I found my truck on autotrader.com and called Pegues-Hurst. I was nervous purchasing a vehicle unseen as I have been miss-lead in the past. Steven Detro was extremely helpful. He sent pictures of every possible flaw in the used truck. He patiently answered every single question I asked. Once I arrived at the dealer I was pleased to find the truck was as described. It was used, so you expect some minor dings here and there. I had an opportunity to examine each one via pictures on my cell phone. They were as described on the vehicle. Overall the truck was in fantastic shape. I am a very happy customer. Also, getting to the dealership was an adventure - Steven worked with me the entire day as plans changed moment to moment. I took my 2019 escape to have the three dashboard warning lights repaired. They kept my car for two nights and presented me with an estimate of $1800 which included two tires that I did not need. They never told me the diagnostic would cost me $200 but I opted for another mechanic to fix the warning lights for half the price. My advice is to find out what the cost of the diagnostic is before you leave your car for three days. I was denied by Doug a refund of half of the diagnostic and that may be standard for them, but it is a bad policy for me not to know upfront what the diagnostic was going to cost. read more

Not a fan of this dealership. Pure deceptive business practices. Put 7k down on a used GT mustang. Left the financed significantly less than the value of the car. Almost chastised for not getting Gap Insurance.. then the pitch for an extended warranty that has 1 yr of bumper to bumper and 3 yrs of drivetrain. I can always get an extended warranty...like they don't call or recieve mail every other day for one. Lol! The dastardly deed had to do with the bent wheel on the vehicle that wasn't recognized nor disclosed at the time of sale and when contacted, the only response I recieved was "we hope you enjoy your car" got the text saved. Normally that wouldn't bother me but the fact that they put new tires on this car and didnt disclose. Got the lust of work performed at trade in. They knew, it didnt balance out. $500 later with a new wheel, it drives like a dream. read more

So recall, I call, make appointment and they say have it here at 8 am, drop truck off the night before and call at 8 am to make sure they know I exist...silence till almost four o'clock..call and Candy says we haven't started on it, it's like an 8 hour job..I say okay so when should it be done? She's says I can pick my truck up on the following Monday. Went and got it. The worst dealership I've ever had the misfortune of walking into, must be the new woke Ford value system. Avoid this dealership at all costs, even if they are selling Ford GTs for a dollar I'd walk, cuz you know it's gonna be a scam!! This was the worst car buying experience of my entire life. Arrived at 12:30, 3 hours into a multi-state trip and did not leave until 6:30pm. We arrived knowing what we wanted (saw the car online), decided while test driving we wanted it and secured financing within 30 minutes. Mark the salesman told us 3 people were ahead of us, and they were using a new system for financing, which could slow things down. I have bought many cars before and figured, 30-45 minutes per customer, so perhaps 2 hours. Two hours later when my wife was asked for a time update, she was told by Mark patience is not her virtue and the finance guy is not too be disturbed. By the way, our three kids were with us and we were buying a car because our 2018 Honda Odyssey was acting up on a cross country trip. We asked Mark if we could leave to get our kids some food (late breakfast, no lunch) to which he told us we would loose our place in line if we left. We were stuck. Two and a half hours later, my wife again asks for an update to which Mark raised her voice at her saying he already told her it will take a while, it is not their fault because they were struggling with a new system and the finance guy was not to be disturbed with a question about estimated time...essentially we have no right to be upset because it is "not their fault." My wife said this situation is becoming disrespectful to the customer, which Mark then said he took issue with her calling him disrespectful...which she did not say. He further raised his voice, and my wife said "do not talk to me like that," to which he stepped into her space and she put up her hand and said "do not talk to me that way." At this time, the general manager showed up and started raising his voice at her, and essentially told us we can leave if waiting is a problem. Lest they forget, it is now 5pm, our current car is failing and the time we could have spent at a different dealership was spent sitting in Mark's office waiting for the magic moment we would sign the papers, whenever that time was. Then the finance guy walked through, joined in and yelled at my wife. Not once did she raise her voice, use profanity, call anyone names, she just wanted a time update so we could get our kids some food. By this moment, my wife was shaking and started crying. Soon after, the finance guy called us back to his cubicle, defended himself, telling us why we are being unreasonable about being upset for waiting 5 hours with no time updates. He said they were helping us out because of our situation...we bought the car for sticker price, our trade-in was $3,000 less than CarMax offered and they were helping us out by completing the purchase of a $48,000 car? After a while the finance guy apologized, saying Mark can be a hothead and it is true he gets upset when the salesmen disturb him. After making a mistake on our financing paperwork, he told my husband to go get our kids some food while he started it over. We left the dealership 6 hours after arriving. The only nice person was Susan who gave my kids some snacks. My kids spent 6 hours watching Daniel the Tiger in Korean (we do not speak Korean) and even other customers offered to get out kids some food. Hindsight, I wish we would have had lunch delivered, but we never in our right minds expected it to take 6 hours to purchase a car. I cannot tell you how shocking it was to be treated this way. The customer does not always have to be right, but in this case we almost felt abused and taken advantage of because of our desperate situation. Also, where was the general manager? Has he and the owner lost complete control of the the dealership? In what world is it okay for a salesman to yell at a customer? What an incredibly toxic group of people. read more

