As I am ordering the cook- owner of this looks at the guy behind me and says what can I get started for you? I'm like ok she just wants to get things going. We made it out to Pearlridge Village Night Market on Saturday evening and it was the first food truck he noticed. We decided to go Downstairs to the night market tonight and KABABA MAMA was the absolute WORST food vendor experience we ever had at the night market. We live in the area and we like to support local businesses but this buffoonery that I witnessed tonight at Kababa Mama has to rank in the top 3. So we were waiting in the line to order for about 30 minutes which is fine. Once we get to the front to order they tell us it's a 40 minute wait. Ok that's fine. So we wait, and wait, and wait over an hour we wait. They are so unorganized, overwhelmed and flustered. They are calling peoples numbers that were beind us in the ordering line. We know because they were saying how did we got our food when we were behind you. Then a guy comes up and asks for his order and they seem to have gave his order to someone else and he was waiting for about 1 hour half no apology to him just keep serving people and making him wait That's just plan ridiculous. So we ask the lady when will our order be ready. All she tells us is I don't know the girls messed up the tickets. Not an apology or anything. Her attitude was like customer service doesn't matter. I paid $17 for an average smash falafel. Which I wouldn't mind if customer service was better. I clearly understand Support Local but in the flip side you don't treat people who are trying to patronize your local business like this. It seemed like she couldn't handle being in the deep weeds. Wrong industry to be in if you can't handle being that busy. Even with being that busy you should never forget about customer service. Tonight I had the opportunity to try Kababa Mama at the Wai Kai Farmer's Market, which takes place every Thursday. It was my first time trying the delicious fare at Kababa Mama! They had three choices of "smashburger": Chicken Shawarma, Beef/Lamb combo, and Falafel. First off, what a genius concept! Falafels are usually round and hard to eat rolled up in a pita and having it "smashburger" style, directly smashed onto the pita was such an AMAZING experience! i normally do not write reviews but this service was infuriating enough to prompt me to write one. we visited their stand at one of the night markets and stood in line for 30 minutes just to be told that it is a 40 minute wait for food. i feel like that is something they should have posted up on their sign or screamed out to the line for customers to hear for us to determine whether or not they wanted to wait in line still. i completely understand that in a busy and hectic market that all hands are necessary but a quick break to write a sign or scream out that there is an extended wait wouldn't take too long. at that point after waiting 30 minutes we just ordered and decided to come back when 40 minutes were up since we had used up so much time in line already. we came back after 30 min to be safe but still ended up waiting another 50 minutes after that - so an hour and 20 minutes total. i wouldn't be writing this review if they were just backed up but the lady calling out numbers was rude and wouldn't even look at us when we first came to clarify whether or not we missed them calling our number since the numbers they were calling were all over the place. she told us another 15 minutes which ended up to be way longer. not only was she rude but they ended up giving our food to the customers who ordered after us because they apparently were complaining too much. after watching them give them free drinks AND give our food to them we came up again to ask where ours was. essentially they said "oops we gave your food to another person because they were waiting long" as if we were not waiting the same amount of time. there were no apologies or any sort of accountability taken for giving away our food and forcing us to wait another 15 minutes after handing off the food that was meant for us away. as someone who has worked many busy events like this, i understand accommodating for complaints but not at the cost of inconveniencing other customers in front of them and not even apologizing. the food was not worth the experience or the wait. read more

Just left the Village Market at Pearlridge and the reason for the 3-stars is the service. I really want to give 5 stars because the food was great but I feel that I have to give only 3 because service is a huge part of a successful business and the service I received tonight was not on par with a 5 star experience. This was my first time here and the lady that was taking the orders (I don't think she was the owner) and handing out the food was rude, indifferent and carried herself with a condescending tone. The wait is about 15-20 minutes which is fine and understandable especially if you want great quality, fresh food. So of course, it appears that people place their orders and then they walk around and return later. Well, the lady that was calling out the orders might not like that because if she's repeating the number she gets loud and irritated and rolls her eyes. I mean is it really that big of a deal? You're the one telling people 15-20 minutes, do you just expect people to stand there and wait? When my order was ready, I asked her if she could make it to go or if she had a foil and OMG I guess that deserved an eye roll as well! It's my first time there!
