on a homemade bun. Chicken wings were perfect. Meaty cooked perfectly and delicious. Servers were really busy but no complaints on the service we received, even moved table and chairs around to accommodate my mom because we couldn't sit at a high top. Ate here for mothers day and the service seemed overwhelmed with the amount of people. While our waitress did try her very best and the water man was polite and prompt, it seems as though they were not prepared for a large crowd. The fries were too salty, the special (prime rib) was undercooked, and the chicken tenders dis not come with a sauce. Maybe if we had visited the restaurant on a non special occasion it would have been different . Not sure if I am willing to give it another try though .....was not impressed at all....... read more
