Was there for dinner on a Friday night. they initially told us it would be a 30 minute wait then they moved tables around and we were sat quickly. Service was great. I started with the spicy margarita which was delicious. we had boneless wings, bourbon molasses-they were very good. I had chicken and waffles grilled cheese and husband had Thanksgiving poutine. Nice place out in middle of no where. Good size place it has nice bar off to side and restaurant side was large. Booths we're comfortable. Waitress was friendly, food came out fast. Ordered the Buf Cauliflower App, It was tasty, cauliflower was soft inside. The blue cheese was tasty had nice texture. Steak and potato soup had a zing to it. Was different and hot and flavorful. Had Chicken Carbonara- tasty, missing the bacon had peppers and onions mixed in with pasta. Pulled onions and peppers out little to big for us. Mac n Cheese app that was suppose to have pulled pork on it but no pulled pork had few tasty crispy onions on top with jalapeño chunks mixed in. Def different, it was tasty. We ate there last night. Excellent food. The burgers were delicious. I had the waffle chicken grilled cheese, which was excellent. We started with buffalo chicken wings, also good. Service is a bit slow but worth the wait. Nice beer and drink selection. read more

The Timber Tavern is located in gods country but it's well worth the trip getting there. The log cabin atmosphere is cozy and the staff are extremely friendly. Our waitress was fantastic, checking on us regularly. The menu is loaded with all kinds of great comfort food choices from prime rib poutine, huge burgers, and amazing sandwiches to full dinner entrees. I had a hot turkey sandwich loaded with fresh Turkey, mashed potatoes and a delicious gravy. We will definitely be back! read more

Omg! This place looked like your typical bar stop in the middle of nowhere, but it was so much more. My sister and I were at the Spud Run in Brasher Falls with family and wanted to try a new place. So I yelped local goodies and found this gem. From the staff to the menu(see my photo)! This place was pretty cool and the food was damn good. Well done for a bar in Upper New York! This restaurant has arguably the best quality food in the county. The deep fried cheese curds are levels above any other restaurant. The prime rib special always has a well seasoned crust and melts in your mouth. Their burgers are their specialty, and it shows with the quality of meat, creativeness with toppings, and a large selection to pick from. The staff is always very friendly, and they do a great job of taking care of their customers. If you find yourself there on the weekend, odds are the owner will be coming table to table to see how your food is. It is uncommon to see a restaurant owner caring this much about the quality of his product. The weekend drink specials are always different and very creative. From dragonfruit mojitos to "The firework" on the 4th of July, there is always something new to try. Overall this is my favorite restaurant in the area and I never leave unsatisfied. read more

Hidden gem of the north country. Great food, awesome service, great atmosphere. 25 years ago this place was a great dive bar, now it's a great bar and restaurant. Love that this is the only place to stop in in the country. The place is clean and the help is very good. I love the frosted glasses that add lots of crispness to some great beer on tap. We had the wings which were very very good. Also ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich- came with a big chicken breast and very spicy- Loaded with good hot onion rings. All was very surprisingly good and reasonably priced. My only beef is the last three times I've stopped here with friends there have been kids in the bar and sitting at the bar...no offense we go there to get AWAY from our children and please have them sit in the dining room away from the bar folks. read more

Love this place. Walk in and enjoy the heat radiating from the wood stove. Start off with a drink from the bar. There is much to choose from with the abundant choices of draft beer and pretty much whatever else you are looking for. You can either eat in the bar area or in the dining room. We wanted to sample several items so we chose chicken wings, Pig Wings (bbq riblets) and a huge bowl of chili. All were fabulous. I would give no stars if possible. We (family, friends) have gone frequently to another establishment in the area. The place we had been going has been great, we are treated like super stars. However there was a recent change at this place & we are afraid things may go downhill. We have been there twice since the change & were told it would be a hour or more for food so we did not stay. Hence we were looking for another place to go via atv & the timber Tavern was our pick. Our son was there a couple weeks ago via atv & everything was okay, he says the place was empty. We were there a few years ago & it was good. I do believe my son was cheated on the number of his chicken wings, but not a deal breaker. So on my wife's birthday we decided to go via atv to the Timber Tavern for dinner. We were all starving, had not eaten since early a.m. . We arrived at about 5 p.m. & went through the back entrance. We were meant by a server & was asked if we had reservations. She informed us it was graduation weekend. Of course we did not have reservations & never heard of this before. I asked if this was posted on facebook which I dumped a couple weeks ago. She said it was advertised on facebook that reservations were NEEDED. We did check this & reservations were RECOMMENDED. The area we came in had many vacant tables, but the server was giving us no options, she wanted us out. My son asked if he could go to the bar & she said that was full, it did look pretty full. So out the the door we went hungry & not happy. In the parking area we meant a man (maybe the owner or cook) because he went in the kitchen area. Prior to going inside he asked how it was going & we were frank with him, but no help there. I probably spend a grand or more per year at our usual place, but apparently the Timber doesn't need anymore steady flow of money. I guess it's back to our usual place where we are welcomed. My boyfriend and I brought our families here and had a great experience. I ordered the fish tacos, he ordered the country fried pork steak and they were both delicious. It was very busy when we were there but managed to get our food out in 20 min. The waitress, Katie, promptly refilled our drinks and made sure we had everything we needed once our food arrived.
