Let me start out by saying I ended up paying $88 for a mani pedi w/ gel polish on my fingernails. Maybe that's not a lot to some people but it's pretty high IMHO. I feel like I had the word sucker tattooed on my forehead when I walked in because there was a lot of upselling. I declined all the extras but one. I thought I would try the paraffin treatment on my tired, calloused tootsies. I have to say, I didn't notice a difference afterwards. At. All. And since I thought their sign said $47 mani pedi, I have no clue how much they charged me for that damn wax. I should've asked for a detailed receipt but since the mani pedi took more than 2 hours, I was already running late to pick up my kids from school so I had to skedaddle. Sigh. Next time (if there is one) I'll ask for prices up front before I agree to anything. Lesson learned. read more

Really liked the attention to detail on the cuticle removal. I had not had a mani pedi for almost 2 months and was in need of getting that cleaned up. This was my first visit to this salon, I would say making an appointment is recommended as they keep pretty busy and I did not see any walkin customers while I was there. I would definitely come back again, wspeci6since it's right next to the yoga studio that I go to regularly. read more

Okay, I changed my rating. Never going to Perfect Nails again! I paid cash so I probably can't get my money back. They gave me no receipt. I didn't mind not getting a receipt, but had no idea THIS would happen! I went in at 2pm January 3rd 2019, they finished at 3:15pm and now it is 7:23pm (4hours later) and my toenails are still NOT DRY!! The manicurist gobbed on nail polish so thick. She did ONE COAT super duper thick then a top coat. I bet it won't dry even by tomorrow. If that is the case, I will go in there to show them. I have never seen nail polish go on so thick so I was not sure what would happen and I realized at 7:23 that my big toe had nail polish gouging off of it. So I videoed it and tested my other toenails and was still wet as well. read more

The staff is really nice. But the three stars are because I picked a color, but when she started painting my nails, it wasn't the same color at all. They looked in their stock and came up with three different options; none of them looked like the light grey I'd chosen (they all looked pink). Finally, I gave up and asked for black. Ended up with a dark grey. Not what I asked for, but it's alright. After more than hour and a half (between two people), I left with nail polish on my fingers around my nails that I hope I can get rid off in the ocean. Oh well... could have been worse. They gave me a nice massage on my legs and forearms. That was very nice! read more

They've been around for ten years and this is the first time I came. I guess because I haven't heard people rave about here. The floors and chairs seem clean. My appointment time was at 10, but I had to wait till almost 10:25. My pedicuist did try to make conversation and small talk with me; I think they are trying to minimize conversation amongst themselves, but that's still going on. Skill wise, she was good; I wanted to be wowed by the foot massage, but I wasn't. It was adequate. I may decide to come again. But I dislike being told to only leave cash for tip. read more

Weak massage. The staff all spoke to each other in their language and not talking with customers. Looked clean. 2 other customers and then 3 more came in so maybe they do a good job. My experience wasn't great. read more

$20 for gel nails? Count me in! The staff members were friendly...and very accommodating of my weird requests. Although they speak Vietnamese in front of you, which makes you feel a bit awkward since you have no idea what they are speaking... I still had fun. C'mon what nail place doesn't do this. LoL. Happened to drop in after lunch to treat myself to a Mani-Pedicure at this PERFECT NAILS. It's anything but PERFECT and the worst I've ever had. I got nipped, which sometimes will happen - so no big deal. The pedicure was rough, the paint was applied so thick that it peeled of the following day, plus she painted the cuticles and part of the skin as well. Then came the french manicure done by someone else. What a cluster mess.....the white (french) part was applied so thick to almost half of the nail and it too peeled off the following day. I just wonder if these girls are really 'Licensed' in Hawaii...or if they really have received any training. It's all about "You Pik Cula" give me $$'s. The name of the salon should be changed to: I wasted over $50.00. IMPERFECT NAILS. read more

