Upsell...upsell...upsell. Wanted a good mani pedi for my daughter and I. A treat! We thought. Pressure to buy more, and inconsistent service standards. I got full service with a wonderful outcome, my daughter got minimal effort put in by her pedicurist so her experience was a mediocre outcome. They kept letting walk-ins come in and were unable to do my daughters pedicure because they "had a miscommunication" about her still wanting one. And no one was available to take care of her because they had walk-ins that they started and wouldn't do her manicure first even though we had reserved the time for 2 mani pedis. So I previously gave this place a 1-star review for a lost gift certificate that they would not honor. But since it's so close to my house I decided to give them a real shot at my nails. It's HORRIBLE!!! There is a check in discount on Yelp for this establishment for 10% off. They do NOT honor that. They said it was previous owners and it doesn't apply to them. Ok whatever. I got a gel manicure and pedicure anyway. The pedicure was so bad! I got the middle of the road pedi and I wish I would've just got the standard because the girl did nothing extra that I could tell. Very minimal massage, weak paint. It was pretty bad, but I got charged for the upgraded pedi. The gel manicure was even worse. My nails are lumpy, nothing looks even. I had her put a black dot at the base of my nails which are all different sizes. My cuticles look terrible, which is weird because they looked good before I went in! It looks terrible and it cost me $90. Apparently the black dots were an additional $8 too, which wasn't even explained. I gave them a second chance but wow is it bad. The place is in desperate need of a cleaning and upgrade too. Will not be back and I would suggest you find a different spot as well. I've tried twice so you don't have to. read more

This was my first or maybe second visit in to Perfect Nails. I came here with my other half, bestie, and niece with plans to just get a gel mani and ended up getting a pedicure and a full set. First, the salon was clean, bright, lively and very busy. We had called in advance to make an appointment and I'm glad we did. We were seated at the pedicure seats right away, turned on the massage chairs and immediately relaxed. My pedicure was perfect, with a wonderful foot/leg massage, and the technician was super sweet. I tried almond shaped nails for the first time and am super happy with how they turned out, I didn't want them too long and the length ended up being perfect for me. I also asked for a french tip in the same blue I did my toes in with a glitter kind of ombre. I showed my nail tech a picture before we started and explained to her what I wanted. Good communication is key to getting the nails you want, showing them the reference pictures BEFORE you start is super helpful so they understand what you are asking for. I do not even know where to start with this place. If I could leave negative stars i would. I went in on Friday October 21, 2022 with my daughter and asked if they could do two fills and they said yes. I asked about the wait and they said 5 min. They took my daughter within minutes. I sat there for about 15 min before someone started my nails. My daughter was done in about 30 min and her nails were crooked and her cuticles bleeding. The lady that did mine filed off my gel and got prepped to file my nails. Well the problem at this point was she did not take care of the acrylic that was lifting and was prepared to just file them. I am a licensed cosmologist and my mom has been a licensed nail tech my entire life (over 40 years) so I told her you need to remove the lifted stuff off then start the fill. So she did. I also had a broke nail that she had to fix. She put the tip on and then cut it really short but the rest of my nails were long. She need said is this to short and I said yes so she attempted to remove it but couldn't so just glued another tip on top of the other on. Then when she built the nail it looked like something my 9 year old put on. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt that she would shape it later. So fast forward and now she is at the finishing point and I had to ask her several times to shape the nail that she built. She got it looking better but no great and it was sticking up and lumpy and my other nails were very thick. At this point I am 1 1/2 hours into my fill. When she shaped my other nails one side was squared and the other side rounded. Normally after a fill and filing they ask you to go wash the dust off of your hands before applying the gel, she did not do that. Then the manager comes over and applies my gel because now it has been 2 hours. Thank goodness my oldest daughter was home because my kids were getting out of school. Well the gel was sloppy and not even close too my cuticle making it look like I needed a fill. At this point I just wanted to leave. I was charged $85 for mine and my daughters nails. Let's Faust forward to Sunday October 23, 2022. One of my nails was coming off. My daughters gel was coming off. I did not realize they were open on Sunday so I waited until Monday October 24, 2022 and called and spoke with the manager (they one who applied my gel). I told her i was not happy with my service and wanted my money back. She said I need to see your nails. So I pick up my daughter from school and go up there. She said oh I will fix for you and I told her no I just want my money back. She had about four other people come look at our nails and she just kept saying we will fix it. I kept insisting that I just wanted my money back. I was calm and trying to be quite because other customers were in there. She then started to get upset because I said I wanted my money back and loudly said I can not take the money back from the owners. I said this is part of having a business, sometimes you lose money. I told her that I was licensed and I would report the business to state board and her response was "go ahead" and then I said again I want my money back and if I have to I will call the police to get my money back and she said "go ahead" At this point another customer started yelling at me telling me that she is a paying customer and I was disrupting her service. I said well I am a paid customer too and not happy with my service. She then advised the manager to take her appointment that was waiting for her and that she did not need to talk to me. She then walks away and goes to the customer just leaving me standing there. I then went outside and call the Oceanside police. They were sending someone out but there was a long wait. About 10 min later they called and asked if I could explain what was going on so I did. He told me this was civil and there really wasn't anything they could do but would still come and I said no its ok because he gave me advice. His advice was to write this review and file a civil suit. I said ok. After I hung up I told the manager what was said and said that I would give her one last chance to give me my money back or I was going to sue them. The customer she left me to do said she is going to sue you and she still refused. Sooooo after all of this that is what I am going to do. Within four days our nails are falling off. Avoid this place at all cost!!!!! read more

