This looks like absolute crap! Never again!

So I previously gave this place a 1-star review for a lost gift certificate that they would not honor. But since it's so close to my house I decided to give them a real shot at my nails. It's HORRIBLE!!! There is a check in discount on Yelp for this establishment for 10% off. They do NOT honor that. They said it was previous owners and it doesn't apply to them. Ok whatever. I got a gel manicure and pedicure anyway. The pedicure was so bad! I got the middle of the road pedi and I wish I would've just got the standard because the girl did nothing extra that I could tell. Very minimal massage, weak paint. It was pretty bad, but I got charged for the upgraded pedi. The gel manicure was even worse. My nails are lumpy, nothing looks even. I had her put a black dot at the base of my nails which are all different sizes. My cuticles look terrible, which is weird because they looked good before I went in! It looks terrible and it cost me $90. Apparently the black dots were an additional $8 too, which wasn't even explained. I gave them a second chance but wow is it bad. The place is in desperate need of a cleaning and upgrade too. Will not be back and I would suggest you find a different spot as well. I've tried twice so you don't have to.

This was my first or maybe second visit in to Perfect Nails. I came here with my other half, bestie, and niece with plans to just get a gel mani and ended up getting a pedicure and a full set. First, the salon was clean, bright, lively and very busy. We had called in advance to make an appointment and I'm glad we did. We were seated at the pedicure seats right away, turned on the massage chairs and immediately relaxed. My pedicure was perfect, with a wonderful foot/leg massage, and the technician was super sweet. I tried almond shaped nails for the first time and am super happy with how they turned out, I didn't want them too long and the length ended up being perfect for me. I also asked for a french tip in the same blue I did my toes in with a glitter kind of ombre. I showed my nail tech a picture before we started and explained to her what I wanted. Good communication is key to getting the nails you want, showing them the reference pictures BEFORE you start is super helpful so they understand what you are asking for. I love my services from Perfect Nails.

This was my first time visiting perfect nails. The nail techs were very nice and accommodating. I absolutely loved the work they did on me and my daughter. The technician was fast and very good at her job. I will continue to come here. Thank you Leslie and the younger girl who was so sweet. I definitely recommend this place.

Went here randomly as my normal place was closed. Ana was super friendly, and was able to accommodate to my needs. She payed attention to detail and took her time which I feel is rare at nail salons. Will be coming back :)!

I was quickly attended to which was nice as I was told they are usually very busy. My technician -Tran-was able to have a small conversation with me which was nice and she could respond in English to my personal requests regarding my pedicure. As I am new to the area I am still searching for "my" nail spot and this may be it. My pedi came out great , all my toe needs where met the color is new to me yet one I'll repeat. The salon was neat and clean , there was no music or TV playing but that's ok - quiet is good. I'll be back -

I appreciate they let me walk in on Mother's Day when they were probably busy. Pedicure was excellent but my gel manicure was terrible. She put way too many layers and I kept trying to tell her it was going to peel right off and she just kept saying it looks pretty.

These are supposed to be Pink and white?? Don't think so!

Walked in since I was next too UPS Store, thought I would give them a try. Pedicure was good a little fast. Did not massage legs for a the minutes they were supposed too. Pink and white nails, not too happy. The lady thought she would do my nails they way she thought they should be done. Pink and white to me is not like a French manicure. Pink and white should be ombre or the pink powder a little more Pink then what I got. Not that happy. Wont be coming back.

