I was excited to meet my parents here. The service was pretty good. And the menu was interesting. We got two pizzas and two of the sandwich/soup/side combos. The pizza looked good but it wasn't very good. Very doughy. While I liked the cilantro it was overpowering. The other pizza the cheesesteak was overpowered by mushrooms. The Cuba sandwich was just ok. The fries were fine. But not great. The fried avocados were one app we got and they were just bleh. I literally just paid and he told the server refund me my money. So if you're allergic to something or have eating restrictions, you can't ask for something on the side or omit, forget about it!!! I love cafe del sol I've been a customer of the Waynesboro one for many years as of recently (past few months) every time I order my usual favorites they aren't as flavorful???? I don't know if they got a new chef or what but they skimp on a lot of things. The food just isn't as good as it used to be flat out which is sad! The chicken pesto panini and crab nachos are my absolute favorite! The panini has become dry and bland little to no pesto mayo they started using a different bread that does NOTHING for the flavor of the sandwich it's very disappointing, my mom loves the portobello quesadilla and again every time we get it it's half empty, barely any portobello mushroom except a few small pieces it was literally all onion? Weird. Flavor again was bland. Considering switching to another cafe del sol that may be more consistent with the food they put out. read more

I have been coming in to the restaurant for quite some time. Service has been great. I recently have been ordering carry out due to illness. Where I got home and took the food out it was under cooked and the order that I received was NOT what I ordered. I reach out to the restaurant and notified them of that. They stated that I had to drive the food back in to the restaurant. Which meant that I would've had to sit in the restaurant sick waiting for my order to be done correctly. They were extremely rude.. they took ownership and stated that they had a new cook.. then proceeded to argue with me about a refund, stated that they get DoorDash and complaints from people that state they didn't get what they had paid for. I didn't order from DoorDash. whatever they're experiencing through DoorDash should not be reflected on me Any time I've ever been in a restaurant I haven't been happy with the food. They are not rude. They are not nasty. They will remake your order to please the customer. I drove back up to the restaurant and brought in the meal that was undercooked. They continue to argue with me then they told me that they were going to give me a refund which they've never done. when I call back to talk to the owner, he argued with me, stated that I should patronize small businesses. I told him that I'll never come back in that restaurant again. I've frequented Cafe Del Sol in Waynesboro for several years now and at the beginning really enjoyed the majority of their food with the exception of the nachos. The nachos, both the version with actual nacho chips and the version with potato chips, are...well honestly terrible. Over the past year or so I have found the prices have increased, portions are smaller, and the quality of food has gone down. Another disappointing aspect is that delivery service has pretty much hit rock bottom in that several times the delivery option is not available, my order has been delivered to my neighbor's house, drivers have not left the food where the special delivery instructions have specified, arrived well after expected delivery time, and now on Top of having a minimum delivery amount, they now charge a delivery fee. Very disappointing. Today, I decided to try something different and went with the Shrimp Pesto. The order arrived 20 minutes late and was warm at best. The menu describes the dish as being served on tagliatelle pasta yet what it actually contained was penne pasta, not a deal breaker but clearly not as advertised. With the limited number of places to eat in Waynesboro, besides fast food, I'm hoping Cafe Del Sol can get back to how they were years ago. read more

The cuban and tomato bisque soup are winners in my book! Being from FL I love eating cuban sandwiches, but they are hard to come by way up north here. This place does a great job replicating it! I stopped over at this place when I was on my was to Hagerstown for a play and it was a great find being from out of town. The food was a creative and modern take on Mexican inspired dishes. I tried their fried avocado, adobo carnitas tacos, and portabello quesadilla. The fried avocado was super crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside--they come out piping hot though so be warned! The adobo carnitas tacos were sweet and tender and went super well with apple slaw they topped it with. I absolutely loved the multidimensional textures and flavors! It comes with a side of rice and beans which were also yummy but a little skimpy on the beans. The veggie quesadilla had juicy portabello and got a little messy trying to eat because the cheese was a little greasy but was very satisfying. Just ate here for lunch. Nice little place. It's clean and spacious with a casual, but modern atmosphere. They were playing a nice mix of alternative and electronic music. Dimly lit, but open. The price was okay, especially if you catch their lunch combo before 4. It costed about $13 per person. Notable things I tried were the chili, the tomato bisque, the nachos, and the Cuban panini. All were well worth it, except the chili, and the portions of the sides and appetizers were a little generous. We were the only ones in the restaurant, so I don't know how well they do under pressure, but for just us, the service and food were quick. read more
