Went here after working a 10 hour day in Kenosha, (I live in West Allis). Ordered a 2 piece cod and a virgin Pina Colada for dinner. I wanted the drink with the food, y'know cuz I didn't want to have to order 2. I didn't know it'd take 20-25 minutes to get my drink while my food was getting cold. The waitress said she was waiting for the owner to make it, and eventually got frustrated and had someone else make it. I asked to speak to the man, the owner, who made excuses like a lazy, disconnected boss' kid. He said it was busy, and the restaurant was barely 1/3 full. I asked why wasn't anyone else trained on that station? He blew me off as if I was one bothering him, but I was the one who was waiting and paying him!!! I am a manager, and I know customers don't want excuses, they want to be made happy when their experience is lacking, especially to this degree. The response from the owner is what's I'd expect of a teenager with his first job, not someone in his 50's-60's. When the owner doesn't care about his customers, and finds their complaints annoyances, they need to just close!!!! read more

I've been coming here since the Omega days. Saying it's your "typical" Greek restaurant is accurate. Good food, fair prices, generous portions. Meatloaf, fried chicken, Italian and Greek choices, are great, especially the gyros. The ribs are fall off the bone tender and even the liver and onions are great. Skip the steaks, they're okay but this isn't the place for a steak. They're great at the comfort foods. The soups are good, although the Chicken Dumpling Soup is fantastic. Good selection for desserts and there are cocktails available. If you're in West Allis and looking for a nice place for a simple meal with good coffee, in a relaxed atmosphere, but you're not into the latest sports bars or trendy hot spot, it's a great choice. read more

We decided to stop here at about 1:30 AM on a Friday - well technicality Saturday morning. My husband ordered the Gyro. His meal came with a choice of potato so he ordered fries. He also got a cup of soup so he had ordered clam chowder. I ordered the shrimp basket. My meal came with a choice of potatoes and a cup of soup. I ordered fries and the chicken with pasta soup. My meal came with a dessert and I ordered it after I ate my food. The manager (who I assume was the manager) packaged the cake I ordered while I paid. The soup came first. My soup was disgusting. It was way too salty and the noodles turned to mush. My husbands soup was okay. I told the waitress and she brought me a cup of the clam chowder at no extra cost. When the meals came out they looked pretty decent. My husband said his was okay except for a couple areas on the lamb that were really tough. My shrimp was really good. Perfectly crunchy on the outside. I would probably order it again. Both of our fries were horrible. They were cold and unseasoned. The waitress clearly did not want to be there and she seated a group of drunk people (8) right next to us even though there was no one else in the restaurant and plenty of open tables. I mentioned they were really loud and distracting and she did nothing about it. She never asked them to be quiet. I also noticed when they were seated she immediately brought all of them a glass of water. She didn't give or even offer us water. As I paid and was signing the receipt the manager (who I mentioned earlier) was hovering over me and I could smell his breath and his body odor. It made my stomach turn. When I got home I decided it was time to eat the piece of cake I got. I opened the container and the smell of the cake was not good. I took 1 bite and couldn't even swallow it. Try a new breakfast spot (check). This is a Greek restaurant that serves gyro meat with your breakfast (well, if you order it). I had the menu item that had 3 eggs, hash browns, toast and gyro meat (with that special ... or maybe not so special, gyro sauce). Let's just say the breakfast was underwhelming. Toast was burnt and the hash browns were probably a little undercooked. BUT, the eggs were a-okay and that gyro meat with that dip made the meal all the more worthwhile. Why do diners seem to have the same size cup for a "large" milk... just slightly larger than the water cup. Great, now I have to 'sip' this while I eat this plate of food. The last thing worth noting is the free wifi... only because the name is Yellow Fish and when you get seated you will see three large aquariums nearby. Wasn't expecting it, but also not disappointed by this surprise. My overall experience was average, I could see stopping back. I did like that it wasn't too busy on a Sunday around 11:30am (where other restaurants had lines out the door), I like food now when I'm hungry, not later. read more

