This is my neighborhood coffee house so of course I'm going to give it preferential treatment. The funny thing about this location is that it doesn't feel like a chain cafe. The staff in here is always friendly and prompt, I never see anyone slacking. It's very clean; they take the trash out regularly so you don't have to try to stuff your mocha cup in the top of the garbage fearful that it will spill on the floor the second you step away. There's wi-fi, although there's only one table that's next to an outlet, so charge your laptop before you come in. The outdoor seating is nice for the summer time, there's plenty, and folks like to bring their dogs. Half the time that I come in, I'm too caffiene-deprived to realize that I ordered my drink without soy milk, and they always remember to ask me when this happens. I've never had a drink made wrong either. Their cookies are awesome, and they actually carry vegan pastries, unlike any coffee house I can think of that's local. Try their vegan ginger or the vegan oatmeal cookies, they're delicious. My favorite drink is a medium soy latte with only one shot of espresso; the ratio comes out tasting like a golden graham. read more

Great location right on Todos Santos Plaza and it's very nearly always busy, so they must be doing something right. I've never, not once, in the many times that I've come here, ever had poor customer service, so props to the hiring manager because you picked some excellent baristas. I can also usually find a place to sit, even if it ends up being outside. The only qualm I have is the set up of seating and the line for coffee, they seem to always be too precariously close to one another. I'm not sure how I would have designed the space any better, but there you go, nothing's ever perfect. On the whole 90% of the drinks I get here are good to great. There's an occasional "not as great" beverage now and then, but then again, I'm a bit of a latte snob (though I never complain or carry on about it, it is just coffee after all). So in short: good location, great staff, and good drinks. read more

The couple of times I have been by recently, I was temporarily stranded with my dog. I'm glad they had sufficient overhangs above outside tables; even when raining, one can take cover with hot coffee outside. Their coffee was hot, tasted great and seemed very fresh. I hadn't managed to get there until the afternoon but the coffee was great. It is very small and awkward space wise inside so it can be crowded when busy, but overall I appreciate this location and their outside chairs. read more

No doubt this is the lowest rated Peets on Yelp. Want to talk about rude employees Mr Matthew has attitude that is unbelievable. I can't even imagine him making me a coffee after he was super rude to me at the cash register then he tells me I disrespected him. How's this work he is a complete ass to me then when I respond back, then I'm told I'm being disrespectful. So after he handles the transaction tell me I disrespected him he is then going to make me a Latte? I don't think so just asked for a refund and walked out. That's the worst experience ever in getting coffees in over 20 years. This store is rated subpar on Yelp for a reason today I found out why. read more

I wanted to take a minute to write another review. Its been months since my last one and again I am just as happy and impressed with the staff at the Downtown Concord Peets on Salvio street. The manager Cindy is so kind. She really cares about her customers and her staff. You just don't see that other places.. I have traveled to all of the other Peets during y work meetings etc and there is no other store that makes you feel at home, welcomed and a feeling of a community that DT. Concord. I will sit in traffic and search for that one last parking spot for Peets Coffee. Tonight was no different. I had a long drive home and was hungry. However I didn't want to stop for food and just needed some strong coffee to get me where I was going. Quick, friendly service from the kid behind the counter with the anti-facist symbol from the Weimar Republic tattooed on his arm hit the spot. The coffee was fresh and strong as expected. The clean bathroom was good too since its not easy these days to find public restrooms. To top it all off, there was a great used book store just up the street where I found two great books at reasonable prices. In the end, Peets Coffee came through and made driving through traffic and searching for that one last parking spot well worth the effort. read more

