Hearty Man's Combo Breakfast

My husband had a doctor appointment in Chambersburg this morning. On the way back, we decided to stop at Perkins. The service, our waitress, was so very nice and friendly. The food was served very hot, was delicious and displayed very nicely as well!!! We would stop there again!!!!

Great food, excellent service and an amazing stop to make while on a road trip to Gettysburg. I wish there was a Perkins in my hometown of Reno Nevada

My husband and I had a great experience here while traveling from New Jersey to Virginia! There's not many places where I could get a full breakfast at dinner time and my husband could get a complete Thanksgiving-esque dinner at the same time (and not spend a ton of money, too). Service was fast and accommodating! Home fries were the highlight for me. Highly recommend this location!

My wife and I have driven past this place hundreds of times over the last five years…read more After running errands in Chambersburg and heading home, we decided to give it a try for breakfast. We each had an omelet. My wife had the Greek omelet, I had the bacon and cheese omelet. Both were very good. My wife really enjoyed hers. The homes fries were good, not bland like most diners/restaurants we have gone to. The coffee was also good, not bitter like many coffees can be. The service was pleasant and attentive. We were sat immediately. There are booths on both sides of the dining area and tables in the middle. The main dining area can comfortably sit approximately sixty to eighty people. There is also a sit down counter as well. What struck me most, was how well laid out and comfortable the dining area was. For a relatively small restaurant it was quaint very clean and comfortable. I was impressed with how some of the booths had frosted glass partitions with nostalgic photos embossed on them. The restaurant also had a cute small electric wooden train running above along the ceiling. The kids really enjoyed watching the train running. I was surprised with the low review ratings from some of the customers. We will be back for lunch or dinner. I feel comfortable recommending this restaurant.

Service: I wish I remember the servers name. She was awesome! I told her she was awesome and she appreciated it. She's very good at her job! Efficient and professional. Ambiance: A great place for a date! My coworker and I went while in the area for business. We sat at a high top near the bar. The place had a nice and chill vibe. We were originally supposed to be seated outside, but when we arrived, the hostess suggested we eat inside since rain was in the forecast. We were seated upstairs, which turned out to be very nice we actually had the entire room to ourselves. If you order the Beef Wellington, I have one recommendation: ask them NOT to cut it in half before serving it. They cut mine open, and as you can see in the picture, it looked absolutely amazing and juicy. Unfortunately, once it was cut, the juices ran out of the beef after a few bites, and the meat started getting a little dry. I think it would be much better to receive the Wellington whole and cut into it yourself, starting at the end so you keep those juices inside the meat. Our server was very nice and greeted us shortly after we were seated. We ordered drinks and an egg roll appetizer that was one of the specials. The egg roll was very good, and the salads that came with our meals were also excellent. The dressing was especially good. For dinner, my wife ordered the chicken special, which was chicken served over mushroom rice with a very good sauce. She really enjoyed it. I ordered the Beef Wellington and when our meals arrived they both looked fantastic. My wife's chicken smelled wonderful, and my Wellington looked amazing. It was also much larger than I expected. The Beef Wellington was honestly one of the top five I've ever had. The pastry was cooked perfectly, and the beef was a beautiful medium rare and very tender. The potatoes were good as well. I wasn't as impressed with the green beans, but that was really the only part of the meal I didn't care for. I do think the Wellington could have been even better with a demi-glace or another good sauce on the plate. The beef itself was excellent, but a good sauce would have taken the dish over the top. Our server was very pleasant, but she wasn't as attentive as we would have liked. I'm not sure if that was because we were placed upstairs, but we could have used refills on drinks quite a bit earlier than we received them. Since we were the only people upstairs, we had to wait for her to come back up to check on us. Still, she was very nice, and I don't want that to take away from what was otherwise a very good experience. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner at Bistro 71. The food was very good, the upstairs dining area was comfortable and quiet, and the Beef Wellington was definitely the highlight for me. I'd order it again--just next time, I'm keeping that Wellington whole until I cut into it myself!
