The super gyro has so much yummy meat in it that the pita can hardly hold them, and the zucchini fries were crispy and not oily. It also comes with a couple really good tzatziki sauces. My wife really enjoyed the avgolemono (lemon and chicken) soup and greek salad. She was so pleased with the combo that she had to order an extra takeout combo for her friend to try. On top of all that, we finished our great meal with a baklava sundae; two fresh crispy baklava pastries with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with cinnamon and honey. Parking can be a little limited, but the lot is validated by the store, which helps. My favorite item on the menu is the Doner Sandwich with the lamb-and-chicken mix. I always order extra garlic yogurt sauce on the side, which takes it to another level. While Doner Shack is a little pricier than some other quick-service options, I think it's absolutely worth it. It's one of those places I find myself craving regularly and happily recommending to friends.

The kitchen is in a building that you can't actually enter - so you place your order online or by phone, and then go to the pick up location (55 Merchant St) to get your order. However, you need to call them to let them know you're there, and only then will they come down with your food. This makes complete sense to me and I even see the instruction on the order website now, but I guess I just missed that detail - so that's on me! There is some space to pull over in front of the building when you pick up your order, and once they know you're there, they come downstairs in just a few minutes. If you can't find nearby street parking, the nearest municipal lot is the Chinatown gateway one. I will definitely come back to try more of their food!

At approximately 7:40 PM, I visited the establishment to grab a meal, but I witnessed a staff member working at the food station coughing repeatedly directly over the open food displays. While doing so, she was wiping down the counter and continuing her tasks without turning away, wearing a mask, or taking any precautions. Seeing a staff member cough directly onto the food is completely unacceptable and a major health violation. Needless to say, I left immediately without ordering. I am sharing this in the hope that management will take this seriously. Employees showing signs of illness should not be working with food, and basic hygiene protocols must be enforced to protect your customers.