I do not even know where to start with this place. If I could leave negative stars i would. I went in on Friday October 21, 2022 with my daughter and asked if they could do two fills and they said yes. I asked about the wait and they said 5 min. They took my daughter within minutes. I sat there for about 15 min before someone started my nails. My daughter was done in about 30 min and her nails were crooked and her cuticles bleeding. The lady that did mine filed off my gel and got prepped to file my nails. Well the problem at this point was she did not take care of the acrylic that was lifting and was prepared to just file them. I am a licensed cosmologist and my mom has been a licensed nail tech my entire life (over 40 years) so I told her you need to remove the lifted stuff off then start the fill. So she did. I also had a broke nail that she had to fix. She put the tip on and then cut it really short but the rest of my nails were long. She need said is this to short and I said yes so she attempted to remove it but couldn't so just glued another tip on top of the other on. Then when she built the nail it looked like something my 9 year old put on. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt that she would shape it later. So fast forward and now she is at the finishing point and I had to ask her several times to shape the nail that she built. She got it looking better but no great and it was sticking up and lumpy and my other nails were very thick. At this point I am 1 1/2 hours into my fill. When she shaped my other nails one side was squared and the other side rounded. Normally after a fill and filing they ask you to go wash the dust off of your hands before applying the gel, she did not do that. Then the manager comes over and applies my gel because now it has been 2 hours. Thank goodness my oldest daughter was home because my kids were getting out of school. Well the gel was sloppy and not even close too my cuticle making it look like I needed a fill. At this point I just wanted to leave. I was charged $85 for mine and my daughters nails. Let's Faust forward to Sunday October 23, 2022. One of my nails was coming off. My daughters gel was coming off. I did not realize they were open on Sunday so I waited until Monday October 24, 2022 and called and spoke with the manager (they one who applied my gel). I told her i was not happy with my service and wanted my money back. She said I need to see your nails. So I pick up my daughter from school and go up there. She said oh I will fix for you and I told her no I just want my money back. She had about four other people come look at our nails and she just kept saying we will fix it. I kept insisting that I just wanted my money back. I was calm and trying to be quite because other customers were in there. She then started to get upset because I said I wanted my money back and loudly said I can not take the money back from the owners. I said this is part of having a business, sometimes you lose money. I told her that I was licensed and I would report the business to state board and her response was "go ahead" and then I said again I want my money back and if I have to I will call the police to get my money back and she said "go ahead" At this point another customer started yelling at me telling me that she is a paying customer and I was disrupting her service. I said well I am a paid customer too and not happy with my service. She then advised the manager to take her appointment that was waiting for her and that she did not need to talk to me. She then walks away and goes to the customer just leaving me standing there. I then went outside and call the Oceanside police. They were sending someone out but there was a long wait. About 10 min later they called and asked if I could explain what was going on so I did. He told me this was civil and there really wasn't anything they could do but would still come and I said no its ok because he gave me advice. His advice was to write this review and file a civil suit. I said ok. After I hung up I told the manager what was said and said that I would give her one last chance to give me my money back or I was going to sue them. The customer she left me to do said she is going to sue you and she still refused. Sooooo after all of this that is what I am going to do. Within four days our nails are falling off. Avoid this place at all cost!!!!!

I've been semi consistently getting dip powder on my nails for several years now and I've never received as bad of a manicure as I got here. They were rude and aggressive. When she removed the current polish using the power file, she went so hard my nail beds were burning and I kept telling her that but she would yank my hand back. Her dip application was sloppy and haphazard and then she used a file to get the product off my surrounding skin. Again I told her it hurt and she yanked my hand back. Eventually I was bleeding in more than one area. Now several days later 4 of my nails have broken off down below the free edge and the dip powder is lifting from the base on the other nails. It takes alot for me to leave a poor review but this was too horrible not to.

Leslie is the best! She does such good work, been going there for years and my nails never lift or have any problems and they are always done perfectly. Pedicures here are so nice too and all the girls here do a great job.

This is so close to home and they are always so welcoming. The owner- she never forgets a face. I think they are one of the best nails places here because they don't skimp on the massage. I think they do a good job and the prices are pretty on point with other salons in the area. Would recommend for any nail needs. Plus there's food and drink in the area nearby so you can grab something while you wait or for during.

The ladies are very lovely and kind! Stopped in real quick while in the area and they took me at the last minute as a and were not even annoyed! Lifesavers! They have great attention to detail and really care about their clients! I love my nails and the color I chose came out beautifully! Tina and her daughter are incredible! My sister got a cool design too and my pedicure was chrome. They can do almost anything you ask for and they are easy to work with when it comes to the little details. This place is such a hidden gem!

My fingernails were so ridged and not shaped right before having Leslie make them stronger and prettier.

