Went here on Memorial Day as we were visiting family for the long weekend. I called ahead of time to secure a reservation. They said they didn't do reservations, but they said they'd see how things go, but no promises. When we arrived they had our table ready. Much appreciated. The menu was plentiful but not enormous. The food was worth the stars this restaurant receives. The waitress staff also went out of their way to accommodate us despite the challenges of a larger group. I had high hopes for this place because it's got such high ratings. I'm not the area but we came in for an appt nearby and searched a highly rated breakfast spot. I ordered the BOA omelette and my daughter ordered the Nutella and banana stuffed French toast. She was happy with her choice, but unfortunately I had pieces of my toast that were burnt to the point where I couldn't eat it. The avocado on my omelette also had pieces of that stem part at the top of the avocado, part of the seeds, along with the none of the cheese melted and was extremely thick. Overall it wasn't appealing. The service we received was great but my food specifically wasn't good and I ended up barely eating any of it. I'd give 3.5 for the service but I probably wouldn't be back based on the food. read more

Well this is a first visit review. Restaurant is in a prime location. Parking can be a challenge as it is very close to a residential area and on a corner. We had to wait a few minutes outside as there was a wait on a Saturday. Service was very good. We had a waitress named Francine. She was very attentive to our needs. We were greeted by a nice gentleman at the front of restaurant. We were sat promptly after our wait. Food was delicious, had a wonderful omelette with bacon and avocado, per Francine's recommendation. The pancakes are super delicious also This will be return a return to spot!! I have been eating at Pegah's from the first day they opened the Escondido location. Probably twice a week on average. I LOVE everything about this place. They have quality food, great service, and a competitive price. When I decided to write this review, I looked through some of the others and was astounded by some of the negative comments. Overpriced? This is one of the most competitively priced quality breakfast restaurants I've been to (everything went up coming out of COVID). A complaint about Francine? She is absolutely one of our favorites, and has always treated us in a very friendly manner, efficiently, competently, and with a great sense of humor. I can't understand why anyone would ever be critical of her or this restaurant. I found myself asking if this was the same place I go to? If you happen to be looking for a great breakfast restaurant in the Escondido area, I unreservedly recommend Pegah's. PS their Chicken bacon melt is to die for! read more

I like this Pegah's better than the other one in San Marcos. The employees are nice here, and the art (paintings) on the walls are copies of famous pieces, all matching the same vibe and time period. I really loved looking at the art while eating. The food was good too. The potatoes were especially delicious. The restaurant was super busy when I came in on a Sunday morning, but shocking they got a table for 4 people within 15 minutes! Yay! Our total was $80 (before tip) for 4 adults. Expect to spend at least 20 bucks per person. The restrooms were pretty small and tight though...not really the most wheelchair accessible. read more

My wife liked her Strawberry Cream Cheese French Toast. You get 1 side so she added bacon. But to add eggs (2 is the only choice), it's $4 more. The food is fantastic, and at reasonable prices considering the cost of other food spots has skyrocketed. Staff is extremely patient, friendly and attentive. Sometimes the simple things are the hardest to pull off right, it's the details that make them really special. They pay attention to the details here, and it matters. Eggs poached just right. Perfectly crispy hash browns. Corned beef hash with that lightly crusty griddle sear. The details. And holy cow those English muffins are good. Thick and bready with a perfectly grill toasted top. I had to ask if they baked them there from scratch. Apparently they buy them from a local bakery. Delicious. Service was excellent. The coffee was good. It had the bustle of a popular place. My new to go spot! My dine in experience was amazing. I walked in and was greeted quickly by Cynthia. I told her my legs were sore from the gym. She smiled and gave me the best booth in the house. As I sat in the cozy booth and looked at the menu. I was attended by Francine with a smile, she went over the whole menu patiently. I was so hungry and she recommended me the bacon burger. It was a very busy day and I saw a another worker. Her name was Divanya, I politely asked her I wanted to try different condiment besides ketchup. Divanya stopped what she was doing and told me they have a amazing ranch sauce. I accepted. She walked over and poured me a creamy ranch sauce in a cup. She asked me a follow up question. "Do you like it?" I nodded my head and agreed. She smiled and walked away. As I ate my burger with the creamy ranch sauce I was satisfied instantly with my first bite. The staff is always great but ... not the food quality. I just left and have to let people know that the quality of melas here is hit and miss. I arrived an hour before closing and ordered 4 eggs OM and "home style" potatoes. In short - the eggs were overcooked (not runny like OM should be) and the potatoes were very dry and the biggest thing - had single chip of green pepper while it should have had onions and peppers. No onions at all on the potatoes. I was never asked how my meal was and I had decided not to say anything unless asked. So I paid $13 for a totally mediocre breakfast. The $4 decaf coffee was ok. Probably won't go back after going many times over the past 10 years. Just not worth it anymore. read more

This was my first visit here, but it won't be our last! Food was delish! I ordered the special omelette with mushrooms and sausage, extra crispy home fries, and French toast for my toast, as suggested by our waitress. This actually worked out perfectly because I couldn't decide between French toast or an omelette. The home fries were so good that I devoured them first. They were gone in a millisecond! Next, I started in on the Texas French toast. The waitress even gave me some peanut butter as requested. It was one slice cut in half, but was more than enough to satisfy my French toast craving. And lastly, I tried eating my omelette, but at this point I was so full that I couldn't finish it. It was just as good if not better the next morning and I was happy to have some leftovers. My husband even tried it and said it was very good. Next time I visit Pegah's Kitchen, I plan on trying a lunch entree and I hope for the same quality of food and service. Our waitress was good and kept our drinks filled and continued to check on us throughout our meal. Prices were average and there is ample parking. I was so blown away with our experience this morning. We had no wait to sit outside. Our waitress was one of the best waitresses we've had in a long time. I wish we got her name. She was super friendly and very attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious. Best country fried steak I've had, so flavorful and the steak wasn't smothered in gravy, just enough. The California Benedict was equally delicious. Huge portions. Even the coffee was on point. We can't wait to come back.
