I was greeted promptly and with a smile! I was glad I missed the lunch crowd because before I knew it my taco plate was ready. The food is always consistently delicious! The tacos have a great crunch just the way I like it and the salsa is spicy enough. While I was eating I noticed every customer that came in was greeted friendly by the young man behind the counter. The restaurant was clean and made for a nice experience considering it's fast food. I highly recommend them! I love grabbing their six-packs of tacos when I don't have time to eat. read more

It's hard to believe how difficult it has been to find good fast Mexican food in Albuquerque. In San Diego county we were spoiled by places like Rubios. Got a fish burrito and it was just okay. Chopped finely not authentic like Baja style. The sopapillas were really good. And I have found yes you can screw them up here. Will return just as my friend says, "do you see an ocean" ie avoid most fish! read more

I have gone here for 2+years. They have NEVER been rude and we get exceptional service. Their food is amazing and fresh. It is a very clean place. I have observed someone order their food and then say it was wrong. No argument there and they made re-made the request. I read a few negative reviews and strongly disagree. My nephew just had a birthday back in January, and pinning him down to deliver some birthday treats can be tricky. He's busy working, running to and fro with his girlfriend, chillin with his buddies, ya know, 20 year old stuff. But bring a young man some tacos, and you can usually corner him long enough to give him a birthday squeeze and send him on his way. Since I was still recovering from PCFS (Post Christmas Frolic Syndrome), my exhaustion to energy ratio noticeably marking heavy to the left, pumping out a tray of tacos is a bit ambitious for me at this point in the game. That's where Perico's came in... Why on God's green earth would you choose a national fast food chain drive thru (where the ingredients are questionable), when you can have a quality, freshly made to order taco(s) with salsa from Perico's for appx. the same price or pennies more? This trip I ordered a 6 pack of tacos to go, what a steal. You can switch up the layout...chicken, shredded beef, fish, papas con carne, or any combination thereof...oh my goodnessssssssss, soooo good. The staff here is awesome, and they really do make everything from scratch. My husband favors the chicharrone burrito, and have you seen the size of those sopapillas???? Colossal!!! Pericos has some of the best tacos in Albuquerque. Their prices are a bit high, but the tacos are worth it. My friend and I visited for a late lunch, I ordered a 6 pack of the shredded beef tacos, my friend ordered a 6 pack of the chicken tacos. Both orders come with salsa. After we ordered we waited in the restaurant for about 10-15 minutes. When our food came through we were very satisfied with the outcome. The meat in the tacos is very flavorful. The shells were nice and crispy. Overall some of the greatest tacos. The salsa is also a great addition of flavor. For a dozen tacos, it was about $32. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is looking for some good Mexican food! read more

I had a craving last night for chicharrones, well actually, I've been wanting some for a week now. I was searching for someplace near the house that sells a bean and chicarrone burrito and this place is closest. I ordered over the phone since it was about 30 minutes before closing and I wasn't familiar with this place. I got red chile, beans, chicarrones which is a fantastic combination. The burrito was a little smaller than I was expecting, but fairly priced. I could have easily eaten two of them. Food was quickly made, it was slightly cold when I got there less than 10 minutes later. Overall it was a decent burrito with a good ratio of beans to meat. At the end of my burrito there was an off taste, you know the one you get when you eat something like crackers that have gone stale, that was it. I'm not sure what happened to the tail end of the burrito or if the whole thing had that slightly off taste and I didn't notice until the end, but it was a sad ending to my happy find. I'll still go back, since I know the closeness of this restaurant now and probably try a few other things. read more

Had to fly down to Albuquerque for new employee requirements at UNMH and went to visit our new home in the Northwest. Realized I hadn't eaten since early AM and searched for a local place. Perico's came up and, since it was close by; I took the chance to get to know "local eats" near our new home. First impressions were not outstanding but, coming from Buffalo were the "dive-e-er"the better, I gave it a shot. Ordered Perico's combo and in short order I was out the door. I was amazed at the quantity of food I received for the price and, though I've had better while here, it fit the need. Chips and guacamole salad rounded out the combo and I was left full and happy that I gave it a chance. read more

I got the carne asada burrito (it's not on the menu board, but if you ask them they'll have it). It's really good (although I get it without beans, it comes with beans by default), and I do highly recommend it. The rice side was ok, not great but not bad. The dining room area is pretty small. While I ate in today, normally I recommend getting it to go (and I usually do get it to go). They are reasonably fast (given that they cook it to order and it's not pre-made). And the atmosphere there is nice. It's definitely more of an upscale burrito, in a more modest place. The prices for the food is a good balance. read more

My wife and I decided to try this place out. It wasn't bad. She thought the two chicken tacos were a bit greasy. My giant burrito was ok but had no wow factor. It was bland. The chips and salsa were ok, chips were served cold but the salsa had a nice kick. We probably won't go back. read more

this cant be pericos. this has to be another place. they dont use the same ingredients. the cheese is very different and nit nearly as good as the other pericos. the salsa isnt no where near the same. the tacos i got were chewy and not crispy as the other pericos do theirs. i think they just get their ingredients from the smiths. drive the e tras miles for the real pericos. staff however are very nice read more

This is my third visit! I love the chicharrones! A little pricey but delicious. Their huevos rancheros are palette pleasing! The chile is not too hot, great flavor, wonderful consistency, red and green! You can call ahead, is family friendly, and has something for everyone. The burrito menu is pretty extensive...twenty two choices! The chicharrone and tamale burritos are wonderful. I like the burritos smothered Xmas. Yeah super disappointed in my order today at Pericos. Ordered a 6 pack of shredded beef tacos and they gave me some tacos with ground beef and potatoes (not the same). For 14 bucks you should at least get the order right. The person answering the phone and taking the orders seemed a bit new bit new. Anyway if I do order from these guys again I will definitely be opening every burrito/taco to make sure they didn't screw up my order. read more

Love this place!!! You can see that the food is made from scratch because the stove is in the front with big pots of food cooking. I have been going to the Golf Course location for a couple of years. Great staff, Great Food, Clean place and Great Value. I have gone to other New Mexican restaurants when i want a margarita with my dinner but for the price and amount you get at Perico's it doesn't compare. I pay $10 for the Margarita and usually $18 for a dinner plate of enchiladas plus tax and tip for 2 people I will end up paying about $73-$75 bucks!!! at Perico's 2 enchilada plates will set me back about $23 with tax and tip!!! but no margarita lol really don't need the extra calories anyway;). read more

They charge for drink refills and they charge you to use a credit card. My son ordered the #19 Perico's build your own burrito but they charge you for everything that you put in it.