I have never been to this establishment nor do I live in TX. Unfortunately, they keep sending me messages to confirm appointments (I cancel them) and they also send me surveys regarding the service (I) never received. I've called them and replied via survey several times to have them stop. To no avail. So we are...unfortunately the lowest score possible is a one. Their actually a negative 20. Not only didn't they remove my address and correct it so their true customer gets better service, I think they sold my address because I now receive innumerable emails from various Republicans in Texas seeking donations etc. read more

Usually get great service but not this time. Got the Works service. All went well but the oil change. I got back home and my truck was leaking oil from the oil filter. Had to take it back to dealer for correction. The technician put on a new oil filter and it fixed the problem. read more

No Cash Sales Here! My wife and I stopped here on Thursday before Christmas and found a F150 LARIAT that we test drove and immediately fell in love with it. However, whenever we wanted a cash sale, no trade in, no financing, (and come to find out later) and because we weren't residents of Longview, we were told there was a very specific mechanical recall and the truck could not be sold. We left the dealership completely bewildered and dumbfounded. There was no further discussion of price, options, or filling out any paperwork to make this truck our own. We had been asked for our names and phone numbers and we were told that we would be contacted whenever the recall was addressed. It felt like: Don't call us... we'll call you. That night I researched the very specifically described recall and the FORD Recall website had nothing even close for a 2021 F150. I input the VIN into the FORD Recall site and it told me there were no applicable recalls for the vehicle. I called the dealership on Monday, spoke to a different sales person, and behold the truck was for sale. No issues. No recalls. I was asked if I wanted to come in for a test drive. That is until I said I had already test driven it and was wanting a cash sale. No trade in and no financing. Quick and easy. After a call to the sales manager by the new sales person to discuss a cash only sale, the sales person promptly called me back and told me the truck was already sold!!! Absolutely nothing about a recall and that someone had submitted an online application for financing that morning and it was now sold!!! A phone call to the sales manager was equally frustrating because he informed us the vehicle wasn't sold!!! But by now it was obvious they were making things up as they went along because the stories didn't match. After a very confrontational phone conversation about this very fact with the sales manager, that it appeared we were simply and blatantly being lied to. We were told that they didn't have to sell us a vehicle, and in fact they wouldn't. Now I have a 2013 F150 that I bought brand new that now has +110K miles that I could have traded in. I didn't want or need the 0% financing. But we were never given any options or told the truth of why they wouldn't sell us the vehicle. The stories changed with each person we spoke with and as for the phantom recall, I checked with an out-of-state FORD authorized dealership and they too had no information on a recall as described for this vehicle. read more