Try to avoid this place. I've been getting my nails done for years, never had my acrylics look sooooooo nasty and messy. I showed Lisa a picture of how I wanted my nails done, she said she would charge me more because of the shape, I never heard that before. Not only did she over charged me but she completely ignored my request and on top of that but she cut the skin on almost every finger and did not let me turn on the massage chair. Connie is very sweet and did a good job on my pedicure but I would NEVER GO BACK!!!! read more

I moved from Orange County to Carlsbad about three years ago and have tried several nail salons in Oceanside and Carlsbad, but none of them impressed me and made me want to go back. I was hesitant to go to Perfect Nails when referred by a friend, but I'm so glad that I gave it a try! I stopped by yesterday during my lunch break, and they were able to take me right in without an appointment. Bella did my pedicure and Judy did my gel manicure. Bella made recommendations for the nail colors that I was considering, and I loved them both: a nude pink for my fingers and a bright orange for my toes. Both Bella and Judy were such sweet ladies who paid great attention to details. They were gentle with their work and I just absolutely appreciated the customer service they provided after so many negative experiences that I had elsewhere. I was told that they have only been under new management for just about a year, so if you're looking for a new nail salon, give them a try. read more

Although the people were nice and friendly, the experience was just disappointing. I've been here twice already, (actually gave this place a second chance to redeem themselves) the first time I took my mom to get her gel nails removed since she wasn't used to them and as the lady helping her was using the electronic nail file she looked away for a second and cut a bit of my moms thumb. My mom didn't mention it until recently when I went to get a refill and I also got a cut on my thumb by Connie, super sweet lady, but it was the first thing she did so adding the alcohol and acetone later hurt pretty bad. There was some type of glue left on my fingers that I had to peel off myself, a lot of bubbles within the nail polish. Even my pedicure has some cracks on the polish and I am just not interested in coming back ever again. read more

My sister and my mother have been coming here for years. Pedicures and manicures sometimes acrylic some times gel! I have seen some negative reviews and I have to disagree. This team of ladies are so nice and friendly . The prices are fair and the quality of work is top notch. I will continue to be a happy customer for the years to come! I brought my four year old here on Mon to get her nails painted during our Mommy/ daughter day out. The lady that painted her nails was very friendly, my daughter likes her a lot. She took her time and my daughters nails came out great. I was shocked when she rang me up and it was only $9! Will return! read more

Perfect Nails didn't blow me away; however, the nail technicians didn't disappoint me, either. I went as a walk-in for the first-time today and got my acrylics taken off, a new set put on, and also a pedicure. The technicians did a decent job. The pricing was about average, too; yet, I felt like the pricing didn't quite match up to their list of prices (i.e. I didn't realize there was an extra charge for removing old toenail polish in addition to the pedicure- which I thought was a bit weird). I think I'll return; the place is fine for the time being. However, if I find a better place with better pricing sometime in the near future, I probably won't continue going there. Overall: Perfect Nails is O.K., but there is probably a better nail salon out there. read more

I've come here a few times and normally it has been fine. I forgot to request Connie when I made my appointment and that may have been the problem. I called at 9am to try and make appointments for 4:30pm that day for my mom and I, they said no problem. We arrived at 4:25pm (yes, five minutes early) and all 3 staff were busy and didn't look like they'd be done anytime soon, which I could deal with. We ended up being taken at about 4:30pm, at this time they got us set up in the chairs and our feet in the water, didn't start the pedicure right at that time. I was getting a pedicure and manicure and my mom just a manicure. At about 4:50pm, two regulars came in and told them they'd be ready for them in 5 minutes, from that point on they completely rushed us. She was annoyed when I reminded her I also had booked a manicure. She then proceeded to completely rush that, make me reach over with the one arm rather than moving to the other side of the chair, I still have hang nails and scraggly cuticles because she rushed so much. They must have also knicked something on/in my mom's big toe because it is red, puffy and it hurts, like it is infected. With everything together I don't think either of us will be returning. read more

Worst experience I've ever had in my life. Not happy at all. The ladies seemed nice at first but talk about you right infront of you. There was a customer that brought her daughter , who I had to wait to be finished. Then wanted a flower after the lady had started on me. I had already waited 10-15 minutes, She left me and finished the little girls flowers; making me wait even longer. My nail person was sweet but she insulted me saying I needed a tan, and was social with everyone that walked by, delaying the pedi even that much more. I don't feel this place is all that clean and I truly will never come here again. The toe nail clippers and file she used on me, she also used on herself during my pedicure; and I don't recall her getting a new pair or cleaning them after the little girl before me. As I'm writing this... there is a girl next to me that I believe is deaf. It appeared she was signing to her friend, or maybe she just didn't want to yell across the room. One of the ladies handed her her phone laughing and saying to her "you can talk now". Making a joke of her situation. Having COVID finally being close to "over", it's so important to support businesses and each other; and get back to a new normal. But when you're treated like this.... Makes it hard. read more

