As a new Vegan I'm almost terrified of Chains, I mean don't they presoak everything in butter? And then I'm going to have to ask a million questions, to severs who wont be cooking my food. Luckily, I had one of the worlds nicest waiters! He was extremely friendly and gave me the inside veggie scoop, so I could get as many veggies as possible, and he made sure that there was no butter! He had one of those positive attitudes that were absolutely contagious, one of the people who you can tell actually enjoyed his job. Not very many customers in there We had a very loud and boisterous waitress. .Very friendly but very loud. My daughter had the turkey dinner. Two slices that tasted like it came from the deli. I had the French sandwich w/ ajus, tje roll was hard and so were the French fries. The only thing good was the Cole slaw. My daughters mashed potatoes left an after taste in your mouth like they were old. Potatoes. Very dissatisfied and disappointed on the whole episode. Will not be going there again. read more

They have a good selection of food and are one of the only places open past 830pm on a weeknight in the area! We got in late after driving down from Montreal and did a quick search for something we could all have for dinner. This place fit the bill! One of my coworkers had the chicken soup, another had the flatbread, and I had the broccoli cheddar soup as well as the seafood appetizer served in scallop shells. Very poor service. Usually better service when you sit at the bar. Wrong! My husband and I ordered Surf and Turf and Caesar salad. They brought our salad at the same time as the meal. My mashed potatoes had more flavor than the steak. When we were obviously done eating we were asked if we wanted dessert, we declined. Then asked if we wanted a box. we said no thank you. Then she walked away and brought us back our check. We did each want another drink but we're never asked if there was anything else we'd like. While staying at the B/W Plattsburgh we noticed a restaurant attached to the hotel. Ninety Nine might me a chain but it wasn't too bad. We have the seafood trio which is scrod, scallops and shrimp in a casserole dish with butter and breadcrumbs. Actually very tasty and was surprised how good it was. I had the Fried Shrimp which was smaller shrimp but around 20 in the order and fries so you got your money's worth. Decent amount of lunch time crowd so worth giving them a shot. read more

It's rare that I rate anything this poorly, but I gave it two chances and was truly disappointed on both visits. I got "99" reasons to dislike this place but here's a few: About a month ago I came with my bf and we ordered 2 lobster roll dishes, their hot buttered one and the cold version blended with mayo and celery. Lobster smelled fishy, it was chewy and rubbery - just not what I was expecting for some of their most expensive and successfully advertised menu items. They couldn't even get my drink right, I specifically asked the waitress if they served "sweet tea" and she said yes but brought me generic Brisk iced tea. Not what I wanted. I filled out their customer satisfaction survey when I got home and was contacted by the manager who sent me a 40$ gift card so I could hopefully have a better experience. Now we go back, order prime rib and mac and cheese. Prime rib is their most expensive menu item, people must not order it often or the cooks just don't know what they are doing because we asked for medium rare and it came back well done the first time. I mentioned I liked it bloody, it comes back the second time, slightly pink- not red. Whatever. We eat it anyways and feel bad for wasting their meat. These people are not making any money from us.. My chicken and broccoli mac and cheese is of a generous portion, looks hearty and delicious but it has a creamy white alfredo type sauce which I wasn't too fond of and the pasta was overcooked, mushy. They should have just renamed it an alfredo dish because I was expecting more gooey, stringy cheddar cheese type sauce. Oh we tasted their nachos and mozzarella cheese sticks too as appetizers, they just don't compare to Applebees down the street in terms of taste and value! We were comped dessert on the house on both visits, it was an overall sad experience. Think about it, even with the free gift card, they still screwed up and had to give us more free food. I would surely never pay for anything there again. To make things worse, the AC was freezing, impossible to sit and enjoy a meal, I had to borrow a sweater and was actually looking forward to returning to our sauna-like car parked under the scorching sun. Btw they have free wifi, but it only works in half of the restaurant. The first time we were seated in the left wing, there was NO signal. Everything is half-a$$ed. AVOID. read more

This place is pretty pedestrian. Nothing that special. I could tell there was a layer of dust on a hanging lamp & when I wiped my finger down the side there was a huge smear where the dust had been. Stopped in here for dinner with my family on our way up north. Decent family restaurant, good food, we had no issues with the steak and buffalo chicken wings. Our waiter and the manager of the restaurant were very attentive and friendly. Similar to Applebees, this one is better in my opinion to some of the Applebees I've visited in the past. While visiting relatives in Plattsburgh, NY, we usually go to your place. The wait staff is attentive. The last time I got the Roast Beef Pub Dip as I was talking to the waitress with my order I forgot to take off the bbq sauce that should be on the side anyways. Did not help the sandwich. The beef was tough should be sliced very thin and the au jus came in a vessel that would not fit the sandwich for dipping. Please do not put the bbq sauce on this sandwich. I was with family and had to eat it, did not like and would not order again. I find I have a hard time finding something I like there. read more

I travel a lot for work as a nurse educator. Often I choose a chain restaurant because they are predictable. Thus my stop at this 99. I sat at the bar and reviewed the menu. Happy hour had passed and I was bummed. The bartender/server Jeremy was welcoming, super friendly and attentive. I shared my sadness in missing happy hour. We went to 99 and although there aren't quite 99 reasons not to come back... there are enough where they are off the list. Do not order the nachos they had no barely any cheese.... and they don't have salsa but again I mean NO cheese... People order Nachos for chips and CHEESE!! We sent them back and the second order had some cheese.... ordered salads and my stepmom found a plastic film and a sticker that said TUESDAY. That went back...My dads T-bone steak that he ordered Medium needed a chainsaw to cut through. We didn't send it back as we had enough. My chicken was encrusted in something which was a heated up chicken breast or at least tasted like it... and my other half's burger was dry. The room all the tables were crammed in was so loud not anyone's fault per say but we are loud and had to keep being louder just to talk to each other. Bottom line 99's food is barely barely mediocre. I would have enjoyed fast food over their fair to poor tasting food. read more

The nachos were sitting in a pool of grease. They were actually soggy with grease. There are almost no vegetarian menu options. The server actually sat down at our table to take our order. My wife, daughter and I were in there last night for dinner. We usually have no problem with the food and the service is great. However, last night the noise in the restaurant was incredible and we did not enjoy our time in the restaurant at all. People around our table were obnoxiously loud and laughing and talking so loud that we were very uncomfortable sitting there. We left early without finishing our entire meal. This particular restaurant takes allergies quite seriously, they have a gluten free menu and most things I ordered looked fresh. Although the chicken that i ordered had that processed chicken look to it and the carrots looked like they were doused in butter, while the rice was cold and crusty, my dining companions however liked their burgers, and the fact that they have gluten-free buns is a plus. The menu has many different options. I really enjoyed the 2 for 1 special on domestic beers. The food is really delicious but I can tell it is a little heavy (at least what I chose).
