Went here about a week ago and it was such a nice experience that I wanted to remember to log into YELP and leave this place a really nice review. First of all the place looks really clean as soon as you walk in, it is well lit with natural light. The food was delicious. Even my guest who is a very picky eater cleaned her plate. Great variety on the menu. The servers were very attentive and were pleasant through the entire encounter. Sometimes breakfast places can feel chaotic, but this was a nice calm place to enjoy. Very nice and cozy vibes. Francine was our server and she was amazing. Very sweet and attentive. Parking is pretty small but I was able to find some quickly. You might miss the place if you're going too fast on the road so make sure to look out for it next to some apartments or small homes. My kids loved their food. They had the chicken tenders and Mac and cheese. I was debating on getting the steak and eggs but I'm always wary on getting steak at diners since they're usually either too small or not cooked exactly how I'd like. The reviews for the country fried steak was always beaming so I had to try, and I'm glad I did. It was more than I expected and I would be happy to come back whenever I'm in the area. My family and I came here for some brunch around 10:30, and luckily we got in by that time because it was BUSY after! The whole restaurant wasn't too big but decently sized for many average sized parties can fit there. We had a wonderful server, she attended to us even on rush hour. I ordered the eggs Benedict sub ham with bacon, and a side of home style potato's. I liked the potatoes but unfortunately the eggs benedict wasn't the best, the hollandaise sauce wasn't the best and the bacon was way too small compared to the biscuit. My other family got the waffle and eggs, egg burrito and corn beef hash, which they enjoyed nicely but the corn beef hash came from a can so it was good but not entirely. The waffle was delicious and fluffy along side the eggs, while the burrito was fulfilling and tasty. We would like to come here again, I have no idea if we will but maybe in the near future. I would recommend if you like simple choices, other than that you may want to try the food to determine if it is worth it. read more

We had a large group Saturday and the entire wait staff was amazing! They brought out more seating for our group, drinks came out quickly and food orders went in promptly. I ordered the jalapeño hash, it was not the best hash I ever had and so looking forward to trying other things on the menu. Will definitely be back! It's a very clean greasy spoon which I say as a compliment . I had never been there and happy to say that the food was plentiful and very tasty. It's relatively convenient to the 15 freeway and the leftovers from the 'Pegah's skillet' was equally good as a large burrito the next day for breakfast. My eggs benedict came out very slow, the taste for the meal was very dry and bland. I live in the RB-RPQ-4S-Poway area and I had to go out to Escondido to find amazing breakfast food, decently priced and with excellent customer service! Our waitress, Francine was super accommodating and friendly. She was on top of it, asking if we needed anything else and recommending dishes, she truly made our experience a wonderful one, so much we had to come back the next day! It is a medium size place with a bit of parking out front and on the sides. This place has a vibe of old breakfast places we used to visit while living in Florida, so it felt a bit nostalgic. Pegah's is not only one of the best restaurants in North County, I'll go so far as to say it's one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. There is a threefold reason why it's one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. They are: 1) consistently great and delicious food (breakfast or lunch); 2) friendly, attentive, and near family-like waitstaff that is inviting; and 3) each customer is treated with the same red-carpet service and you can see the happiness when you scan the room. It's a great experience to come to Pegah's and anyone can tell you that. My wife and I have been coming here for the last two years and our weekend ritual always includes one meal at Pegah's. The hash browns are always made to order, the eggs are cooked perfectly (no matter the style), and the pancakes have that very difficult combination of good structure, not too sweet, and not too overwhelming. I would like to say they bake their own stuff too, but I might be mistaken. Largest and fluffiest English Muffin under the Benedict I have ever seen. UPDATE on 2/28/2019: Upgrading my review of Pegah's to 5-star. On each of my last four visits, the hash browns (and everything else) have come out perfectly. Not sure whether they regularly monitor social media feedback as closely as they typically did, but I've noticed a marked improvement over the last month in how the food looks coming out of the kitchen. As I mentioned in earlier review, the friendly service has always been top-notch. My only knock before was inconsistency on just a few menu items. Hopefully, with the apparent resolution of that, there's now nothing to complain about here. Just, quite simply, good eating at a good price with outstanding service. Enjoy! read more

On our way up to Temecula we decided to breakfast here. Yelp's search feature is great and I've got several highly rated breakfast/brunch places bookmarked just for occasions like this. Pegah's is located in Northern Escondido which is an older part of town. Pegah's Kitchen is inside a small unassuming building on the corner of a residential area. Inside, it was busy (Saturday morning) but we were seated within 10 minutes or so. Orders were taken quickly. I ordered the special: Banana stuffed French toast with eggs and sausage. Food came out quickly and the dish and service were great. I love supporting these little local diners, they're holding onto a little piece of history, something most chains aren't doing. read more
