Glad there was a Peet's near Sir Francis Drake High School. I was there for 5 water polo games for my son. Too early for a Sunday for me. Short lines at 9:30 am. There was one customer in front of me and two customers behind me. I decided to order online. It was quicker, but orders came out faster for people who ordered from the counter. It's okay. Not too bad of a wait. Friendly service. Nice ambience. Clean. Smaller Peet's that others I've been too.

Ordered a double espresso and paid almost $4 for it - before a 25 + % tip. The amount of espresso was minuscule. I order these all the time elsewhere. This was no more than a single shot. Disappointed and dissatisfied. What a rip off!

TTR! Easy to spot in the Red Hill Shopping Center (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Dz0TLLU5vxW2lT-F_k0F5A?select=41fVOD8OzNmZRCWY-6Q_nA), it's a perfect rest stop on the way from the Golden Gate Bridge to West Marin. Pretty much the midpoint between the GGB and the Point Reyes-Tomales Bay area. The roads getting here are also more straight, the "scenery" ever-changing, unlike the windy and static view from taking Hwy 1. Brightly lit (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Dz0TLLU5vxW2lT-F_k0F5A?select=F3fDWtqNxM1VRQAO4J_zGg) with typical embroidered tapestry (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Dz0TLLU5vxW2lT-F_k0F5A?select=6muymTgd8TXjp3sKUMVgDw). Liked the place enough to stop by again on the way back from Tomales Bay Oyster Farm, to rest and sit outside (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Dz0TLLU5vxW2lT-F_k0F5A?select=-_4gHHpDVrfhwBKMq9fSYA) enjoying the warm sunshine before facing the City fog. Be aware that there are two ordering registers to speed things along. However, with a products display and a support beam blocking the registers, it was difficult to know where any line begins or ends.

There's street parking, but we parked across the street in the lot by the music shop (it's closed on weekends, which makes it even easier). Zero stress before carbs -- we love to see it. It has that super local, neighborhood energy where everyone clearly knows exactly what they're ordering before they even walk in. Always a good sign. The bread basket? Unreal. The soup was divine -- comforting, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a cozy day. And the bread somehow manages to feel indulgent and wholesome at the same time. Warm, hearty, and clearly made with care. The space itself is just as inviting -- warm, relaxed, and effortlessly charming. And the pastries... they looked dangerous in the best way. I didn't even get one this time, which honestly just means I'm definitely coming back for round two. Already planning my next visit.

My "Soft Scramble" was a pile of astonishment. It was so unrefined that it was an insult the the ingredients. There was nothing soft about the eggs, they were overcooked. The only thing soft on the plate was the watery run-off from the vegetables they heaped into the eggs: Too many chewy mushrooms and HUGE. Too many cherry tomatoes. I had to dig to find the eggs. The leeks were strips of inedible ribbon. The toast? I think it had been toasted yesterday and left on the top of their oven overnight and then reused today. I had to get up from the table and ask for butter to make it edible and still I worried whether I was going to break a crown. The pickled vegetables? Again, HUGE, hard and barely pickled. I will refrain from criticizing the service because they are all unaware of the nightmare in which they are working. Bless their hearts. I was so sad and annoyed. People think they can buy a restaurant with recipes and wholesale accounts and staff and just run it, "business as usual" but they are wrong. I went in and asked if they had sold the restaurant and was told, "yes." I imagine some tech-bro's wife or some hedgefund community doodler wanted a pet project with zero idea about food or food quality or how to treat and retain employees because what happened to MHBB is astonishing. It's rude and insulting to anyone who opened this restaurant and put in their best to keep the name and claim to be catering to the same people. But then again, this is par for the course or, from my vantage point, everything wrong with what's happened in Marin in a nutshell. Faux authenticity. Zero care. This is now all about the money. I will never bother with it again.

This spot popped up pretty high, and funnily enough, my boyfriend--who doesn't live locally--had actually heard of it from a previous visit, so we decided to go for it. Right off the bat: huge win on logistics. There's a nearby parking garage with ample space, and parking is free on Sundays and holidays, which already put us in a good mood. The place was packed when we went (Sunday), but in the best way. It's honestly adorable--there's a small playground, multiple seating areas, and everything feels very thoughtfully put together. I don't usually gush over ambiance, but the furniture, layout, and overall warmth of the space really stood out. Cozy without being cramped, lively without being chaotic. There were three people working, one of them quite young, and while we didn't order food, I did get a matcha--and wow. It took a while to come out, but when I saw how they were preparing it, it all made sense. Unlike most high-volume spots that rush matcha, they actually take their time with the full process. The result? Easily top 10 matchas I've ever had. Fresh, clean, energizing in a way that felt genuinely good for my body--not jittery, just right. They do have pastries and a couple of food options, though the savory options didn't really tempt me personally. That said, I'd 100% come back just for the drinks and the space alone. There's just enough white noise to sit and work comfortably, and the ambiance makes you want to stay awhile. This is officially going into my coffee + work rotation.

I finally stopped in after many years of passing through this town. Super casual, I'd even say 'hippie' vibes. Seemed like more seating outside than inside, so not really a camper's spot. Lots of antique-y looking things inside and I wouldn't even doubt if this space was once a saloon. Looks like they still roast their own beans here, which is a unique draw. In one corner you can see this old mechanical contraption that screams the industrial age. No automatic digital readings here. It wasn't in operation the time I went, but I'd love to come back sometime when it is. Iced Coffee ($6ish/4*) Don't know what type of coffee they used but it was unique. It was both earthy with slight nuances of fruity. Lighter in body tho, as I usually prefer bolder and darker flavors in a cold coffee drink. Still not bad at all. Brownie ($5ish/2.5*) I got this to eat for a later time at a campsite, after dinner. I think I got it cuz it had walnuts, I love chocolate and nuts together. But this brownie was a let down chocolate wise. The lighter color kinda worried me at first and sure enough it just tasted like a brownie made with more brown sugar than chocolate. Also more dry and cake-y than it was gooey and moist. Upon paying I also noticed they had a ton of their coffee beans already packed in 1 pound bags laid out on their counter. I love grinding and brewing batches at home so I snagged a bag. Got a Bali Blue Moon ($21ish/5*) which I never had. And after several brews at home, I really like this bean and roast. I'd say this was medium dark in roast and has great coffee notes and structure. Next time I roll through town, I'm definitely gonna snag another coffee drink to try and another pound of coffee from another origin. Makes me stoked that I'm always gonna leave with a nice parting gift after a roadtrip.

The shop is segemented into 3 connected sections; the main room where orders are taken, crafted, and served along with bags of coffee beans. The connected room had shirts, sweatshirts, and a fridge with grab n go items. The back room, had a few vintage pinball machines along with some tables and chairs.