I was a walk in for a pedicure and like a previous reviewer, I was lucky enough to get Connie. She is not pushy, very friendly and gives one heck of a foot massage. When you go here, I recommend you ask for Connie. She did a very good job and I will happily return to her. read more

Connie is always so kind and accommodating. She does exceptional work and is very detailed and strives for perfection. Everyone here is great. It is clean and friendly at Perfect Nails. Obviously some people have ridiculous expectations and write rude reviews. Don't believe them. I have been coming here for years. Connie did my manicure and pedicure on one of the most important days of my life, my wedding! They were picture perfect.The girls here make an effort to remember your name and treat you like a friend. Great work and wonderful pricing. Visit perfect nails. Mom needed a Mani-Pedi and believe it or not I'd never tried he one literally closest to my house. The staff fit us in rt away and were so genuinely warm and caring with her, attentive to detail, and helpful with moms limited mobility that that made ALL the difference. I usually only do my nails when there's a groupon I like but I think with the quality of work, atmosphere within the salon, and what look to be beautiful and top-of-the-line massage chairs I'm looking to make this my permanent nail salon of choice and can't wait to try hem out myself. Mom is STILL loving her nails and they still look brand new even after a couple days of wear (which says a lot for my not-always-coordinated-loves to wash/clean/garden-too-much-after-a-brand-new-manicure momma;). Great job ladies and thank you so much for the wonderful experience. Can't wait to see you again when I come in for my own! read more

Love this place! Came in at 7:20. (Later read they closed at 7). Lights were off but doors were open. I asked if they could take my daughter and I. The friendly lady Connie said, "of course!" I thought it'd be rushed, but she made time to get our massage chairs going, painted flowers on our toes, tended to my runners feet that needed extra care, etc. She was so sweet and detail oriented. She did an excellent job! The price was very affordable. I will be back for sure!! read more

They did a goid job on my 3 year olds nails, and they were only $5 so can't beat that, but my gel toes aren't very good. She didn't shape the nails they Aren't even or cut the same shape.. and weren't very cheap compared to the job they did... I won't be back read more

I received a gift certificate for here for mother's day a year in a half ago. The three separate times I was available within this year in a half to get my nails done they told me to come back another day. I have two small children and have a limited time out of the house to get things done when someone is watching them. It is bad customer service to send costumers away even with one other person inside the salon and even when I am willing to wait. read more

Leslie does such an amazing job on my acrylic nails! My nails last and never lift, I can go 3 weeks without a fill and no lifting, breaking or discoloration! She is phenomenal and so are the rest of the ladies there, they do great pedicures! So many colors to chose from! read more

When it comes to nail salons, they can be hit or miss, but at Perfect Nails I have found I walk away with "perfect nails" every time. I had had a long 10-hour work day on my feet and in light of Valentine's Day, wanted to get my nails done. My mom had recommended Leslie at Perfect Nails in Oceanside because she was extremely fast, efficient and funny and I found that to be true. I've now gone to this salon twice getting both a mani and pedi at the same time both times and they work so well together that I can literally sit there getting a much needed back massage in the chair as I look up at the beautiful portrait of Vietnam. It's such a relaxing experience there and today Leslie even took the time to give me a neck and shoulder massage because I had had such a long day. They are so great. Highly recommend Perfect Nails. Go have your own relaxing and happy experience like I do! read more

Just walked in here for a pedicure with my friend. We waited for a long time after being told it would be 5-10 minutes. As we were about to walk out they called us back. Connie was incredibly friendly and did a great job for my friend, however the time I was waiting in my chair before they started working on my feet was absurd. The price listed for a SPA pedicure is $16. They up sold us on having the sea salt scrub but nothing else. Each pedicure was $31 when we checked out. How a 1 minute sea salt scrub could be worth $15 I have no idea. Long story short we paid double what we thought we would be and I'm really upset about it. Don't go here. read more

