Coaches corner is likely the highest class watering hole in town. The place is old like everything else in town but the old architecture has its charm. Most of the menu is basic stuff, wraps, salads and burgers but if particular note is the two most popular dishes - the playmaker and the touchdown. The playmaker is a chicken breast on a bun all dressed and topped with melted cheese. The touchdown is prime rib on a toasted roll with au jus. Coaches posts specials for lunch and dinner daily on Facebook and every Saturday they have a Bloody Mary/Bloody Caesar special which is a drink with a snack on top. Great gimmick and a lot of fun. I'm not one to leave reviews but I feel it's needed...My husband and I went out with a group of our friends this weekend and we all ordered Caesar's with little pepperoni pizza rolls on them they were supposed to be roses for Valentine's Day, very festive. The Caesar's tasted great, my husband said it's the best he's had and I would have to agree, the whole group enjoyed them and the many other drinks we ordered. Not only was our service great I felt the need to share how awesome we thought the bartender was. First off the place was packed. I've never seen it that busy in there and the girl behind the bar was there all by herself and not only was she busy with tending to everyone at the bar she was also the only one in the dining area it seemed taking care of the multiple tables that came in all almost at the same time as each other. Our group thought she was great and we were not the only ones we overheard other customers at the bar commending her for her service and seemed everyone enjoyed the Caesar's. Even before a table left they came up and told her she was awesome. She was killing it, kudos to that girl. I wish I caught her name! Fast, friendly, and attentive. She even was cracking jokes with us. My Husband and I have been there before a few times and just a few weeks ago we were in and it was not even a fraction as busy as what it was this time we were in and we got better service this weekend then when we were in before and considering how many people were in there and how attentive she was to everyone I wanted to give her her flowers. You really have an all star worker in there, we hope to see her again! We definitely will be back. We tried out the Gristmill Brewery the weekend before and the service was like night and day. I never thought I'd be writing a negative review for this restaurant, as we have been loyal customers for over 10 years. There was a time when we were coming at least once a week for lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, the service has declined so badly that we won't be returning. Last Friday night around 7 PM, we came in for dinner. The dining room was nearly empty, only two other tables seated, while the bar area was busy and actively being served food. We sat at our table for at least 15 minutes without a single person greeting us, offering water, or taking a drink order. We eventually walked out and went elsewhere. This weekend, I decided to give it another chance. It was Saturday night around 6:30 PM. Everyone deserves a second chance, right? Unfortunately, this experience was even worse. Appetizers came out with no sauces (ranch or marinara), which we had to ask for. Clam chowder was served with no spoon, again, had to ask. A soda was ordered and never brought to the table; someone had to physically get up and ask for it. When dinner was served, everyone's food came out at different times. A steak was brought without a knife, and by the time one finally arrived, the steak was cold and tough. A meal was missing the salad entirely, and the plating overall was sloppy and unappealing. One guest ordered buffalo chicken sliders that were listed on the specials board. Instead, they brought out a children's meal--cheeseburgers, Kraft mac and cheese, and a juice box--for an adult woman. When we told the server it was incorrect, he went to the kitchen and came back to say that was actually a lunch special and the board hadn't been changed. At that point, we had already been there nearly an hour and a half. The guest said she'd just eat her appetizer instead. The server insisted on checking if the kitchen could still make the sliders, then disappeared. The meal was never brought out.About 20 minutes later, the server returned asking if we were ready for the check. The bill included the children's meal that was brought incorrectly - which was priced at $11.99 for 2 cheeseburger sliders and $9.99 for a cup/side of KRAFT mac and cheese, charged $12.99 for fried cheese curd when the board clearly said $11.99, and included a credit card surcharge without even asking how we wanted to pay (we were paying cash). We asked to speak to a manager or the owner and were told that those individuals were not present to speak to. I am not someone who leaves bad reviews lightly, especially for a place I've supported for over a decade. But the service was disorganized, inattentive, and unacceptable from start to finish. It's incredibly disappointing to say that this restaurant is no longer what it used to be, and sadly, we won't be coming back. They are getting a 1 star review because 0 stars is not an option. read more