Don't waste your time by going here. I wanted to like it since it's close to my house, but after being there for over 2 hours for an acrylic fill, I left with a square shape when I asked for almond and a terrible polish job. Didn't even bother having it fixed bc I was ready to get the hell out of there. read more

Perfect stars for Perfect Nails. It is fun for Aina Haina to have its own nail salon. The ladies are always accommodating, even squeezing me in on a Saturday and making my birthday a little brighter. The little massages are great, and they always get my nails looking sophisticated after I butcher them with my nail clippers at home. I like the selection of colors and always get compliments for my simple mani/pedi combos. read more

You'd think when a nail technician takes her time with your mani and pedi, it would mean quality work right? SO WRONG. It took me 2 hours to finish my mani (gel) and pedi (regular). Selected light pink for my gel manicure, but when it was dry, it looked yellowish with a hint of pink. By the time I got home, I could barely see any pink in my manicure. But it's not like the color mattered all that much when the gel started peeling off the next day. By day 5, my gel manicure has chipped on every finger. Now 1.5 weeks later, I only have a little gel remain on the thumbs. And no, I didn't peel off the gel. It actually peels, breaks and comes off on its own. The one star is for the pedicure. It's lasted pretty well and stays pretty shiny. read more

A decent salon. Yes, there is a lady that will paint gunks of polish on your nails it never dries, but others won't. I have 3 stars because most don't massage. Rather they rub and just doesn't do it for me. So I'm trying another place. Decent price though for basic mani/pedi. read more

This place is amazing! My faves are Nina and Kelly but I've also been blessed with Laura and Lien. If the massage feels too hard as another post mentioned...then TELL them. My muscles are not used to deep massage so I've mentioned it and they apologize because they want me to have a great experience. Communication is key...to write a negative review without communicating your issues as they are happening is not helpful nor fair. They actually care about their customers and want to meet our needs. They ask about my family, we laugh, and I've witnessed so many customers feeling so happy and cared for by all of these kind and competent ladies. Nina also does my eyebrows and upper lip and she is gifted! Thank you, Perfect Nails, for your kindness, care, and making me feel pretty! Every.Single.Time. read more

It's been more than a year since I had a pedicure, so my feet were in terrible shape. In fact, I was in some pain, and knew that I had to get a treatment. My friend Shawn N. reviewed it today and that inspired me to go. I got there at 3:45 today as a walk in and they told me to come back at 5pm so I went to Macy's at Kahala Mall and helped them unload some footwear for a steal. Oh. Yeah. I returned, picked out a blue metallic polish and was swept into a massage chair. Do these chairs require a permit? They rub and prod and push at you in all the right ways. Even in the butt. Perfect for the single, can't-get-laid gal. Hah. I should save this for my blog.Whoa. The Cadillac of massage chairs and it's all, ahem, legal. Laura introduced herself. The gals there are Vietnamese and of course discussed things among themselves. It's to be expected. You won't know what they're saying so you might as well not worry about it. They are tender, they dig at your cuticles as though you were a baby. I played Words With Friends and I only flinched once. Like I said, my feet were in horrific shape. When I passed the Opi Distracting Denim polish to Laura she said it was too light. So we picked out a rich plum for my toes. They look edible. Honest. You will see my toes and you will want to nibble on them. But I was not to be redirected. I had already decided I wanted something earthy and green on my fingers. I don't know. I am one of those people who has to do something unexpected, something different. When you think about it, is my tendency to be unpredictable, predictable? I chose Electric Eel, again by Opi (the ultimate in nail flavors!). Depending on how the light hits it, my nails can look green or gold. It's gorgeous. I hope it lasts. While my nails were drying in the infrared light hand housing, Laura took a call and said last appointment was at 6:15. They are open until 7p.m. Monday thru Saturday. The mani-pedi combo was $32, $33.50 with tax, and I tipped her $10. Why? Because getting a mani-pedi for $44.00 is a bargain, especially if it lasts. Will it? I'll let you know. I think I'll put this review in my blog! Love, me. read more