Almost a weekly visit! This is a great restaurant for breakfast (which they serve all day). I've been coming here for years and can't think of a time that I wasn't satisfied. I recently tried something other than breakfast and had their turkey burger, I loved it. I also tried their taco salad which was pretty big and tasty. Sure one might think, how can you mess up a taco salad but trust me you can. I recently went to Habanero's by 76th & Layton and thought their taco salad was less mediocre. People are friendly and I've never had to wait to be seated. Service is pretty fast and prices are reasonable. I will continue to make this my restaurant of choice for years to come. read more

We wanted to stay in at the beautiful AirBnB we were renting so we did take out using Yelp/GrubHub. It was a 40 min wait from time of order but we were fine with that because I planned ahead and ordered early before the restaurant was open. Totally excellent experience! Pegasus omelettes were huge and I requested them to be cooked hard because I hate runny eggs and they were perfectly done! I ordered cheese and my hubby got the farmers omelette- both were tasty - nothing bland here! Came with hashbrowns and toast! I asked what their specials were she told me they were on the board by the door and she didn't know them. She's rude to the bus staff, doesn't call him by name yells hey bring them coffee. I could also tell you that on Father's Day at 11am the booth across from us had a giant woman in it who was wearing a shirt that said, "I'm not perfect, but I'm so close it's scary." She ordered a pina colada after her boyfriend ordered a Bud Light. But I'll tell you more... I've been here for breakfast twice and did take out for dinner once. Their menu is huge, and they serve a LOT of food. Breakfast specials are reasonably priced. We ordered the gyros plate for our dinner take out and ended up with so much food that we were able to have a whole entire meal again the next day. Okay, so I'm a Greek restaurant addict. And have been to so many. This is as good as it gets. This is known as "our restaurant"--my partner and I have been going here since we first moved to West Allis. Our waitress even knows us! The waitress and host are always so courteous. You will get more than enough food for what you pay. I love this place. The coupons are great too. The liver and onions are to die for (if you like that sort of thing), we've also have had many other things there (too much to list). Pegasus is pretty standard as far as family restaurants go. It is a casual environment with booths and tables. The menu is huge, with just anything you could want from a burger to a steak to spaghetti to various chicken dishes. The food itself is rather bland in my experience, at least for the most part. Pegasus is very good within the class of family restaurants. It excels in several areas and has no significant weaknesses. The menu selection is a little larger than that of a typical family restaurant. In addition to the regular menu items, there are about a dozen specials that either supplement the main menu or are reduced price versions of the standing menu items. Speaking of reduced prices, there is a Senior Citizens menu containing about three dozen of the assorted dinners from the main menu, offered at a discount to seniors. That's it. Just a lower price for the seniors on those dinners. Dinner comprises soup or salad, bread basket, entree with choice of potato, and choice of beer, wine or dessert. My companion ordered the tilapia dinner ($11.95) and I ordered the smoked pork chops with sauerkraut ($8.95), a dish similar to the German Kassler Rippchen. Salad: The salad was very fresh, but otherwise completely mediocre, from the lettuce on down to the salad dressing. Soup: The soup of the day was home made, a tortilla chicken soup. It was not bad, but also not exceptional. Entrees: The tilapia and the smoked pork were pretty good, both in quality and quantity. Quantities served are huge. Flavor was ok, not bad at all. Vegetables: These were fresh and cooked just right. Properly cooked vegetables is one of the little things that, for me, makes a restaurant stand out. Fresh bread is the other, and the Greek bread in the basket at Pegasus was fresh, fresh, fresh. Potato: Pegasus serves about 10 different kinds of potato dish options, including a lightly herbed potato pancake, which I ordered, and which I enjoyed. The baked potato was ok, but mediocre. Choice of beer, wine or dessert: We both opted for the dessert, one blueberry pie and one German chocolate cake, each with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was excellent quality, one or two notches above that which is normally served in a family restaurant. The pie was pretty good, and my companion stated the the cake was excellent. Summarizing the food experience, several items were excellent, others were quite good, above average, and a few of the items were on the average to mediocre side. The quantity of food served is gigantic. We left half of our meal uneaten to save room for dessert. Price: As I have stated above, the bill for both of these dinners combined amounted to around $20. Numerous booths have outside views, but the interior booths are nice too. There is a counter area with half a dozen round seats. Overall, the restaurant looks cheery, clean and lively. I was surprised to find out that Pegasus is open 24 hours a day. How do they keep the restaurant so clean? Service: In general, the servers were friendly and competent. The busboys must team with them because our busboy took drink orders. We had a good experience with service during our visit. Parking: Pegasus has an auxiliary parking lot across the street, which augments the small dedicated lot surrounding the restaurant. In summary, Pegasus is a very good family restaurant. It is well run, the food is good, and meals are inexpensive. The ambience and service are also good. I highly recommend Pegasus Restaurant to visitors and local residents of West Allis. read more

