They were understaffed and the servers were beyond frustrated with the manager and the way things were being handled. Our server (Brooke) was fantastic and was pushed to tears due to the way things are being handled by the manager. While Brooke (and the other servers) were great. The Manager was the total opposite. His approach was arrogant and quite condescending. He did not help to solve problems, only made things worse. Food was so backed up we ordered a couple pizzas and brought them to our table. And getting a drink was just as bad. I never did get my food order. It was too late (and after a few drinks) to leave and go elsewhere. And that patio is quite a nice location. Lots of space and comfortable. Overall The hotel is quite clean md modern and well appointed. Not fancy but quite nice. I will stay here again. If you want to eat or have a drink there are many more restaurants a a short drive away in downtown Cornwall that will leave you well fed and satisfied. The Jet Set is not one of them. They need to review this operation before it's too late.

The bartender/owner was excellent, more than happy to answer all questions and make friendly recommendations. We tried the garlic parm, spicy maple, raquette river pub and hoopie toopie. All were very good. If you like a different spin, try the spicy maple, I really liked it. Lots of beer choices. No problem there. If you're a beer and wings person, this is a stop for you. We haven't tried their other menu items but will come back and try their brunch, it sounds delicious!!

One of the reasons we did come back was that the owner gave us a 50% off appetizer coupon being a new customer. After ordering our drinks, a big slide IPA for me and their version of a whiskey sour, we ordered our meal. We had asked for the small appetizer platter with mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, and onion rings. We also ordered an appetizer order of their bourbon sliders. What showed up was actually the large appetizer platter with everything on it and our bourbon sliders. I know we ordered the small platter but at least we only had to pay 50% of the large platter. Overall, it was not bad, just not good. The bourbon sliders were OK as well. Maybe it was us, maybe it was just that our bartender server seemed awfully overwhelmed? Whatever it was, it just wasn't the same as our first visit.

When we showed up, we saw the true name of the bar and were beyond shocked. Two of us are Native Americans and we didn't even want to go inside when we saw the true name of the dive. But we had driven over an hour to get there and decided to overlook our discomfort with the name and played anyway. During one set, an older man who was dancing dropped like a hammer, flat on his face right on the dance floor. He didn't move for many minutes and looked absolutely dead. We stopped playing at that point and asked the bartender if we should call 911 but she was adamant that he would be OK and that we should leave things be. Eventually, the man was dragged off the floor and regained consciousness, although he seemed very dazed. This joint should be closed on the basis of the name alone. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

This was such an unexpected treat!…read more Walking around Lake Placid, we bumped into a couple who wound up suggesting a couple of restaurants for us to check out. Cavu was at the top of their list! And with their description of planes taking off and landing nearby, we thought it would be the perfect spot to bring our toddler. To access the restaurant, you have to walk into the airport. I've never been in such a tiny airport before! The cafe space overlooks the tarmac, but we were a little bummed that we only saw one plane takeoff while we were eating. We aren't locals and assumed there would be more! But that wasn't an issue. Plus, once my toddler started to get fussy, the staff whipped out a coloring book and some crayons. It was so so kind of them and nice that they were prepared. The food was excellent as well. My husband got the hash and eggs and was very pleased with the big hunks of corned beef throughout the hash. I tried his homefries and they were also delicious! I got the apple stuffed french toast to share with my toddler. It was perfect. We also got a side of maple cream, which I still dream of. Will definitely come back on our next trip to the area.
