My stylist, Stacia Sanchez moved over to Pearle Studios. She's been my stylist for a couple of years now. Stacia is very knowledgeable in her field, a great colorist and uses great products, such as aloxxi color, aloxxi shampoo aand coditioner and olaplex addons. My hair is pretty dry and color damaged but after I see Stacia and get the treatment, you would never know! Looks like the hair of a 20 year old (and I am way beyond that age!) I've only been to Pearle once, but I think they use schwarzkopf color products which seem pretty good too. The end result is the same and I am very happy! Pearle is a pretty high end salon. Decor is nice and I feel like I have been pampered after I am all finished! Love the way Stacia cut my hair after it was dried - almost like a razor cut. I like how the scissors fly through my hair and the end result is a precision cut! Pearle has some cool products of their own too. Shampoos and conditioners with essential oils and someone there makes some really cool jewelry. It's all displayed once you enter the salon. The receptionist is very nice, and they have an array of beverages there while you are there. Also, some snacks on the coffee table. Very comfy waiting room! OH MY GOD!!!! Mercedes was a life savor! I wanted braids for Burning Man. The original person I had booked flaked out on me the day before I was supposed to leave for the Playa! I was slightly panicking but luckily one of my Airbnb house mates suggested this place to me! I couldn't be more happy! Mercedes does excellent work and was extremely patient with me when I couldn't hear her over the horrible static on my phone! All the staff I interacted with were extremely friendly and accommodating. Not only did I get fantastic braids I also got excellent Burning Man pointers! Ive gone to at least 8 different business in town and Kate is the only one Ive come across that can do a fierce A-line cut. The shop is so nice and inviting. I'm giving two instead of one just because they could get me in. However. Getting my eyelash extensions done made me so nervous. I had the gel eye patch feeling like it was in my eye on both sides. I had to get them both re-adjusted. If they get into the eye they can cause abrasions to the eye and make the eye very tender afterwards. I know for a fact she ripped some eyelashes out since it hurt so bad with the fill. I actually witnessed her ripping out some bottom lashes that got stuck to the top and have her tell me "oh those must be old" No. No they were not because it HURT. Then was informed that I should wear my contacts to my next appt if you look it up it actually tells you NOT too because glue can get on the contact. All in all, it makes me grateful for my other technician I will not be coming back and I'd be very weary when booking for lashes. She was nice but the amount of "how long I've been doing this" wouldn't mean such rookie mistakes. read more

This is my new favorite salon! My stylist was Carly G. and she did an AMAZING job with my hair. Not only had the layers of my hair grown out, it was a fried straw-like mess. After 2 previous attempts at blond highlights from a different salon, and spending too much time in the sun over the summer, it was a medium length shapeless blob. My goal was to get rid of the brasiness & return to my natural dark hair color. I asked her to add a dark purple underlay, so it wouldn't look bland and monotonous. She colored the top portion a rich dark brown, and bleached the under layers before adding a vibrant purple/red mix of color. Last year, I'd requested this same color mixture at 2 different salons, and none of the stylists figured out that they had to bleach my dark hair for the color to show up! This was the first time I actually got the results I wanted. After the appointment, I stopped at the grocery store, and 4 complete strangers complimented my hair. I'd highly recommend this salon & Carly G for a stylist. She actually listens to what you want done, and does it! On top of that, she was super fun to talk to and didn't have the stuffy off-putting attitude that many stylists seem to emanate. Normally, I dread getting my hair done, but this was a fun & relaxing experience. Oh, and this salon has the most comfortable chairs in town! You know when you have to lay back for the color rinse & shampoo, and it feels like your head is awkwardly dangling on the hard edge of the sink - that does not happen here. The chairs and sink edge are padded and soft, so you can actually sit back and relax. Love this place, and will definitely be back! read more

I love coming to pearle studios. I feel like it's a diamond in the rough, and my secret cool salon. The outside of the building is all black and so unassuming and parking could be better. But the second I walk inside it's this beautiful updated, well decorated p, trendy,clean salon. The front desk girls are very nice and always offer me a drink right away and they have little snacks on the table. I have a couple different stylists that cut my hair in there and so far I have no complaints. They cut and style my hair wonderfully. I have had my fair share of hairdressers because I'm extremely particular, she made me feel at ease and excited for once to get my hair done! I was referred by a friend to go to Amy A and I am beyond satisfied. She was very warm and welcoming and sooooo sweet! She was very understanding in my fears doing brown to blonde balayage highlights as I've had a horrible experience with an old salon before. She explained to me the process and told me everything she was putting in my hair. She also explained how my hair pulls red so we had to go in steps to make it lighter. My hair is dark brown and she wouldn't let me go blonde right away because it would harm it. So appreciative she cared about that! Amy is absolutely amazing and it's clear she knows what she's doing. We also did a cut and style to accent the dimension of the highlights. My next appointment is in a couple weeks because she wanted to give my hair time to "relax" before bleaching again. She did such a great job with my thick and wavy hair my first time in her chair, I kept going to her even though I lived a two hour drive away. Every time, she would remember both how I liked my cut done and the things we had talked about months ago. Very sweet gal to chat with, and she makes cool jewelry, too! I contacted Amy again after wanting to get my hair darkened a little because my first session was a bit to light. I also wanted to get a smoother blend/transition of my black roots because it had quite a hard contrast with my lightened hair. Once again I want to say Amy is the best hair dresser I've ever gone to. She not only re-colored my hair to a more natural color but fixed my roots as well. I've been going to Lindsey at Pearle for ... well, I guess a few years now. I was only getting a cut and style for awhile but decided it was time to go back to color, and Lindsey did a great job. I like a very subtle color, and she gave me exactly what I wanted; my teen likes a more dramatic color, and she did a great job with that as well. Additionally, if you get home and after playing around with your hair or living with it a day or two and don't like it for some reason, she has no problem having you come in and she'll tweak it for you (my daughter didn't like her first color and Lindsey toned it down for her - every other time has been great). I've been reluctant to write a review because I don't want all you Yelpers making it difficult for me to get appointments in the future, but I've got to give Pearle their due! They're in the middle of construction, expanding into the space next door, so if you go for a visit in the near future, don't be put off by the appearance in the waiting area. Also, when it's busy, parking can be a bit crowded - they have a lot, but it's small, and I often park on the street. read more

