I placed an online order at this location 9.22 at around 9 am. When I got there my drink was warm instead of iced I asked the barista about it and she told me they could we make it but I needed to be careful next time when ordering not to make a mistake. She said that's it loud enough that other customers watched our interaction. Once my new drink was made another priest I gave it to me with a look of disapproval when the original barista told him I was a remake. The original barista apologized to me that the drink was wrong and I thought things would end well. But when I reached to grab a straw somehow my jacket touched a cup of coffee and it fell off the table and down my legs and all over my feet. The barista looked beyond annoyed with me and I said how sorry what it was and I wasn't sure how it happened. I went to grab napkins in the barista told me to "just leave it" with an angry tone. I was never asked if I was OK or hurt despite hot coffee dripping down my legs. From start to finish I was treated with an attitude and never with grace. I love Peet's but this experience has made me no longer want to support this location or even the company if this is how staff is trained to respond to customer issues. I manage 30 employees in customer service and if they behaved like this I would know there was a major need for retraining. I did receive superficial burns and was incredibly embarrassed. I'm sad this happened at one of my favorite coffee shops. I contacted customer service and all they told me is that they would reach out to the manager of this location to address the situation. Drinks are consistently bad. I always find myself having to stir my drink after I get it because they never seem to mix them properly. Service is lacking as well. A lot of the time the staff comes off as if they are unhappy to be there. I'm going to stick to my usual locations, probably not coming back to Lafayette Peets. read more

This is by far the worst Peet's I've been to. I love Peet's but now go to Starbucks or Peet's in Walnut Creek. The service is so slow, it's ridiculous, and management's done nothing to correct this problem. They have an open register or two yet no one to staff it. They run out of coffee frequently, leading to longer wait. It's as if they're surprised that people come in and want coffee. read more

This Peet's is a great central meeting spot for having a coffee with friends or business associates. I have enjoyed interacting with the employees here. They are super kind and fun to talk to, and at least a few of the baristas feel like "old timers." The coffee shop is clean - it can get crowded at peak times and seating can be challenging to find. They carried ham and cheese croissants for awhile (and still might) that were amazing. Coffee is really delicious, and the coffee accessories and gifts section contains a lot of unique, interesting items that I like to browse if I'm in line waiting to order a drink. read more

This is my husbands preferred stop when we pass through that tunnel on the way to his mom's, his sister's, my sister's, or my dad's. It is an easy stop off the freeway and it has that homey feeling like everyone is a regular. It's Peets. They have the best coffee and tea beverages! I use to be able to drink their coffee but had to give it up about a year ago because of a stomach problem - boy do I miss it. That doesn't stop me from going to Peets. I like the teas! The Jasmines are terrific. I like it being served in the little white pot - it particular "the Special Jasmine" that looks like a flower blooming in the hot water. The aroma of the tea is great too. In the summer they offer a cooled version of the Jasmine tea with a little sweetener, lemon and ice- very refreshing. Lafayette Peets is a great location - feels alive and happy with people strolling by. A great place to meet a friend and enjoy afternoon tea. read more

This is your standard Peet's - good coffee and tea, but I have to give it two stars because there is always a long line and the internet is slooooooooow. The bathrooms also tends to be out of order and barista's suggest you go next door to Chipotle or Noah's Bagels, which makes me feel weird since I didn't actually purchase anything from these places. Overall, it's a fine place if you want to go grab a coffee on your way to work, but you probably don't want to stay long enoguh to fight for a seat and wait for your email to load. read more

They are really nice behind the counter, explaining new blends and offering samples. This is the best coffee roaster in town. I certainly pefer them over Starbucks. The customers are sometimes a bit different, or shall we say they are upset they have to breathe the same air as you and me. That whole shopping area is uber-hectic and Type A. I got my coffee fix here while I was in California visiting family. They made really good iced americanos for me every time I came in and were super friendly and quick in the process :). I like the service here because they actually smile and if they can't get to you right away, they say something nice like, "I'll be right with you" or "Good morning". It can get busy, but they are more efficient than most places and a smile goes a long way for this coffee lover. read more

I came here this past Sunday to get a quick fix before my cousin's baptism. Once I placed my order it took about 3 minutes before my mocha was made. There was a long line and they cranked through customers like nothing. I like how a small coffee gets two shots of espresso. The mocha was made perfect and it got me ready for the day. read more