Atmosphere is huge issue at night. I work 2nd went to get a bite to eat and didn't want fast food. The food is always decent for the most part. The video game slots are a deal breaker this isn't the bingo hall. A small group who clearly hang out for hours loudly slapping buttons as if that will somehow lead to a win. Even moving tables more towards the kitchen you could still here it. Waitress just complained with me vs. asking the man to please stop for those eating. read more

As always the food was great. However, I felt unsafe since our waitress wasn't concerned about Covid-19 PPE. She complained "it was to hot for a mask or gloves" my aunt and uncle even asked her to please put her mask on. She declined. We absolutely love this restaurant. I have been going here with my wife since my children were small. The style is a Greek/American restaurant that is very popular in Chicago and Milwaukee. We love that they offer pretty much anything you could ask for. The Greek dishes are of course amazing as well as the American food. Soups are always very good. They also do Mexican dishes well. We always seek these kind of old-school family restaurants and this place is one of our favorites of that style. My boyfriend and I stopped in late morning, around 10:30, to grab some quick breakfast before starting our Christmas shopping. Well, our stop was not even close to quick. We ordered a simple omelette, pancakes, over easy eggs, and hash browns. We waited for 45 minutes for our food and rarely saw our waitress. We were the only table in the back section (windows by greenfield ave) so I am assuming we were just kind of forgotten about. Pegasus is just an okay Greek Family restaurant. We skipped Thanksgiving this year and even planned to skip the turkey. I caved in and decided to try Pegasus. They were one of the few restaurants open thanksgiving evening. We didn't dine in, we picked up. We ordered turkey dinners with soup and cheesecake for dessert. The soup was so bland my dog (who eats everything) refused to eat it. It was like a cup of unseasoned thickened flour water. Honestly, it was supposed to be cream of something soup but I could not tell what was in it. Skip any kind of cream soup there. The turkey was tender and moist. The gravy was pretty good. The mashed potatoes were homemade and good with some salt. Cranberries were straight out of the can. Pretty blah. The stuffing was mushy and thick. I couldn't even tell it was stuffing. There were no crispy bread chunks or any kind of flavoring in it. Again, super bland. Cheesecake was thin and barely had any crust on it. It came plain without toppings. It was actually pretty good. I put a drop of rhubarb and blueberry jam on top and it was fantastic. Despite the negatives, I am giving Pegasus three stars. We stopped about 5:45p after having a rather busy day. I ordered the Bacon Double Cheese Burger. The burger arrived with both patties seared on the outside and completely raw in the center. As soon as I bit into it I spit it out. The server apologized but nobody else did. We left immediately. At the register the woman asked how everything was and when I said awful she replied "great" not listening to what I said. When I explained she just got it wrong she looked at the check and acknowledged my meal was removed. They did not say sorry let us fix it as nobody cared. They could have comped the check for the trouble but did not nor did anybody offer a reason to come back. Turn, run, and don't look back. read more