This is the worst mani-ped I have ever had. The people were rude and the nail technician wasn't very skilled. My nail Polish was chipped by the end of the first day! I had to go somewhere else to have it redone. A real waste of time and money. read more

My new nail place! #1 I love the location! You will never have trouble finding parking. #2 They often can fit you in on the day of. #3 They do a great job on toes (I've only had pedicures here). #4Probably the best massage chair I've ever experienced. Just be careful! Sometimes it massages your butt in just the wrong... or right place... depending on what you like. For me it was the wrong place and I was seriously disturbed. You've been warned! #5 They have a bunch of chairs in a row so you can bring all your friends along! Girls day out! There are specials for mani pedi's. Although I've only done pedicures here, I would recommend doing both because the price is a steal. I often don't have time for both. read more

I decided to try Perfect Nails out after reading all over terrible reviews about all three nail salons in Hawaii Kai, and seeing that this one scored well! Firstly, Perfect Nails' location is... well... perfect! It's right in Aina Haina, tucked away in a small courtyard behind the Post Office. It makes the location quiet and peaceful because there's not a ton of foot traffic and you can't hear the highway with cars whizzing by. It's close to where I live in Hawaii Kai, which is perfect, so I don't have to go all the way into town or all the way to Kahala if I need a nail fix. The place is clean, well, lit and has a good selection of polishes by OPI to choose from. The chairs for pedicures also look pretty comfy--there were two women in chairs when I arrived, and they looked like they were in the lap of luxury! I got a late appointment, brought in my own color and sat down with the girl who greeted me at the front desk. She was nice, but unfortunately, there was a huge language barrier between the two of us, so we weren't able to chat much. I brought in a dark navy blue color by OPI to do a french tip on my short nails, and I requested a nude base coat. She let me know up front that it was $6 extra for "Fancy," and I appreciated that she gave me the pricing disclaimer right away. The manicure was pretty standard. I felt like she might have felt a bit rushed on the color base coat and on the top coat, because I walked out of there and my nails weren't coated all over evenly. The sides of some of my nails showed where the top coat didn't coat my nail and you could see the uneven nude base coat underneath. All in all, not a bad manicure, but not a great one. I had to go home and re-do the top coat with a polish I have at home. Unfortunately, the manicure didn't last more than 3 days, and began chipping like crazy by Sunday afternoon (I got my nails done on a Thursday). The base manicure is $15, and the "fancy" cost $6 extra, but when she rang me up, the total was $22 (Probably tax added). I made sure I gave her a pretty generous tip. Hey, it was the end of the day, they were going to close in 30 minutes, by the time I was done, and well, it's not worth it to be a crappy customer and spread negative energy at the end of a long day. I'm probably going to go back and give them another shot. As I said, the reviews are pretty glowing overall, so I'm willing to give them another chance or three! Other pros: The place is close to my house! It's quiet, clean and peaceful. There's always ample parking, too! The different staff are all super courteous as well. Even if they don't try to make lots of chit chat with you, they will be polite and gentle with you. Best of all, their prices are pretty reasonable. For a nail salon in Hawaii, they're almost downright cheap! $15 for a manicure, $32 for mani/pedi and $15 extra for gel polish. As for my singular experience: I might also try to go in on a weekend and earlier in the day. I might've just come in on a bad day for my manicurist... Like I said, I'm going to give them another shot when I need a day of pampering. read more

I used to come here because it's convenient. Don't expect a great foot massage or dazzling trendy nail art here. These ladies do the basics. They're very cordial and sweet. I'm pretty plain. I'll either do a basic mani-pedi or solid gel set, which never lasts more than two weeks. The last couple times I've been here, one of the technicians cut me. The first time I figured might have been a mistake and she was very apologetic. She instantly sprayed some alcohol on top of the wound and I tried to suppress my disappointment with that and told her she should know when to stop as the skin gets super thin. It was a painful experience. read more

I've been coming here for years. The technicians are very nice, and they are great at their job.

