I got a small meat lasagna with tomato sauce and a small meat with rose sauce. I will say at $10 for a small, the quantity is great. A small could easily serve two people and the large is only $14. For the taste test- maybe I was mistaken in choosing to take my lasagnas to go. The tomato sauce lasagna didn't have that ooey gooey hot cheesy thing going on, not sure if my home oven did the trick or if the lasagna itself is to blame. The rose sauce lasagna did get nice and steamy (I heated them both together for the same amount of time so not sure how that happened). The tomato sauce one was underwhelming. Nothing to critique, but nothing impressive about it. The rose sauce was more interesting maybe because of the creamy element. But even that isn't a lasagna I'd rave about or recommend someone go out of their way to try. All in all, I was left feeling disappointed. If a restaurant only makes one thing, they better make it really well, and this missed the mark.

Howdy! After the…read morelate and lamented closing of Chez Clo, Montreal has lacked in the quantity of restaurants serving more traditional Quebecois fare. The Binerie kind of ruled the roost. I recently discovered La Bonne Humeur. A cute and delightful restaurant on a mainly residential strip of Bellechase. Open for breakfast and lunch, the food that they serve is both delicious and hearty. Which is a very good thing as the weather turns cold. Traditional food such as Sausages, Liver and Ham steak are on the menu which is supplemented by a daily special which changes as you would expect, daily. Alain and Gilles Cauvier are the two brothers who run the place. Alain handles breakfasts and Gilles handles lunch. The meals are extremely affordable and delicious as well. On a recent visit I ate a stuffed meatloaf with a tomato sauce, mashed potatoes and steamed carrots that was $9 and came with a cream of mushroom soup to start with and upsidedown fruit cake for dessert.