Got an order of Wings on "wing night" and it was a nice size portion of wings, but they were cold. Didn't even feel like they had been microwaved, just cooked and sat out for a few hours. It took like 20-30 minutes for them to come out so I thought they were cooking them, but I don't know how that could be true if they come right out of the kitchen and were already cold. Service was slow. I guess for them they were crowded, maybe 20 people in the whole place, but they had 4-5 servers so seems like it should've been faster. I was a regular customer, a couple of times a month. I always get a Montreal steak. I know that I've eaten at least 30 of them throughout the years. Two weeks ago I ordered a rare Montreal steak and my girlfriend ordered a well done burger but what we got was a rare burger and a well done steak. The righteous was very nice. She realized the mistake and credited us for the steak and burger that we did not eat. We only paid for the french fries. We went there on May 30, 2024 at about 8:15 PM. We set for 20 minutes before anybody came to our table. This time the Montreal steak was cooked great, and tasted good, but the mushrooms they put on the side. It was drenched in a strong alcoholic beverage like wine to the point. I have never had it like that before. I also didn't receive a steak knife I had to eat with a butter knife, the french fries were barely warm to touch and cold and eaten. I told the waitress that the food there cost too much to except cold french fries and she told me that it was impossible to get cold french fries, and I told her you think I'm lying just feel and she did. She's walked away and did not come back until the check, she said she would take the french fries off of the bill and she did not. She also forgot to give me my salad and tried to give it to me after I had already started on the dinner so I told her to take it away. She was a horrible waitress and this place has really taken a turn for the worst. It's basically the same price as the lobster house. The place was nice, staff was friendly enough. My disappointment was in the prime rib. I actually launched a fork a few feet trying to cut the meat. I ordered it rare and it was medium, tough and very bland. The au jus tasted like slightly burn beef broth. If you are going here for the bar and some appetizers I would recommend it. But as for a dinner out with the family no. The vibe is good but a little dingy and dark. I got the prime rib, it was decent. My wife got the chicken Alfredo and was dissatisfied by the Alfredo sauce quantity and quality as well as the noodle selection, instead of fettuccine it was a thin spaghetti noodle. I would recommend not wasting your money on this place. Service was extremely slow, waitress kept giving excuses the computer was down however we observed other waitresses putting in orders in the same computer and at the bar computer. Clam chowder was horrible was straight from a can and disgusting. Other patrons came after us and received food before us. Other patron were also aggravated at the slow service and a long time waiting to get the credit card back after paying the waitress. The waitresses were running around and unorganized. This was the first and last visit to this place. I would highly recommend going to the Twinleaf Diner in Hogansburg, NY. Great service, great food, awesome prices, and very clean. 5 stars. I consider this one of Massena's best. It is a lot more than a hamburger joint. It is set ip as a Sportsbar and restaurant. It is usually quite busy and popular with the locals. The menu is fairly complete and has a sports theme. Everything from sandwiches to very complete dinners. Steaks and Italian dishes are excellent. You can't go wrong at Coach's. read more

When you pull into the parking lot outside Coach's, you immediately think that you are going to enter an establishment with bikers at the bar and sawdust on the floor. Nothing could be further from the truth! If I choose to go there, I'll try on go on a Monday night as it is 50 cent wing night. Put on your big boy pants and just go in. The inside is really nice with cool sports stuff everywhere. The bar large, lots of good seating. Our party tried many items off the menu and all were happy. NEVER GREAT but sometimes good...Sometimes the worst...Service and food are both definitely hit or miss...Sometimes it is good and sometimes its sucks...I guess it depends on who is cooking for you and who is waiting on you. The last time we went there is the LAST TIME we will be going there....When in for a meal, sat at a table near the bar, ordered our meal and got drinks and 1 HOUR later we are still sitting there with no meal, no waitress, NO one has been over to our table to give us a status of our meal update...Finally my spouse and I look at each order and say that's enough. Big mistake. I think they grew the calf in the back yard. Everyone in my party ate before me. Meals would come out, others would wait and we were the only ones in the hole. About 90 min after the first meal was delivered (10 in party) the last few meals were delivered. Tried to shake the cheese out of the container brought to the table as there was by this time none left and it was clogged. I took the cap off to shake some out and found MOLD under the cap yet the shaker was filled to the almost top. After that I was done. A relative changed her order from milk to sprite or 7up or something. The glass came with lots of fruit flies in it. (added protein?) She decided on hot tea. The tea was still in the package ($5 tea omg) and it wasn't even Lipton. The lemons also ordered were soggy, slightly sweet and gross tasting. After an all night trial to get out of there we left.
