Cafe Del Sol has a great menu and a couple locations. Don't sleep on this place. I picked up food for a client lunch. They all ordered cheesesteaks with fries and of course, a side of ranch! The fries stayed crispy and the sandwiches stayed hot. The orders came as asked! I got the salad with Caesar salad with pesto shrimp and a side of the fresh cut chips. This lovely local franchise has an extremely varied and extensive menu. I've had about 80 percent of the menu items and they are all excellent. I mean excellent. Wood fired pizza, calzones (my fave - with chorizo sausage and ricotta cheese), wraps, rice bowls, street tacos, soups, pastas (their lasagna is just the best) and great selection of appys. The service is always great and prices are very reasonable. This was the only restaurant I know of in town that opened with a full menu on the first day that Covid restrictions were lifted and the quality never suffered. If you're driving by on 81 or are a local, you won't be disappointed! Awesome spot with a fun variety, everything executed well. The menu has Italian, Asian, and Latin influence. All of which are combined fantastically from what I've seen. We had the black and blue salad, prime rib panini, chimichurri steak tacos, and a pizza half pepperoni and half cheese. The salad and panini were excellent. The fries definitely stand out! Very well seasoned and the perfect combination of crispy and soft. The tacos were excellent. The pieces of steak we're big and delicious. They didn't have panko avocados to add to the tacos and reduced the price slight. The service was fantastic and fast. Our server was very friendly, especially when I mentioned the tacos missing a key ingredient. I'm extremely satisfied with the service! Would love to see free WiFi here eventually. Our son loves this place. And our daughter randomly requests it. It's not bad, just...I guess boring. Menu needs some refreshing. Usually they're out of the crab bisque. I've never had a bad meal, or service. It's just that menu that gets me stuck on 3 stars. It never changes. Which is fine for some restaurants, but not this one. Not when your dishes are so rich that you just want something different that isn't a salad to lighten it up next time. We go back, a lot. And will continue to do so. We came here about 12:30pm on black Friday. This a convenient location to interstate 81. It was not too busy and we were seated right away. The interior is like a rustic modern. They have 6 locations in the region. They have a fairly large menu with appetizers, salads, pizza, panini, sandwiches, pasta, wraps and desserts. We were given menus and told the server we were in a bit of hurry. She brought our drinks and my wife ordered. She gave me some suggestions for good items on the menu. I decided to try the meat lovers pizza and my wife ordered the ham and turkey club panini. Our meals were delivered quickly and looked delicious. They also tasted awesome. A good place for lunch and for something different. This place is what would be the result if you combined Chipotle with &Pizza with Panera Bread. You basically can order a little of everything here. The place has lots of room, big tables, and a clean environment. The waiters are quick. The food is quick. Only giving it 3 stars because it is somewhat expensive for the amount of food you get. However, if you are coming here for lunch, you should be able to get what you want. They got a lunch special where you order a sandwich, a soup, and a side. It seemed like the young lady was more interested in sitting at the front table with her cell phone than ensuring that I had everything we needed including a refill of drinks (Café Del Sol is BYOB) and a box to take the leftovers. Chambersburg is not a large city so considering the dining options this may be "The" place to dine when in the area it does seem to be a very popular dinner spot for the locals. Although the the service was exceptional and the food was very well prepared and the menu offered lots of options from burgers to bisque, alcohol is not an option here unless you bring your own yes it BYOB so don't expect to start the evening off with a crafted Martini or a nice Pinot Noir. Fortunately our host is from the area and brought in a few 12 packs of local brew and a few bottles of wine so plan accordingly. The restaurant has a great ambient and as I stated the staff provided excellent service. We started with a number of appetizers before ordering dinner. I also tried the lobster and crab bisque which was pretty darn good I must admit. I opted for a personal size meat lovers pizza it was freshly made with good ingredients, the homemade crust was really good. A few others ordered burgers and a few the daily specials no one had any complaints with anything served up here. Located in a small strip mall there is plenty of parking and easy access from the service road. Overall conclusion by our group was very positive I'd recommend giving them a try. read more

I had heard good things about this restaurant so I decided to try them since I was craving a quesadilla. BIG MISTAKE!!! They are expensive and the food is crappy!!!! My chicken quesadilla was dripping with grease and it was supposed to have cheese in it but I saw not tasted any cheese! I couldn't even eat the whole thing it was just too greasy. My husbands gyro came dry with no tziki sauce! I guess I could have poured some of the grease from my quesadilla on his gyro to help him choke his sandwich down! $37 for one greasy quesadilla with fries and one dry ass gyro with fries! I should have just gotten McDonalds! Save your money, if you work hard for it like I do they'll only piss you off and leave you hungry! Steak and rice were noticeably over cooked and dry and the steak was VERY gristly (almost every piece of steak) The combination of the veggies and garnishes were poor. Flavor was lacking and had to use some stuff from my fridge to give it a little flavor. Still giving three stars as I like this place and it's not typical, but it's off the list for a while. Hotel clerk suggested we go for lunch (I had said we were looking for Mexican food). It was right around the corner from where we were staying. We walked in to a very large space, not a traditional Mexican restaurant for sure. Looking at the menu, I was immediately disappointed as I was in the mood for a taco salad, and their salads, while interesting, definitely not a taco salad. I suggested to my wife that we look for a Mexican restaurant on Yelp, and she said let's stay, the menu was interesting to her. The waitress informed us that it was BYOB, so no margarita for my wife, but we hadn't unpacked our cooler yet , so we had a few cold beers in the car. Phew, close call there. The waitress suggested the crab nachos and we took a chance. Wow! Wow! First of all, the chips were their house made potato chips. Thick and crunchy and seasoned perfectly. There were bits of scallions and green peppers in the pile of crab meat which had been put under the broiler and browned. Then a really delicious dressing was applied. It was a huge pile of tastiness! I don't ever order the "nachos" that are simply a pile of tortilla chips smothered with some excuse for cheese and top with a bunch of jalepenoes, as I learned to make individual nachos topped with refried beans, a little slab of Monterey Jack and a slice of fresh jalepeno, in Texas about 50 years ago. These crab nachos, while visually evoking the pile of chips and cheese that pass for nachos nowadays, were far from that. They were great. That was our lunch! My friend continued with a beautifully made dinner sized California Salad, which was fresh and artfully prepared.