Only top of the line Quintessence I always love my nails when I leave and so does my husband he always compliments them and he doesn't care for nail designs! I also had my hair cut by Carleen, but that did not turn out as well. It was not a good cut at all. She cuts hair completely dry (or rather, scrapes it -- not much cutting involved). She did so much scraping that my hair looked like it had split ends all over -- stuck out like antennae all over my head. The cut was just unappealing. They have raised their prices to 65.00 per hair cut -- outside of our price range, unfortunately. We are looking for another hair studio as a result. read more

Terrible parking: the street and lot were haphazard, unorganized and crammed with cars, many parked illegally. Had to walk quite a way and this neighborhood is unsavory. It was a nice spring day but the salon was stiflingly hot. My aesthetician was late, did not check to see what my name was, basically asked for the new client. Over the bed, directly in the customers' eyes is a row of blinding halogen lights. Had my lip and brows waxed. Great job on the lip and I really loved the "special" wax she used. Aesthetician offered brow tint and I agreed. Ended up looking like Osama Bin Laden with huge black brows, the tint dyed my skin far outside the hairline of my brows. I don't see very well so I didnt realize the Groucho Marx-like effect was so extreme til I got home. Luckily I had color remover on hand and promptly remedied the situation. I go see Amy A and she does a phenomenal job, this review is directed towards Kyle. I'm guessing he just graduated beauty school and this is his first job and he has no clue what he is doing. My gf went in with faded black hair and wanted a blonde or pink ombré and he wasn't sure he could pull it off so they settled on red. The whole time he was acting frantic and uncomfortable like he was not sure what he was doing. My gfs hair turned out very stripey with color and damaged. She also asked for like half an inch off and her hair is so choppy it looks like I could have done better with cutting her hair. I would not recommend anyone seeing Kyle. There is a reason as to why everyone else is booked up weeks in advance and he has open slots. read more

Let me just start by letting you know that everyone who works at Pearle is a beauty. Carleen has been doing my hair for about a year or so now and I am happy every time. My hair is very difficult to manage. It's very thick and there's tons of it. Carleen took me on without a wince and has tamed my unruly locks. She found a way to thin my hair out and now I have a normal and lovely head of hair because of her. I love and look forward to my appointments with Carleen. She's has a wonderful artistic edge so I like to give her creative reign. She finds products that make my hair soft, healthy and smell good. When Carleen washes your hair, she massages your head which is so relaxing. After a half a glass of wine one is ready to melt into the chair! I've found many dyes make my scalp itch, but the products Carleen uses such as Alphaparf do not have that affect on me. One of the great things about Pearle is the location: Right off I-80 and Keystone on 7th Street. I'm thoroughly spoiled since I live right across the street from Pearle and don't even have to drive. I can drink wine, have a blast, get my hair done and walk home with no driving to worry about. Another bonus when it comes to Carleen is that she is constantly learning and on the up and up about new products because she is in the salon product selling industry. After moving to Reno last Dec & trusting a new stylist with my hair and having her completely fry it off, I decide to wait 10 months until it was longer & healthy again. I came to Pearle studio today & had Chantel as my stylist! She did an AMAZING job! Took me from a dark brown to an a carmel color with blonde highlights! It turned out exactly as the photo I brought in. She didn't chop it off when I asked for a trim like most stylists do. Nor did she double book herself & was running from client to client. The studio is clean and the staff are very attentive. The stylists give massages during washing and conditioning your hair. I have seen two different stylists: both were very personable, although one gave a better haircut than the other. The gal who waxes dies a great job, as well. The parking lot is tiny and confusing. I am never sure if I'm parking in a handicapped spot or not due to poor labeling of spots. Parking is quite dodgy and very few spots are available since the bank will tow your car. Neighborhood is a tad sketchy, as well, but that's beyond the control of the owners. Just keep that in mind when looking for parking. read more
