I don't drink coffee anymore, but I love tea and my husband likes a cup of decadent hot chocolate once in a while. My service dog is a medical alert dog, which means her nose is the best and her memory is tops. So, I can't walk past a Peet's without her wanting a pup cup. And, I won't get one unless I order something. My husband was in the hospital for two months and is slowly recovering. He wanted a hot chocolate and I was running errands at Red Hill. My last stop was Peet's. We didn't get a foot or paw in the door before the man behind the counter yelled out that no dogs were allowed. I asked him for the chocolate and a pup cup and put my very sad Husky in the car. I went back to pay and waited for our order. I get it. Lots of people try to bring dogs in and it is a food establishment. But, he could have been more kind. I should say that my dog will walk past any other coffee shop except Peet's and we are rarely at Red Hill, so I don't think he is representative of the chain of stores. read more

The people that work here are really great. It's always very crowded which doesn't make much sense to me because it's very small inside and not a very comfortable space. I ordered a breakfast sandwich it was very underwhelming. I would rather support a local coffee shop. The prices here are way too high for the quality. Glad there was a Peet's near Sir Francis Drake High School. I was there for 5 water polo games for my son. Too early for a Sunday for me. Short lines at 9:30 am. I am a regular at Pete's coffee in Dublin, however, this location has staff that do not take their job seriously. The staff on duty was giving the wrong order to the wrong customer, no labels or names on the drinks, gave my husband a wrong order, overfilled my coffee- causing it to spill and leak hot coffee all over despite the lid being secured. This isn't my regular Peets location, but stopped in for the free drink special today. Ordering was no line, but a longish wait for the drink. They were understandably crowded today. Iced chai latte was perfect, and you can't beat FREE! Want to give a shout out to all the employees that worked today. They never seemed stressed or overwhelmed. Pete's has the best coffee around and have been around for a long time, starting up in North Berkeley in 1966. They know coffee! Also, I have never had bad service whether in Marin, Berkeley or SF. They also have great pastries and nut and Oat milk for those who are Vegan or lactose intolerant. read more

I'm a Vietnam veteran who stopped by Peet's in San Anselmo for a free drip coffee on VETERANS DAY. I bought 2 baked good items and then I asked if Peet's was offering a free coffee on Vets Day. The employee said NO, I said I will get my free coffee at Starbucks. Peet's web site stated on Vets day they were offering a free drip coffee for vets at participating locations. I can only assume that San Anselmo Peet's choose not to participate or the employees was misinformed. I will not support this Peet's in the future. It's not about getting a free drip its the principle that this Peet's does not support Vets on Veterans Day. read more

I'm not one to review chains (especially coffee shops), but I felt inclined to review this particular Peet's location because they're so pet-friendly. I had a coffee mtg. here the other day, and the good folks at Peet's put out a large water bowl for my pooch. Now that I'm a dog owner, I'm surprised to discover the number of businesses who refuse to cater to their clientele's furry companions. After all, dog owners make up like 75% of the Marin population! So props to to you, Peet's, for going above and beyond to make me and my pooch feel welcome. All that aside, this San Anselmo Peet's should be commended for consistently serving strong coffee with a smile. I will continue to come here for my caffeine fix. Keep up the good work, guys. The baristas were friendly, and I enjoyed my salted caramel macchiato. I think this is a great place to relax a while and have a chat. However, don't stay too long, because when this place is crowded, other customers might get mad at you for hogging the space. Not the friendliest. And what's with asking me if I want 2% milk, and then when I say give me the fattest thing you have, you say whole milk? There was no response when I suggested whipped cream twice, either from the woman at the counter or the guy who made my drink. I ordered a maple latte and it was cloyingly sweet, so instead of having it for the drive home, I had to wait and doctor it (with half and half, thank you very much), turning it into a maple-y cafe au lait. I would have given it two stars, but since this was my first (though likely last) visit, I realize this could have been a busy Saturday morning fluke. I live near this Peet's so it's the one i go to. For some reason in 2014 & 2015 this place had a knack for messing up my orders. Not sure why but it always seemed to happen. Can't tell you how many times i had to drive back or go to a different location (because i was driving) and exchange it. I haven't had this problem at all in 2016. Good coffee, friendly and pleasant staff. A little expensive on the crafted coffees (mochas, hot choc etc.) Peet's has a nice atmosphere and it's a lovely place to chill with a coffee while I work on my laptop. The free wifi is great! On one occasion a musician ordered a coffee, grabbed a seat, took out his guitar and played a few tunes and it was lovely! Thoroughly enjoyable. read more

Such amazing baristas! Totally understand my craziness!! My new go to!!!!!!!! They aim to please.

It really isn't that hard to make a good iced vanilla latte, but this Peet's location always manages to mess it up. They often don't put vanilla in, put wayy to much in, don't use the correct kind of milk etc. etc. Today I was sitting by the barista and watched her use the wrong kind of milk. She also used old steamed milk/foam in the latte, too lazy to just take 10 seconds and do it properly. The spoonful of foam in an iced latte is supposed to be freshly made - not sitting out on the counter all afternoon FYI Peet's. She was talking to her manager or coworker the whole time, and was apparently too busy to do her job correctly. Starbucks was closed, and I didn't want to drive all the way out to Whole foods to get an iced latte. But this will be the last time I ever go to this Peet's Coffee - just an absolute waste of money and horrible service. read more

I have been going here for years and yesterday I was appalled at one of the newer employees who was rude and condescending. I felt I needed to write this review. I do not want to impact any of the long term employees and newer ones in the last year. His name is Gabe and I went out of my way to write down his name from badge.