This Peets used to have two bathrooms. For some inexplicable reason they permanently shut one of them down and the second one has been out of order for the last 4 days. This is ridiculous. If you have two bathrooms you should have at least one of them up and running for the customers at all times. What do you expect customers to do, walk down the street until they are lucky enough to find a place that will let them use their bathroom?? There is no excuse for your bathroom to be out of order for this many days. I wish there was a manager here who would take this seriously & would see it as part of their responsibility to resolve this issue QUICKLY & make sure there is always a working bathroom for customers. I ordered a Soy iced Vanilla Latte, and honestly it was the worst latte I've ever had. I love Peet's coffee but idk about this location. Although I will say the location was very clean and most of the staff were very friendly except the barista, she looked annoyed & was very unwelcoming. Peet's coffee itself is one of my favorite coffee places to help me get through the day and specially at this location, but unfortunately it's service is not quite there. This morning I went to go get my coffee as the usual and I had a free coffee coupon which I wanted to use. The cashier seemed nice but as I was trying to use my coupon she had an attitude, it was my first time using the coupon and I wanted to add food so I did it separately, I wanted to give her my phone number to get my points and she said "next time order it all together" and she said to check in on my phone which I was very confused. She repeated herself about three times and each time she did her attitude was growing. You were able to tell she was frustrated but I didn't say anything, I proceeded to add my food and as we were closing my order off she rolled her eyes. I wish I remembered her name! This is one of my favorite spots for a coffee-jolt. Real coffee for real Yelpers in a sea of suburbia. Easy free parking on the street and with the free City lots (except for Thursday evenings with the Summer concerts and Farmer's Market,) close to Half-Priced Books, and smack in the middle of downtown Concord and Todo Santos Park. Nice dark roasted coffee served by speedy and friendly staff. Great for a leisurely weekend morning or topping off your evening supper. read more

Not my favorite location. This is the only Peet's that won't add Splenda to my drink. Normally its not a problem but its almost impossible to wade through the packed tables to get to the Splenda. Baristas are super condescending but the cashiers are sometimes friendly. Drinks are decent but service is below par. read more

I just had the worst experience of any Peet's coffee I had ever been to here. I don't visit this location every day, but I do come here a couple times a week. I am a paying customer. I was sitting down studying for my classes and messaging some friends to come down to meet me, when all of a sudden, the manager Patty sat down at my table and said that one of her employees (who I once had a friendship with a long time ago, but no longer) was uncomfortable with my being in the store, even though I was not even aware that this employee was working there. I didn't do anything at all. I was simply drinking coffee and studying. Then, she says, "I am going to have to ask you to leave." She explains the situation. I explain I have done nothing wrong. "This is non-negotiable," she says. "What have I done?" I ask again. "You just have to leave." For what? For nothing. For some personal grudge an employee has with me over something that has nothing at all to do with anything I was doing in the store. I was merely sitting down, doing my school work. This is seriously messed up. It's not really a wonder why this location has less than four stars. They do not care about their customers. In fact, there are so many homeless people around this Peet's that get treated with free coffee and free pastries all the time (when the managers are not on duty), meanwhile I am a paying customer and I am kicked out for no reason at all. My order was wrong: I was presented with iced chai latte instead of hot chai latte. I waited for a redo and then it didn't have enough of the chai flavor that I wanted. It literally tasted like hot milk. She was not pleasant and said, "well, you ordered a small and that is how much chai there is. I'd have to make you a new one." Didn't feel as if she handled it too friendly, and I guess their Chai lattes lack in flavor. read more

In my opinion, this Peet's is a bit small or maybe just lacking in outlets. All the outlets are against the wall and there is very limited wall seating. Of the Peet's in the Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and Concord area, this one has become my favorite. Drinks are always spot-on, the music isn't too loud (I especially love the jazz!), the cashiers are always friendly, and it's well air-conditioned. Parking is pretty easy too. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, but it doesn't feel cramped. As a side note, I'm a Peet's Barista at an Oakland location. Because of this I can tell you that they really know how to make their drinks! I won't get into the nitty gritty details of previous bad drinks I've had at other locations, but I will tell you that the drinks I've ordered here have always been made to perfection. This location's Baristas and cashiers evoke experience and great training from their manager(s) and shift leads. read more

The staff albeit friendly and nice is HORRIBLY lacking when it comes to multi tasking and getting drinks out in a orderly fashion... I want to go back there ; make my own damn coffee and get out.