I've been semi consistently getting dip powder on my nails for several years now and I've never received as bad of a manicure as I got here. They were rude and aggressive. When she removed the current polish using the power file, she went so hard my nail beds were burning and I kept telling her that but she would yank my hand back. Her dip application was sloppy and haphazard and then she used a file to get the product off my surrounding skin. Again I told her it hurt and she yanked my hand back. Eventually I was bleeding in more than one area. Now several days later 4 of my nails have broken off down below the free edge and the dip powder is lifting from the base on the other nails. It takes alot for me to leave a poor review but this was too horrible not to. read more

I should have listened to the reviews on here. I have never been to this salon except this one time. I came in because all other places I tried were too busy to take a walk in. It was so hot and humid inside there. It's like I think you can turn on the ac or some fans for your customers in late July, unless they are trying to come to a sauna. I came in for a dip powder set of nails as my previous ones had grown out. First of all, they talked me into a pedi in addition to manicure because they told me they can do them at the same time. They did not do that. Rather, she put the acetone foils on my nails and left them on for the duration of my whole pedicure. It started burning my skin and turning it white, to a point where I literally just started to take them off because it was hurting me. I don't know the protocol with re doing dips because my last time was my first dip set. She took off my tips, which I didn't want, but again I don't know if they have to do that when re doing dip powders. When she was doing my nails she was literally drilling my skin off with the little drill, it was hurting so bad i kept pulling my hands away and she still kept doing it that hard. A few of my fingers were actually bleeding. She literally took several layers of skin off around some of my nails. It was ridiculous. She used the uv light lamp to dry them each layer, which I am pretty sure you don't do for dips; at least the first time I got them the other salon did not use that. I chose a medium pink color, and it looked pretty good on day one. By day two the color came off except on the ends of my nails. And by day three now my nails are practically all white. See pictures posted and labeled with day one two and three. The finish/top coat on them is still smooth and looks right, so I have no idea how the color could actually come off underneath it. I have a feeling the whole dip cost is just going to gradually come off over the next few days, as each morning is a surprise with how different they look from the day before. The two stars is because the lady that did my pedicure was so sweet and I do like the way she did my toes. Totally different lady than the two they did my hands. I will not be coming back here, and I don't suggest getting powder dip nails here unless you want clear white and bleeding fingers. read more

Due to family responsibilities, I have not been able to come to Perfect Nails for over 2 years. I had just started going there back then but had only been able to go once or twice. I was introduced to come here because all of the ladies in my neighborhood go to this salon. I can tell why they do!! I was in desperate, I mean "desperate" need of a pedicure but ended up going out with a pedicure and a manicure because of the loving treatment given to me by Leslie and Connie. Wow, Leslie greeted me at the door when I came in calling me by name. I was astounded she would remember me after all that time. She asked me what services I wanted and when I said just a pedicure because my finger nails are all ridged and ugly, she offered to help me in making them look better. I wish I had taken a before and after photograph because everything turned out amazing. Leslie quickly and efficiently made my fingernails looks so pretty. Connie took care of my pedicure which was perfect. Everything! . Connie is so kind and attentive and does a fabulous job in each step of pedicure. She cleaned, shaped my toenails, made my heels so smooth, has a great touch of decorating the painted toe nail with pretty flowers, plus a much needed massage of my feet and hands. It almost put me to sleep it felt so good. I want to say that Perfect Nails is named Perfectly!! I couldn't have asked for any better service than I got. I walked out feeling like a much different woman than when I walked in. Just to acknowledge that I felt safe with the Covid guidelines in this shop. So I looked this place up on Yelp and the reviews and pictures seem kinda poor but I saw a sign hanging saying "New Management" so I walked in and asked a few questions and decided to give it a try... The staff was absolutely hospitable. I've never met such a nice group of women at a nail salon. Thier prices are reasonable and they dont just quickly clip, scrub, rub and send you out the door, I haven't had such a thorough pedicure in so long. My feet were soaked, scrubbed, toenails cleaned, clipped, sugar scrubbed, rubbed and polished to perfection. The BIG WIN was the fact that they use ALL NEW PEDICURE TOOLS, from files to buffers to clippers and liners in thier foot spas. A lot of places I've checked out in Oceanside do not keep to those CA state standards, which is unsanitary and gross. So I ended up looking crazy after with huge white tips and clear color on my natural color, it did not look right and is definitely NOT what I asked for. First time going there NEVER going back. I WALKED OUT! Went to get a pedicure and the first red flag should've been her not wearing gloves and not seeing any sterilized equipment. Im assuming she's new and was taught by another employee because she did not do a good job. When cutting the nail she cut it way too short and cutting the cuticle she would cut too much and PULL DOWN THE SKIN! Which you've never supposed to do!!! She did it once and I let it slide, I kept moving when she would hurt me and she just kept getting irritated. The 3rd time was charm honey. I told her to stop half way between the pedicure and I paid and left. This was one of the worst nail salons I've ever been to. Usually I go here to get a pedicure, never my nails because I go somewhere else. Anyways I went in for JUST a pedicure and they kept complementing my nails and asked to do them and I had already told them no because I had an appointment with someone else.