What a great place! Came here with my girl friend on a whim and I got a spa pedicure. The lady who did mine was very nice and had nice pressure to the massage. I didn't do anything fancy, just a basic pink color on my toes. The polish came out smooth and she even touched it up with a small brush which was very much appreciated! I will definitely come back here to get gel and designs! read more

Perfect Nails - Pink nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Heard so much good things about this place but I was left disappointed. I came in for a set of acrylics and it took forever, over 2 hours. I get acrylics regularly and a full set usually takes an hour. If it's taking that long they should be flawless, but they definitely aren't. The acrylic is laid super uneven so some nails are much thicker than others. The nail lengths are uneven too. Also, she cut the skin around my nails so much. I have little cuts on every finger and it burns. The nail polish is messy as well. Maybe I just got a not so experienced nail tech but seriously, the whole experience sucked and was painful and the outcome is pretty bad too. This photo is 4 days after I got them done. read more

I came in today to get my acrylic nails removed. I was short on time so I decided to give this place another shot due to them doing a poor removal last time and not getting the entire acrylic nail off completely. They open at 9:00 and I arrived at 9:40 to see only one customer getting a manicure. The other lady sitting down asked me if I wanted a manicure or pedicure to which I replied that I wanted to take my acrylic nails off. She replied that the lady (doing the other customers nails) was busy and if I was able to come back at 3 o'clock. There were three other workers available sitting down and playing on their phones. Not sure if the other three were only trained to do pedicures only but I was very disappointed with their service and definitely won't be going back to this place! read more

While I had a pleasant experience in the salon whilst getting a manicure with gel polish, the end results were lacking. $32 for a gel manicure and by the next day two of my nails were already starting to peel up at the sides. And by the 4th day two nails already peeled completely off. 5th day almost all of them had peeled away. I get gel because it LASTS. I won't be spending $30 again on a gel mani that lasts 3 days. Pissed. I've had pedicures at this place in the past and it's been great, so maybe I'll stick to those if I ever go to this place again. Though to be honest, why would I? read more

I really wanted to like this place, but I wasn't happy overall. I called earlier in the day to make sure I could have a seat for manicure/pedicure. I walked in early, and was taken immediately. Laura handed me a stack of magazines, and started filling the foot tub. She took off the old polish and set to work. I have ticklish feet and wanted to pull away from the rasp. I also got the hardest and most painful leg massage ever. Fortunately, the polish and flower design look great. Next, we were off to the manicure. I chose a French manicure (because they tend to grow out better). She took off the old polish, and started trimming my cuticles. She trimmed so far that it was painful, and when she went back over with nail polish remover it stung badly. She applied the white tip paint, and shaped it. She applied one coat of top coat, and told me to put it by the fan. Then she put another coat, put me in the UV dryer, and walked away. Apparently, you're supposed to sit through three cycles--but instead of telling me that she put me there, turned on the machine, and walked away to go eat lunch. Another lady who worked there had to tell me it was three cycles. I checked my manicure and there were tiny bubbles all through it. It looks pockmarked, and I can't look closely or else I get upset with the result. I'm giving the salon two stars because the pedicure looks nice from afar. I don't think I'll be going back, and I'm going on the search for a new place. EDIT: I noticed that, after only 8 hours, the French manicure is already cracking with dark lines in the tips. Maybe I'm naive, but I figured that something that time-consuming to get would last longer. I'm taking back a star for this. read more

