Pad See-Ew and Green Curry
Teresa H.

My friend and I got the Gyoza appetizer, Pad see ew, and green curry. Speedy service and tasty food. The place looked like it could've used a good mopping of the floor though.

Nice little shop, friendly staff, started with crab rangoons, also pad ew, sesame chicken and Penang curry. All were tasty, the curry was top notch. Not far from my house, first time here. Will return for sure!

I visited Pen Thai for lunch back in August. The service was good. I got a Thai iced tea and yellow curry at the 4 spice level. The Thai tea was delicious. It was strong and had enough milk. The yellow curry was delicious. I was happy with the spiciness. The only critique I have about the curry was that there wasn't enough potato in it. Overall, I liked this restaurant and I would not hesitate to visit again.

Really great food! We came in at around 6pm on a Thursday. There was plenty of room, but it certainly wasn't empty. The service was a little bit slow, but the flavor and variety of the meal options made up for that! We got Veggie Soup, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Pad Kee Mao. Flavors were balanced, spice levels were high (in a good way), and portion sizes were nice... not overwhelming, but definitely sufficient! All accounted for, we would definitely come again. Looking forward to trying their pad Thai and curries!

Smallest portion size I've ever received. $36 for two entrees and an appetizer. Quite disappointed with the quality and quantity. A refund was offered but we drove all the way home and had no other dinner options.

This is another restaurants duck soup.

We have been patrons for years. Eating in has been fine but delivered food is mediocre. Main course of Duck Curry last night had very few small chewy pieces of duck. I've had this dish at other Thai with much more and tender pieces of duck but you won't find that here. I would choose some other protein with this spicy red curry, not the skimpy duck version. Shrimp app was OK. Satay chicken a bit tough also.

Roach in orange chicken :(

We've been loyal customers of Pen Thai for years, ordering from them at least twice a month. The food has always been delicious and consistent - which kept us coming back for more! Unfortunately, tonight's experience left us deeply disappointed. While eating an order delivered via UberEats, I discovered a dead cockroach in my orange chicken. As much as we've loved and supported this restaurant, this is a serious health and safety concern. I truly hope this is an isolated incident and that it's taken seriously and investigated. We've always considered this spot a go-to, but food safety has to come first. I'm genuinely so sad to write this & will always have a special place in my heart for PT. 3 stars for all of the amazing meals we've had over the years. So bummed.

I've been ordering delivery from Pen Thai for what seems like a while now, so I think a review is in order. I ate here once in person and it was clean inside and we were sat quickly despite the place being very busy. And there's a reason it's very busy, because the food here is fantastic. I've had quite a few items so I will detail my favorite dishes. Shrimp Shumai dumplings A+ unbelievably good Pen Thai egg roll B-/C+ these are fine better items IMO Chicken Satay A-/B+ love the peanut sauce Fresh spring rolls A+ fresh and fantastic Tom Yum soup B, it's good but I've had better Tom Yum elsewhere and think there are better menu items Pad Thai A- excellent here, not the best I've ever had but I do appreciate the spice level and it's definitely the best I've had in this area Spicy Duck Basil A- really good dish, very well made, great flavor and unique! Want to try something new? This is a great pick! Orange Chicken A+ if you order it my way haha, ask for medium spicy and expect a kick! Keep up the great work Pen Thai 5/5 from me.

One of the best Thai food I've had in a while. We were of us and all of us were like this food is so good. So we were coming from Vernon hills to Arlington heights and on the way there my wife wanted to eat Thai food. And I was like it is south of where we wanted to go but I was like Lets do it since it is a 5 star restaurant with no food violation. Went there it was open seating which made me believe even more they care about the food than being fancy. 5 stars for keeping the place clean, the flavor in green curry was the best I have had in Illinois area by far. Loved those crab Rangoon and spring roll. My wife loved her panang curry with tofu and kug pao tofu Would love to visit them again.

The prices are okay for portions as you get a lot. A casual yet classy atmosphere. It's got a pretty big menu. There's all the favorites including curries and noodles among other things. This is made with basil leaves, bell peppers, coconut milk, keffir lime leaves, and choice of protein, including tofu. It came in a big bowl. This was more like a soup because it was pretty runny. Every entree comes with a side choice--the Tom Yum soup and chicken potstickers were both solid options. As for the mains, it was a bit of a mixed bag: Massaman Curry (Chicken): Rich, full of flavor, and absolutely essential to pair with rice. Papaya Salad: Outstanding--super refreshing with a great crunch. Pad Thai & Pad See Ew: Disappointing protein quality. The chicken in the Pad Thai was dry, and the beef in the Pad See Ew was sliced paper-thin and equally dry. Basil Duck: Surprisingly bland and lacked flavor. Overall, some highlights, but the meats and flavor consistency could definitely use some improvement.

The curry was flavorful, packed with veggies and chicken, and paired so nicely with the fluffy white rice. We also got the pad woon sen, and it had a nice wok hei flavor; the noodles were bouncy and paired well with the hot sauce on the table as well. Lastly, we got the mango sticky rice for dessert, and they give you SO MANY MANGOES. The rice was sweet, and you had enough mangoes to pair it with every single bite of rice. The service was good; they always made sure to check in on us and even brought us extra plates to let us share our dishes. The only con I have is that I asked for potatoes in my curry, but I didn't know it'd be a dollar extra. It's not a big deal, but I'd love to know when I ask. The ambiance was very Thai themed, and they had a lot of awards for their restaurant. It also caught my eye that they won a food bracket tournament with other restaurants I have heard of as well. There's also a large parking lot and lots of seats if you want to dine in. I also noticed a large amount of takeout orders, so you can tell this place is very popular.

We ordered from Thai House Restaurant! I was in the mood for some Tom Yum Veggie Soup and Pad See-Iew. We also ordered Hawaiian Chicken and Fried Rice. For starters we had Mee Krob and Fried Vegetarian Won Ton. The Mee Krob is one of my favorites. The sweet and sour sauce mixed with crispy rice noodles topped with fried tofu is really good. And the fried veggie won ton has a perfectly seasoned tofu stuffed inside. The Tom Yum Veggie Soup had that yummy tang that hit the spot. The veggies still had a nice crunch to them. The Pad-See-Iew was sweet but not too sweet. What I really love are the veggies and the smoked / charred taste to them. It's like the wok has years and years of seasoning embedded in it. So good, The Hawaiian chicken was cooked just right. It was not dry and was very juicy and it was great with the fried rice. I've never eaten inside the restaurant as we tend to order on lazy Sundays. Every time I order take out, from here, the food is ready with the time promised. I placed my order pretty late in the evening and was surprised by how many customers were there when I went to pick up my food. I took that as a good sign and I was not disappointed one bit. The portion sizes were hefty and the flavors were ahhmazing. I'm so glad I decided to venture out and try a new place. My husband and I finally pulled the trigger and enjoyed it quite a bit. We were told our food would take about 20 minutes and it was ready right on time. The inside was nice if you want to dine in. We ordered the Crab Rangoon to share, Pineapple Fried Rice with Tofu, and Roasted Duck Curry. The Crab Rangoon came with five pieces and a good helping of sauce. I really enjoyed the filling flavor and they rangoons travelled well. My husband enjoyed his Roasted Duck Curry and ordered it at medium heat. This meal does come with white rice although it is not listed on the description. My Pineapple Fried Rice was okay. The rice could have been mixed better with soy sauce and there were areas still white, the pineapple was oddly very yellow, and the tofu came in very large chunks. I wish there was a bit more flavor pop, but overall it was okay.