UNETHICAL DEALERSHIP. BEWARE! Below you will read about how Pegues-Hurst Ford uses unethical business practices of showing one price on their website and not honoring it once you are in the store. Worse than the classic bait and switch, they allow you to believe you will receive that price until you have finished the paperwork but then will inform you they will not honor their own price. Even with cash down, they will refuse your business unless you are willing to pay them extra money. This is how it happened to me: On Monday I went to Pegues-Hurst Ford in Longview to purchase a Ford Explorer. I had been communicating with a Sales Consultant since Wednesday the week before and had the deal worked out. Nothing special, just what they had on their website including the specials Ford is currently running. I had discussed with the Sales Consultant when the best day to come in to purchase it would be and we settled on Monday. So, I called in the morning and let him know that I would be that way in an hour. It is about an hour drive to Longview from Tyler. I loaded up the wife and kids to take me over so I could drive the new car home. On arrival at Pegues-Hurst Ford the Sales Consultant I had been working with was busy with another customer so he gave me the keys to the Explorer and my wife took it for a test drive (it was supposed to be her new car.) She loved it and we agreed that was the one we wanted. At this point, I consulted with my Sales Consultant and he said he didn't think there would be any issues so I sent my wife home with our 2 and 5 year old kids so they didn't have to wait around for the paperwork process. Fast forward to an hour later, my family is home and the sales consultant was free to do the paperwork. Again, we had pretty much worked everything out on the phone so I figured it would be quick by car sales standards. Then the first issue comes up; the finance manager is backed up and I would not be able to sign the finance paperwork until the following day. We worked through it and Pegues-Hurst would send someone to me with the paperwork, but I would take the car home that night. Works for me. Second issue; the detail people had left for the day so if I wanted the car cleaned, I would have to bring it back. Again, frustrating but I could live with it. The Explorer had been sitting on the lot a while, so it was filthy on the outside and had noticeable signs of others test driving it on the inside. At this point I'm still ready to make the deal and drive the car home. The biggest issue came when we finished the agreement for purchase. I signed the paperwork to purchase the vehicle for $42,325 with $3000 in Ford incentives just like the website says. I planned to put $10,000 down and finance the rest through Ford. The Sales Consultant takes the paperwork over to the manager and they have a discussion. I figured something was up because it took a while. When the Sales Consultant returned, he informed me they could NOT sell me the car for the price listed on their website. The website, THEIR website, was wrong. He told me the website already had the incentives worked in even though it CLEARLY states the incentives are not worked in. The manager comes over and states the same thing. They give me a new sales agreement with the $3000 removed making the car a $45,325 vehicle. NO DEAL! After a whole day at the dealership, I had to call my wife to drive back from Tyler to Longview with our kids in tow to pick me up. The day was a waste. I have purchased many cars from different Ford dealerships. All my vehicles have been Fords or Mercurys. I have never seen such a case of BAIT & SWITCH. To not honor the prices on your OWN website is beyond UNETHICAL. It is downright criminal. As a loyal Ford customer, I am appalled that Ford allows any of their dealerships to operate in this fashion. All I can suggest is you spend your money elsewhere. Do not trust this dealership. They have no interest in gaining or retaining customers. read more

I'm not sure if the problem is dimwits or we bought a bad car, but either way it seems like our car is always in the shop because these people keep breaking stuff. On top of that, they just love to take their time when it comes to fixing cars. First it was leaking rain water through the passenger door and it took a month for them to fix. Then our engine ended up having mis-shaped cylinders (ridiculous for a 2017 model) and that also took a month to fix. After replacing the engine our car came back making yet another strange sound because the mechanics didn't tighten everything correctly. On top of all that, they have few loan cars to spare you when your vehicle is being serviced, and they are of lesser value than your own car. Why are we paying $800/month just for our car to be in the shop all the time and we have to drive an ugly Ecosport in the meantime? The blonde secretary who handles the loan vehicles doesn't have a lot of patience; this is her world, we all just live in it I guess. We will be writing a letter to Ford headquarters to let them know after this whole experience we won't be buying another Ford in the future, even though the Mustangs are cool as heck. read more

Bought my Ford Escape here. Never had a problem with this vehicle. Today, drag when started and monitor read "normal mode" and the clock reverted to 12am. I googled it and lead to a new battery. I called Pegues service and the guy didn't give his name. I told him what was going on and I bought the vehicle there. He showed no signs of customer loyalty urgency at all. Instead, told me to come in tomorrow. This was at 10am today. You can't tell me someone there could not put a ford motorcraft battery in for a customer who bought from them. I guess if I was one of the "buddies" or a "local" it would have been different. They are good for the sell, but terrible for after the sell service. He is the reason I will not buy or recommend this dealership again. I called another ford dealership and they got me right in quickly and treated me like I had bought the car from them. So, I'm now buying my wife an Explorer from them. If any mgt at Pegues reads this (which I doubt) you can see who was on your service phone at 10am today and you should know- he cost you a customer and $$$$$. Repeat customers are good for business. Joel Leary was our sales person he was amazing work with my brother for one week getting him the best deal on a pickup we told him exactly what we wanted and how much he can make his payments and Joel made it happen, always a smile on his face and a kind word to say upbeat very positive young man I see him going along way with this company very passionate and loves Ford product. We had a horrible experience and Marshall Texas Ford they were rude to my brother they treated him horribly they took money from him and my brother is somewhat mentally disabled (hard of hearing and slow)and was treated so wrong by Marshall Ford I will never forget how bad they treated him even at one point scoffed at him, can't say that about Longview Pegues-Hurst Ford of Longview Texas, they were amazing, kind and caring went way above and beyond the Call of Duty I wish that Ford corporate could know how amazing these people are and how kind they were to my brother as a matter of fact I will be giving them a call, thank you again for all of your help and your wonderful people there at Ford in Longview. read more
