I live in the RB-RPQ-4S-Poway area and I had to go out to Escondido to find amazing breakfast food, decently priced and with excellent customer service! Our waitress, Francine was super accommodating and friendly. She was on top of it, asking if we needed anything else and recommending dishes, she truly made our experience a wonderful one, so much we had to come back the next day! It is a medium size place with a bit of parking out front and on the sides. This place has a vibe of old breakfast places we used to visit while living in Florida, so it felt a bit nostalgic. Our server Francine was so attentive - she made sure everyone in our 12-person group had exactly what we needed: tea for the tea drinkers, coffee for the caffeine-heads, water for everyone, and brought out the cholula bottles because she knew we like that premium hot sauce experience. Pegah's is not only one of the best restaurants in North County, I'll go so far as to say it's one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. There is a threefold reason why it's one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. They are: 1) consistently great and delicious food (breakfast or lunch); 2) friendly, attentive, and near family-like waitstaff that is inviting; and 3) each customer is treated with the same red-carpet service and you can see the happiness when you scan the room. It's a great experience to come to Pegah's and anyone can tell you that. My wife and I have been coming here for the last two years and our weekend ritual always includes one meal at Pegah's. The hash browns are always made to order, the eggs are cooked perfectly (no matter the style), and the pancakes have that very difficult combination of good structure, not too sweet, and not too overwhelming. As I mentioned in earlier review, the friendly service has always been top-notch. My only knock before was inconsistency on just a few menu items. Pegah's is located in Northern Escondido which is an older part of town. Pegah's Kitchen is inside a small unassuming building on the corner of a residential area. Inside, it was busy (Saturday morning) but we were seated within 10 minutes or so. Orders were taken quickly. I ordered the special: Banana stuffed French toast with eggs and sausage. Food came out quickly and the dish and service were great. I love supporting these little local diners, they're holding onto a little piece of history, something most chains aren't doing. read more

It was a multigrain bread, but still delicious. The hash browns are solid. The coffee is okay. My hubby had a skillet and loved it. I was not glutened and walked out with a full tummy and a smile. I love any place where I can get a consistently good eggs Benedict, any day of the week. It has the right amount of hollandaise, and the English muffins taste homemade. With a choice of hashbrowns, homefries, or fruit, that should be enough choices for anyone. They also have a couple of the wacky Benedicts, but you won't see me ordering those. They have coupons that come in the mailers, which only work on weekdays. One of them is $7 Free entree with purchase of an entree & 2 drinks. There's not a ton of choices at breakfast: kid's meal, senior meal, or panake or waffle. Not too bad, considering it's free (but you are spending about $5 in drinks, not the best if you're one of my water-only friends, LOL). There are a few other kinds of coupons, currently, which may be better depending on what you're ordering or if you are eating solo. Service is always super friendly. We've never had a problem getting refills, or to go boxes for our food. The parking can be a problem, however. They only have maybe 6 or 7 regular spots, plus 2 handicap. After that, you're on the street. It gets crazy busy on the weekends, especially since they're only open til 2:30. If you can, come a little later on a weekday and save some hassle. read more

I had the grilled ham & cheese breakfast sandwich and my daughter had the kids French toast with egg and bacon. Coffee isn't my favorite but it isn't a deal breaker. My daughter enjoyed her hot chocolate. Everyone is always friendly and this place has great service but if you ever get a chance to sit in Sierra's section, I'd highly recommend her. Sweet lady.
