The past few weeks I've been thinking of cutting 3-5 inches off my hair. I made an appt the night before for Michelle. She was great at consulting me when I got there asking how long and any layers and informing me since I have curly hair the length cut is different. She started with an amazing hair wash and then did a wet cut of about 3-4inch. Then she blow dried my hair asking if I liked the length and front layers. I ended up opting to have another inch off. I left with my hair feeling so healthy and soft. This was my first professional haircut in 4 years (my sister usually trims my hair). I had a great time talking with Michelle she even considered my job (as a nurse) in the length of my hair due to me needing to put it up at work. I would 100% come back! read more

I just got my first haircut here. The stylist was in a hurry and I couldn't believe it that she finished cutting my hair in l less than 10 mins. There was not much cleanup done either. Water temperature for shampooing was way too hot despite me asking to lower the temperature a couple of times. I had to tell her everything including that my side burns were uneven. For the price tag these guys have for men's haircut ($50) this was one of the worst haircut experiences I have ever had. It felt like the hair dresser was doing a sloppy and hurried job because she had another appointment. Definitely not going back here ever again and don't recommend it for others read more

I have been coming to this salon for the past 4 years and I'll never trust anyone else with my hair. I commute almost an hour to get my hair done just because I love Courtney so much. When you first start seeing someone new for your hair, it's nerve racking. Courtney always makes me feel welcome and offers water or soda every time I come in. The space itself is so cute and cozy. It's an upscale area and the building itself is in a great location. I have never had a bad experience here. If you are a blondie or wish to get blonde than Courtney IS YOUR GIRL. She's so fun to talk to and laid back, there's never an awkward moment of silence. She's always patient with the hair process and pays attention to detail. Everyone here is so gracious and nice. I walk in and immediately greeted with a smile. My hairdresser Courtney offered my a beverage and took me to her cozy station. Courtney is just the sweetest gal and she did a great job on my hair, exactly as I requested with a little extra finesse! She doesn't typically do short cuts, but made an exception this time. Glad she did, because the time spent was easy going and non-rushed with the end result being a quality and stylish cut. I can't express how genuinely sweet she is! My wife has also got her hair cut and coloured by Courtney, and I can attest to what a great job she did there too. The salon itself is easy to find and decorated with class and comfort in mind. All the ladies were so attentive and lovely. Haven't been to salon for hair cut and colouring for awhile, I was so excited about the appointment I had with MG today. I came here the first time for full head highlight and hair cut, warm welcoming, salon is tidy and neat, first impression was pretty good. Service was nice too when I spent hours sitting in the salon, hairdresser did ask few times if I need something. (I remember my last salon experience in Cali, I had a 10am appointment, I didn't eat anything before I headed to salon. Whole experience took 5+ hours which I didn't expect, I was not asked if I need something to drink or bite.) Haircut is okay, one side is little bit longer than the other side tho. For the highlight that I paid for, I wish: 1. the colour would be closer to ashy and smoky colour that I requested (Currently it looks very orangey and more on a warm tone), I expect only two colour tones on my hair, original black and ashy highlight, very unfortunately, there are few colour tones incl. orangey, gold.. 2. highlights would be a lot thinner, look more natural and more consistent (Some of them are very thick, too bold), 3. full head highlight would be more complete, since there is no highlight on certain parts, e.g. fringe, inner session, and some of the highlights are more than an inch away from the root.. It doesn't look like full head, especially missing highlight on the fringe and inner session, if I tie up my hair, there is basically nothing to see. read more

I could not be happier with my first visit here! I sent Holly a couple of pictures of what I wanted about two weeks before my appointment. When I showed up, she knew exactly what I wanted. She asked me some questions about what I had previously done with my hair. I have never really given much thought about going to a salon like Michael Grace. I guess I just thought there wasn't much difference between a high class salon and a chain. I started seeing Jeanne a year or so ago for cuts and colors. She was always consistent and I was never disappointed! It doesn't hurt that she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. The game changer for me was when I took my 14 year old son to her. He has always struggled with self esteem and he wanted to make his hair that silver (anime/you tuber) color. I was nervous I'm not going to lie. It turned out amazing!!!! The best part came later when he told me he finally feels like himself and that he had never felt more confident! It's weird to put a bad review when I love my haircut but I will never go back! I had to most painful haircut of my life and I am not tender headed. My hair was pulled hard the entire time, comb scraping the skin on my head, fingers hitting my face and eyes, blow dryer hit my forehead. Unreal. The stylist didn't ask how I wanted my hair styled, just did it. Didn't speak the entire cut. I told her during that it hurt and she would say "sorry" and keep doing it. When I first sat in the chair she was violently combing and ripping my hair out even when I said "please stop, I feel like you're pulling really hard." She just keep doing it. At checkout, no one asked how the service was or if I wanted another appointment, just checked me out and said by. An unreal experience. read more

I was really disappointed with my last visit to Michael Grace Salon. I was on edge about posting this review because I've been coming here for quite a bit now, seeing the same hair stylist. I had nothing but good experiences in the past, however, when it comes to your hair something like this should be said. I wanted to lighten up my hair and get blonde highlights, I have done this many times before and it has never been a problem. I showed up to my appointment at 11:30 and did not leave until 5, which is fine highlights takes a while I get it. Around 3 she finished putting the foils in my hair, I liked how concise she was. When it came time to wash out the dye was when everything went down hill. I felt like my scalp was burning, I dont know if it was from the boiling hot water or the bleach. When I went back to the chair she starting brushing it out, my hair was very light. The ground was full of my hair, it would have looked like I had gotten a hair cut. Once it was dry she was ready check to me out, even though I asked if she could style it straight for me.. but whatever right it was late and we were tired of being there. I paid $180 + 30 tip. Little did I know once I got home my hair was blonde on some parts and grey on most parts of my head. She over toned my hair so now instead of a blonde I had grey sticky hair. Chunks of my hair were falling out... chunks. It has been over a week now and it is still falling out. My once thick healthy hair is now broken and falling out. It looks AWFUL. I now have to find a new salon that will cut my hair and fix it. I would expect this from box dye or trying to dye my own hair at home. I can't believe this is what I got out of a "professional" salon with a stylist known to do blondes well. read more
