I booked an appointment with Michael Grace salon and when I arrived I was greeted by a very sweet receptionist. She told me that Micaleigh would be with me in just a moment, Micaleigh introduced herself and took me to her station. She wanted to know what I wanted to do with my hair and I told her I wanted to color my white hair and do something "fun". She was very professional and took time with me which does not always happen at some salons. She put a beautiful color on my hair and I was thrilled with the outcome. I absolutely love this place! I have my hair done by Meghan. She always gets the color just right and is the voice of reason whenever I want to do something "different". Meghan tends to remind me that my goal of growing out my hair doesn't involve chopping it all off again:) The salon it's self is super cute. It has a shabby chic decor...very pinterest vibe. The staff are all very sweet and have a great attitude. The prices are that of an upscale salon, but, you get what you pay for. You shouldn't skimp on color and cuts. Micheal Grace also uses Bumble and Bumble products, which can be somewhat difficult to find in Reno. All in all, I love having an upscale salon near my house with great customer service and awesome products. I made an apt via the online tool and added a message that I wanted to do the "Lisa Renna" haircut/style. I booked the first available apt that fit my schedule. When I arrived I asked the stylist if she got my message about the style I wanted and she replied she didn't know who Lisa Renna was and had never seen the style. I pulled out my cell and showed her a lot of pictures and she said ok. I also asked for my hair to be donated since I was cutting off a long amount. We chatted while she cut and razored my hair. I started to feel something was wrong when the back of my head behind my ears felt like there was little hair left there. I had taken off my glasses and was pointed away from the mirror so I couldn't see what she was doing. She finished and I already knew that she didn't cut it to the Lisa Renna style I had showed her. I commented to her that since I informed her before hand of the style I wanted she should have looked it up. I even mentioned while she was cutting that there's a tutorial on YouTube but I can't cut my own hair. So now I'm left with this weird hair cut that is long on top, barely there behind my ears and like a duck tail in the center back of my head. She cut the back sides so short there's no way to fix this. I have to grow it out and that will take months! I'm so disappointed, about a month ago another stylist there cut off about 6" of my hair and did a really good job. I should have tried to book with her, but she didn't have anything available that would fit my schedule. read more

So someone recommended me with her hair lady Chanelle. So I contacted her and she set me up with an appointment for Monday June 25th at 5pm. I got there a little early and I texted her that I had arrived. The front desk girl also called her twice and no answer. I waited for half an hour and I didn't hear back at all so I left. This is terrible service and it is not cool to set up someone for an appointment and then just not show up or respond to messages or phone calls. I went straight there after work I was already tired and I was looking forward to my haircut but instead I was disappointed. I had my hair colored and cut. The gal was kind of shy but somewhat friendly. I got home and my roots looked bad. It looked like it was done two months ago and I spent 150:(. I called and got in again and she seemed put out to have to fix it. She ended up having to fix it two times while I was there and ended up putting triple dye on my hair in a matter of two days. The owner or manager was very nice and accommodating but after spending 4 hours of time trying to get it right, having my hair be pretty fried, and not really loving it...I would not recommend. I would recommend if you get a more experienced hair person because the management did really seem to care. read more

Went back today for a trim and highlights and Kailyn did a great job again. The reason for 3 stars instead of 4 is no reflection on Kailyn but the salon over all. There were 7 stylists on the floor while I was there and 4 of them were wearing what could only be described as inappropriate shorts. 2 of them were so short you could literally see their butt checks. No one wants to see that in this type of setting. I feel like the manager should have said something to them about it but it seemed like no one really cared. There was also some inappropriate conversation taking place between the stylists that were not busy. Really expect more from a place I'm spent $170 at. read more

I made two phone calls and went into the salon once while making babysitting arrangements. I was greeted by two different receptionists who were both friendly patient and a pleasure to talk to.I had my hair done by Josh. He is personable, thorough and listens. The other stylists were cheerful, happy and only made my experience even better. I have had my hair dyed, highlighted, and cut for twelve years while living in three different states. I honestly can't remember ever being as happy with the results as I am with the job I had done by Josh. I have been happy with it for a month now and received numerous compliments. It hasn't faded or looked in need of a touch up for the month I've had it. He is not the fastest job I have had but he is the most thorough and high quality I feel I've ever received. The prices were middle to high range but again the quality is on the very high range. The salon itself has good ventilation, beautiful yet simple decor and plenty of easy parking. This is by far the WORST experience in my lifetime. I was seeing a stylist, named, Micaleigh Cheary, who decided today when I showed up that I would be better suited seeing another stylist someplace else. I have been a client of her for almost 6 months. I never complained about any service, we were trying to get me to a warmer dark brown ( I am 90% grey now), and my hair color is black, which is attractive with my skin tone. But, after a wonderful camaradarie she felt she was not able to help me as a client, and we were just not clicking . REALLY ~ WTF!! She enjoyed all the tips I gave her and encouragement , though. Obviously, she is very immature, insecure, and needs to grow up, and out as a stylist. I had always been encouraging to her and all I wanted was what she gave me ~ nice hair when I left each appointment. TO be met by her and an office manager was disrespectful, unprofessional and rude to me. Had she called me to meet at Starbucks for a one on one prior to this "consultation" it would have been preferable to me. When she offered me a referral to another Salon in Reno it was the final blow. read more

My mother took my daughter in for assistance with a reverse French braid and simple bun before a cheer dress rehearsal that my daughter was having trouble doing due to me being at work. Jenna totally took advantage of them and charged my mother $50 for a braid and bun. No hair wash, no cut, just a quick up-do. $50 for a max 10 min style. And used my daughter's product that she had brought in her hair supply bag. $50! And this was the manager. I've been a client and have been extremely happy with my service. But needless to say, they lost a customer. Cannot believe someone would be so greedy and take advantage of a grandmother and her granddaughter, for less than 10 min of a simple updo. read more

Was referred here by a friend and was excited to give it a try! Unfortunately I had a negative experience and they weren't willing to help me when I had a problem with the extensions that I had put in.. I've had the same type of extensions for over a year and never had any issues in the past. The stylist I went to used a different type of tape which ended up slipping out after 3 weeks although I had done nothing different with my hair routine. I told them I would be willing to pay the same amount I had paid to get them adjusted but they told me it would cost more?.. Very disappointed that they weren't willing to work with me considering the situation. Stylists I have had in the past were willing to fix any slipping/falling out issues with extensions free of charge.. Won't be coming back. read more

I recently got my nails done by Lindsey, and I was referred by a friend. The nails I got were uneven, thick, and she barely filed the old set off. Within 3 hours, a piece had already chipped off. I am so angry that I wasted 40 dollars on nails that couldn't even last a day!
