A hole that was melted by a chili relleno.

Great food, but Perico's uses a styrofoam container for takeout. The hot food products melt this container and those chemicals are absorbed by the food. I've recommended changing over to cardboard or finding another solution.

This was probably the best burrito I've had on my short New Mexico trip. I got the green combination mini burrito and it was pork marinated with green chilies. I really appreciate that they included a smaller size for people with smaller stomachs and to top it all off, it was only $6 which is a steal. I'm not sure if this is the case for all of their locations, but there is no seating on the inside so this is pick up only. I would have liked it if there was seating, but it wasn't terrible eating in the car albeit it was a bit messy from all the pork and chile juices. Depending on the time you go, there might be a long wait for pick up because it seems to be a popular spot. As soon as I bit into the burrito, the beans and cheese were bursting out, and I just thought that the pulled pork was so flavorful and marinated in the green chilies. I don't like chilies or spicy food, but after New Mexico, I have a newfound obsession with hatch green chilies, which partly stemmed from having this burrito. New Mexican burritos are so iconic and this is definitely a great place to try them out.

Inflation at its finest. These tacos used to be huge! Now there is about a spoonful of meat and a few pieces of garnish. Flavor is still there. But place is a little pricey. I don't know if they are worth the price.

Albuquerque is known for its food scene. Pericos is a fun visit, and part of the positive aspect of the food scene here. There are many smaller size, family, run, unpretentious restaurants with great food at great prices. I enjoy attending events at outpost performance center, and this restaurant is conveniently near. I stopped in last night for dinner. Friendly staff. Comfortable atmosphere. Seating inside is at most 12 people? I had the tamales special which included two tamales, rice, beans, and a salad. It was all delicious, and it is rare for me not to be able to finish some thing, but there was more food than I could eat! It made a nice take home box.

Hard undercooked potatoes and gross chicharrones

I got 3 burritos smaller than my hand for 29 dollars and they tasted bland and watery microwaved frozen junk. Both chicharron burritos had hard undercooked potatoes and not peeled correctly and the chicharron tasted so gross slimy and half hard disgusting I had to spit it out and throw them away. The bacon breakfast burrito was the same hard potatoes and bland frozen junk. For that expensive price I could have gotten so much better here in burque that was a disgrace to New Mexican food. I will not be going back again and I warn you not to also you will be upset. Look at me pics below and zoom in.

    Stuffed sopapilla

We only came here because Tenampa was closed. $20 for a stuffed sopapilla with tiny, tough, burnt chicharrones. Inedible, as the entire meal tasted burnt. Sopapilla was too big and thick; doughy and bready. Opposite of what it should be. Lots of filler, not enough substance. Serving portion of carne on other plate is a whisper of what it used to be. Trabajador special didn't even fill the to go container, and it's supposed to be a combo meal. I've given this place lots of second chances, but we're done now. Adios! There's no service or ambiance, (to go only) but you are still expected to tip.

$12.87 for greasy, bland tacos. Now smaller

The restaurant is now a quick service stand. No restrooms or seating. The food is bland and the portions are smaller. I ordered three tacos for $12.87, added salt and a lot of salsa just to give them flavor. It used to be delicious. Don't waist your time. Lots of other great places to eat in Albuquerque.

I stood on line to order for maybe 10 minutes or so. I had the Carne Adovada Burrito, one soft Beef Taco, and rice and beans. Everything was excellent and tasted delicious. The price was very reasonable. I wish we had a restaurant like this on Long Island.

Directly across the street from University of New Mexico's main entrance, this place is packed when school is in session. This place is huge, but not at first glance. Walk into the retro-looking, Western themed dining room, and you'll see a huge menu board above the order counter. There is are several freestyle soda machines in the middle of the room. There are little digital screens in the corner where you watch for your order number and a counter in the corner where you go pick up your food. It's not until you go into the next room that you discover there is another "next room," and then another. There is a lot of art on the walls, including several John Wayne pictures. The girl at the counter who took our order was an absolute ray of sunshine--so friendly and sweet. We ordered the green chili cheeseburger with onion rings and the daily special which is the "green pile-up" (beans, hash browns, scrambled egg, and green chili beef). The good came our talented quickly, and was quite yummy. Frontier is an Albuquerque classic. If it old? Yes, but it has a huge faithful following, not including the things of UNM students that pack this giant diner during the school year. It may not be a "must try" for some, but if you want Albuquerque nostalgia, this is your place. Btw--it's pretty darn cheap,!

We know good Mexican food, as we are from San Diego, and wanted to try the southwest fare. WHAT AN AMAZING CHOICE! The lovely hostess was charming, engaging and sweet (wish i had her name) and our waiter (Edgar) was authentic, personable and fun to chat with. We had been at a movie and had eaten a bit too much popcorn so we did not order a lot. The three of us shared the free blue corn (not fried) chips with three salsa samples. We then shared a salad and the amazingly good four taco sampler. Thank you Herencia (Enrique the owner, and staff) for this wonderful evening.

Server didn't check on us too often and let someone at the table run out of water for 5 minutes until we asked for more. I had the pork al pastor ($26). It was cooked well and seasoned really nicely. Lobster enchiladas were nice but unique just to be unique. I asked for recommendations and all of the options were the most expensive on the menu which was odd to me. If they have a cheaper lunch menu it might be worth trying, but I think the dinner isn't worth it for the price. Four entrees and a soda was $130 plus tip.

My parents lived in ABQ for years and always thought that the atmosphere was great, but the food was so-so. However, on this instance, we all thought the food was quite good. Flavorful carne adovada, although it was a bit tough. Red chile sauce was spicy but had great flavor. The green chile sauce was hot and tasty. Posole was also good. The gold margaritas were also good - to anyone complaining about the price - at $14.50, the price is very fair considering the cost of ingredients. If you want a cheap junk margarita that is more sugar than anything else, go somewhere else! Our gripe... The place is huge and has an abundance of great places to seat guests. We had a pretty large group - 7 people celebrating a family reunion of sorts. However, they sat us right next to the bussing station that had noisy carts, dishwashers, and other distractions. It was so loud, it was hard to hear the person across the table. There were at least 10 other tables that they could have seated us at! It seems to me that this area should be used only when the restaurant is completely full. This seems to be a poor management decision rather than the fault of the servers or hosts.