The place is ok. It's convenient and reasonable. It's also clean but you can't understand a word they say except for Kelly. She's good but my daughter who spent $46 + on her manicure (gel flashing) was extremely disappointed. Which is the reason for the poor rating. Her gels came off in less than two weeks. The first week one finger the entire nail layer came off in one piece. They fixed re-did it. Then the next week while at school the re-done nail plus 4 more came off entirely. She was so upset. We went back and had them remove it all. No charge but she's told she has bad feng shui? Come on. However, my nails are fine. Lasted 5 weeks. I'm happy but disappointed for my daughter who spent her own money for something that she was told would last at least 4 weeks. With that said. Am looking for another place. Customer service ok. Kelly yes the others, they act bored, kind of robotish. read more

I've been going to Perfect Nails in Aina Haina regularly for five years. The owner, Laura, and her friendly staff are very professional. I've been 100% satisfied with every service. They do manicures, pedicures, fills (acrylic, gel) and they have a comfortable, completely private room for facial and body waxing. They're experts at gel nails of all types - clear, glittery, solid color, whatever you can imagine, they have it. The shop is extremely clean! I am completely comfortable using their pedicure 'baths' (I've walked out of some nail salons whose pedi baths looked questionable!) - and at the same time, you can enjoy a great back massage in their comfortable robo-chairs. They can trick out your toes with cute hand-painted flowers or rhinestones ~ so chic. I've also noticed that they are getting busier, so while you may still walk-in, an appointment is a good idea, or at least call ahead, especially if you need multiple services (mani/pedi, or fill and pedi) or have multiple people. Laura, Kelly, and the team have been in business in the same shopping center for MANY years. Do not be "put off" because English is not their first language - because their work is first class and their prices are very fair. Perfect Nails is located mauka of the Aina Haina post office, in the little 'strip' with the barber shop, pilates and new veterinarian. One small detail - they have gift certificates! read more

I had been to this place faithfully for 5 months and I used to go every 3 wks. Everytime I got the same greeting" sit down and pick a color". There was no welcome at all. Let me tell all of you the secret. Make an appointment with Laura. She is amazing. I showed up one day and Laura was busy and I got another lady and trust me I would never go back if that were who I saw the first time. I have to say that there seems to be other great ladies there and if you have a name of someone who is great please post her name for all of us..Now don't be selfish..with Laura you only need to go there every 3 weeks. read more

RUDE. You ask a question and they speak to each other in Vietnamese and point to you. If you leave a 15% tip they will not want to see you again and say they are busy. They want the wealthy East Oahu people who tip 25% and more. Very transparent as they smile at your but talk to each other in Vietnamese. Lived in Vietnam and they did not know that I know the language. They spoke about me talking to each other about how firm my breast were and if they were real or not. Also spoke about my Asian eyes being done with plastic surgery to look more westernized. I told them that I knew what they were talking about and they all shut up instantaneously. Horrible, rude, ignorant. They like their tips in cash not to pay taxes. read more

Got a Mani-Pedi today with the shellac treatment at Perfect Nails in Aina Haina Shopping Center. I would recommend this salon. Very clean and great prices. The combo is $32 and the shellac was an additional $20. Great attention to detail too. Two of the nails on my right hand weren't perfect so the manicurist (Lena) re-did it! The shellac is supposed to last about 3 weeks. I think I have a new favorite nail salon! read more

I saw all the great yelp reviews so I wanted to check this place out. But boy... perhaps my standards are higher but this place was not anywhere near as fabulous as everyone is raving about. I agree, it is clean because it is new, so it's a nice atmosphere, massage chairs are good. The prices are reasonable... $22 for a pedicure so that's pretty good. But that's where the good ends. As far as the pedicure itself, I was somewhat disappointed. The lady totally snipped my skin and so my toe was gushing blood, they didn't use new razors for the callus scraping, she didn't use a base coat before my polish - only some sort of primer thing which I believe is normally only used for artificial nails. And as far as the paint job, there was nail polish left on my skin. And then I ask for a design on my toe... only one lady does designs, she charges $7 bucks, and it wasn't very good. Just a very basic flower.... I could've done it myself. They were nice, it's not like they went out of their way or anything. Personally, cheap is great, but at this place, you kind of get what you pay for. read more