I like this location a lot. Its close to school, and the atmosphere is pleasant and undisturbing. The music is always classical, a great one to appreciate when listening, and to tune out if needed. The people here are quite obliging, always offering their best possible services. The lemon rose tea is my obsession, one not many know about. Shhh! I just spent 10 minutes in the coffee bean line with one person in front of me being served. The barista was chatting her up while preparing 1/2 # of ground coffee for her. There was no one behind me when I got in line, there were 5 folks behind me when I finally got the attention of the barista. I asked for 1# of Sumatra whole beans and was told they were out. Their signs still indicated that they had Sumatra for sale. This is the second time this has happened to me at this store in the past two months. I am still baffled that when they decided to remodel this space they did not seek a larger store.. apparently this is the busiest store in the entire chain.. now for the coffee.. i dont think it is as good as it used to be.. I am OBSESS with the lafayette Peets! They have been really consistent with the quality of my drinks, especially the Peppermint Mochas! Not only do they offer their drinks at an affordable price (well cheaper than Starbucks that's for sure) AND they provide coupons! I mean I got a large holiday beverage for like $4!! That's a small at Starbucks! And oh, don't get me started with the Moraga Starbucks guys. It's really horrible and they really do not care about your drinks! The only cons I would say is that they do not have an oven to warm up your biscuits and cookies )-: which is a real bummer because who likes to eat it cold and hard? Also, I wish they had a location in Moraga! Sometimes the traffic just sucks going down Mt. Diablo and I just rather avoid that any way I can! read more

12/16/2020 approximately 6pm. Two males and one female were working. The female that was working was clearly not having a good night. It was apparent because she had an attitude talking with the males that were working and was upset that I ordered a Black Tea fog. I was given a hibiscus shaker instead and I mentioned that I ordered a Black tea fog. She told her coworkers multiple times that they do not make those anymore and I mentioned that I ordered one last week and didn't know it was an issue and wouldn't have ordered it if I knew. They said that they don't have the ingredients (the concentrated black tea if I heard correctly) I said that regular black tea would be fine and probably taste as great. She finished making a different drink I also ordered and proceeded to throw the straw on the counter. I asked if I did anything wrong because she threw the straw. She said she was sorry I perceived it that way... that is exactly how I perceived it. Straws do not make a thump noise when they are placed on the counter, if she had done that. The drink ended up tasting just fine but just didn't appreciate the attitude and the throwing of the straw. Totally not necessary. read more

Let me start off by saying that I have been a HUGE Peets fan since my first experience. I have been advocating Peet's superiority over Starbucks and other coffee shops for years. BUT STOP GETTING LAZY. PUT FOAM IN "EVERY" ICED DRINK. I AM TIRED OF HAVING TO ASK FOR EXTRA FOAM. IF I WANTED TO ASK FOR FOAM, I WOULD GO TO STARBUCK (across the street, in Safeway, or down the road) There are a variety of reasons that Peets is so great: employees are more knowledgable about coffee, they serve better coffee, and in general they make better drinks. One of the areas that Peets has always dominated (especially over Starbucks) is iced drinks. Years ago I was introduced to Peets iced latte. The ONLY thing that really set it apart from any other iced drink is the delicious FOAM. I fell in love instantly. Every other coffee place I went to (including Starbucks) I tried to ask for foam, and they looked at me like I was crazy. Oh well, I thought, at least I have Peets. But not anymore. Peets has been getting lazy. I have been patient, but I just can't take it anymore. So here is your heads up Peets: GET IT TOGETHER. The only thing that separates you from everyone else is the care and attention given to every drink. I know some baristas are better than others. But this is for the managers: Make sure the baristas are doing their job. And please, please, please don't make me have to ask for foam in my iced drink again. read more

Five stars for coffee and wonderful staff; one star for dropping the loyalty free drink with $25 card, then by stopping a 10% discount for a month so now I feel loyalty isn't appreciated and I'm reminded of it every purchase. Why is the thermostat control in another state? Why is the restroom always dirty and I'll-equipped with supplies? Why is the wifi so iffy, slow and limited on capacity? I love Peets coffee and store people, but corporatism is dragging it down. Update 4-18-16: the outside restroom has been cleaned and painted and is now acceptable. 'Bout time. Temp inside Peets also seems comfortable most of the time now, and wifi seems to be more reliable. Even that bad electrical outlet has been fixed. Hooray! On the other hand, I tried one of the new breakfast uh, things and found it about 1/2 the thickness of the picture and tasteless. Also, expensive, as are most of Peets food items. Nearly $3 for a muffin? Needs some corrections. Coffee and people, as always, are excellent which is why I bother to offer suggestions to make it all better. Took my good friend from out of town to this Peet's. The service by one "Cameron" fellow was excellent! She ordered an almond milk chai and I had a latte, both were out in a timely manner and tasted great. This is a great study spot too! read more

I have always loved Peet's, great people, great coffee. They just got Almond Milk, I am so excited! I have been on JJ Virgin diet, so no sugar and no dairy and no soy.