This new perfect nails is AMAZING. All new tables and salon chairs. My girl Connie is so thorough and gentle, she's been doing nails for 17 years and working for Leslie, the owner here, for 10. There is a new owner named Leslie she is amazing. Everything in the salon is brand new and clean . Very personable . They remember your name. If your looking for a nail place don't waste your money going here I got the nail tech LISA, and honestly I'm regretting spending my 45$ my hard working money on the crap she did for me. Came in with powder dip and the first red flag I got was when she tried to remove it with an acrylic nail!! I said no i prefer soaking them, then she still insisted and did it anyway and I pulled my hand away and said NO THAT HURTS I'd rather soak it. So then she starts waking away and tells me to come so I can start my pedi while she's cleaning up from the person before while preparing mine GROSS CROSS CONTAMINATION hello.. so I already new this was ALL BAD so she legit does my pedi in about 7 mins and I was done totally rushed didn't take her time and it sucks becuz we come and pay money for this to enjoy relax and get pampered that wasn't the case so I wanted to run out of there right away my toes look half ass and now it's onto my nails I originally came in for powder dip which is quite expensive 35$ and up. I completely changed my mind becuz there's no way in hell im paying for a shitty half ass job which is what she would've done so I asked for just a French white tip mani. Pretty simple she try's to convince me to spend more I'm like nahhhh. So she does it super quick and I'll show you the outcome I want to cry becuz my nails were SO LONG before she cut them all down!!!! And not only that she used the drill on my nail beds !!!!!!! I was a walk in after mailing something at the UPS store next to Perfect nails. I said why not let me give this place a try?! No one was in there so there was no wait and I had the pleasure of having Kim she give me a new set w/gel she was very nice and pleasant and she spoke English the only thing is. I am a perfectionist and I did tell her please keep them short well there really Short not all the same length and I can see there are some nails that appear bumpy not a smooth even texture?! the color is a pretty pink there not perfect so I really liked her pleasant personality but maybe with more practice I might give her another chance in a year?! read more

The nail tech burned my nail with the drill and when I pulled my hand away she kept grabbing and saying let me see, let me see, until I finally told her that really hurt, hold on. They then transferred me to another nail tech who said it was my fault. read more

She said no, we'll do gel X fill it will be better. (She means faster and easier for her instead of doing a new set.) I said no, I want dip powder. Finally I convinced her to do what I wanted. As we proceeded to do my nails, I kept asking her to file them shorter and kept noticing that they were crooked. She would try to move onto the next step and I would ask her if she was done filing noticing that they were all crooked and uneven lengths and shapes, so I would tell her, she would try to fix them, but she just could not. They kept coming out crooked and different lengths. Meanwhile, during the whole service, the phone keeps ringing and she keeps going to the front to pick it up, her cell phone keeps ringing and she keeps picking it up, people keep leaving to check out, and she kept leaving in the middle of my service to go check them out. This happened around ten times. Made my service nearly 2 and a half hours for these nails. I go to pay, and when it comes time to tip, she reaches her neck over-the-counter to make sure that I press something so I felt pressured to leave her a tip that I did not want to give because it did not seem like she cared about my service at all. (I'm a server. I ALWAYS TIP. And this time I did not want to. That says a lot). I get in the car to take a final look at my nails and see that they're all crooked and choppy/flaky and that there's a black mark on my WHITE nail on my pinky. I honestly just started tearing up, I know it seems silly but $80 for these simple little nails and a terrible experience right after work, almost taking three hours? I wish I never came here and just waited a day to go to my usual salon! Nevertheless, I went home and filed them all myself, which removes the sealing of topcoat, so now I will have to go spend more money on new nails sooner than usual because these will not last long. Waste of money unfortunately...

My nails look flat and warped and not even. Maybe they are better with acrylic but I'm extremely dissatisfied with my gel nails. They're basically wasted money. So unfortunate. I don't have it on me to call and ask for my money back. They also already look like I need a fill. I shortened them more so they'd look a little better but I'm embarassed. I dont get my nails done often but needed to for work and now have to get them redone somewhere. SMH. Maybe the photos don't reflect but they look worse in person.

I recently visited Perfect Nails for a gel mani-pedi session with my partner. The salon had a decent ambiance, and the staff members were friendly during our visit. My partner went for the Ocean Pedi, which he found relaxing and worth the $40 price. I opted for the Classic Pedi, which was stated to cost $27. However, I wasn't fully aware that adding gel to the Classic Pedi would cost over $20 extra, making the final price higher than I expected. The gel mani I got was decently done, and the price was $32, which seemed reasonable for the service provided. When it came time to pay, the total came out to be $127,l While the overall experience was good, I feel that the pricing could have been more transparent, and the additional charges for the gel service could have been clearer beforehand. Ill have to visit again though, I love the sea-shell nail colors they offer. read more
